05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

Here’s a quick shot of the bracelets that arrived today. I will send PM's and/or post something on the thread sometime soon with info on payment/sending the bracelets

Adult at top, youth glow below and the lot of them at the bottom. The bottom photo is probably the most accurate color depiction.

Bracelets came out good!! They will definetly be easy to spot when out & about. :)

The bracelets look great Scott. Thanks again for doing that. I second (or third) the idea of kicking a couple extra bucks your way which should cover shipping and then some.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to say that I will be on the May 9 cruise!!:yay:

I am SO excited; this will be my first cruise ever and I am thrilled that it will be a Disney cruise!!! I have been reading these boards for years, enjoying reading about the fun everyone else has been having on the DCL. And finally, finally, I will be going on a Disney cruise!!

I will be cruising with my parents, who are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary. No children; just three adults.

I have a few questions for my fellow shipmates:

1) What is the "Fish Extender" program?
2) How do I know what our room number is?
3) How do I know what dining (early or late) we have been assigned? What are the chances of getting it changed if we want early seating and have been assigned late seating?
4) It looks like there are no Palo reservations available. What are the chances of eventually getting a reservation?

I can't believe it's just a few months away!! Just wanted to say hi to all my fellow May 9 cruisers!!

Yep, a sea of green will be parading the ship for 7 days! I would have to say your sample bracelets posted were spot on for the real thing!:thumbsup2

Welcome to our ever-active cruise meet thread and congrats on your first DIS post!:thumbsup2

Fish Extender- Here is link to a 46 page Thread that should clear that up right away!;)
On a basic level, you hang a holder on the metal fish that is mounted to the wall outside of your room. You receive gifts from your fellow DIS cruisers in the Fish Extender hanging on the metal fish. You also go around the ship and pass a gift(s) out to each group/person that is part of the FE group.
**Tomorrow is the very last day to join the program if you think you would like to, so please post with confirmation by tomorrow so you can be added if you want to join the FE Gang.

Not sure how you booked, but your confirmation should have a room number. You can also log into your reservation on the DCL website and it will show your room number. If you booked a guaranteed room, it is possible the room number hasn’t been assigned yet?

Late or Early dinner should be also listed on your confirmation or you can see it if you log into the reservation on the DCL site. The actual time you will sit down and the dining rotation wont be revealed until you check in and get your KTTW card at the Port.
I have read you may be able to get it changed if you go to the correct spot on the ship shortly after boarding the first day. People seem to suggest making sure you are at port early to be one of the first to board to ensure the best chance of your request being met. I have never changed a dining time myself.
Same thing for Palo, DISers suggest get ting on the ship early and go to the assigned area to request a Palo reservation. Many people say they have been successful with this, they may just have to be flexible on the day time for the reservation.

Just about 2 months to go and we will all be enjoying the high seas!
:dance3:

Do you know if they're any more Canadians sailing on this cruise that might be on the Dis board.

Thanks

Hi! :)

Wanted to say that my family will be on the May 9th cruise as well! This will be the second Disney cruise for DH and I, and will be our two sons first Disney cruise. DS1 is 2.5 years old and DS2 will be 7 months old. Can't wait to go!

By the way, we would like to join the FE program if it's not too late to do so. ;)

A big :welcome: to you! Just when we thought that this was it...we get more awesome cruisers...and that's always a great thing! I have a 2.5 year old son going along with us as well...should be fun :thumbsup2

Scottie the bracelets came out great. I know that it took a lot of your time to do this and I wanted to say thanks. We will take care of getting the money, etc to you as soon as you know the final cost.

I am getting so excited as the days are going by. It seems like everything I look for lately has a "cruise need" attached. I got a great new travel bag (to carry day to day like a purse) with all kinds of pockets, etc... I researched and found this one to be great. So at least my bag is ready to go.

I am creating handmade items for our FE. I have the stuff for them just need to get busy with making them. Anyone else making something crafty? (BTW -I am not that crafty but my friend is and she is teaching me.)

Just a note: our little poodle, YachtSea, has a herniated disc and is in a lot of pain and doc doesn't want him to walk for a month - plus he is medicated with steroids, pain pills, and muscle relaxer. This is tough as he is our child since our human ones are married and in their own homes. If you could send a few prayers for him that would be great.

You are all a great bunch and can't wait to get to meet all of you. :yay:
