05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

I just checked and we've been moved from Late Dining to Main! :cool1:
We have been wait listed since last July. I was bugging our TA and she said to be patient. Everything is falling in place.
:cheer2:

Congrats on the Main Seating! We got moved up too, so lucky us!
How old is your daughter Hannah? My Hannah is 5...

Scottie & DisneyMommy1022 -

A big thank you for all of your hard work! :worship: :yay: I knew our first cruise would be fun, but having folks like you help make it even more so .... that's wonderful. I can't wait to meet everyone.
Jennifer

No problem! I plan to send the PM out today to each person with the payment and shipping info so everyone can get their bracelets well in advance of sailing.

Job well done! Hopefully someone is still eating late seating, we wont know what to do with an empty dining room!

Two FYI's

For those of you with Youth Glow bracelets... if you find one of you children missing after the bracelets are delivered, please check the nearest closet- that is where I found Dylan yesterday trying to "make it glow daddy"!

Those with tickets for SouthWest... Looks like Ding Fares for flights into mid/late May started. Keep your eyes peeled for a cheap rate for your flights:goodvibes

Welcome to our ever-active cruise meet thread and congrats on your first DIS post!:thumbsup2

Fish Extender- Here is link to a 46 page that should clear that up right away!;)
On a basic level, you hang a holder on the metal fish that is mounted to the wall outside of your room. You receive gifts from your fellow DIS cruisers in the Fish Extender hanging on the metal fish. You also go around the ship and pass a gift(s) out to each group/person that is part of the FE group.
**Tomorrow is the very last day to join the program if you think you would like to, so please post with confirmation by tomorrow so you can be added if you want to join the FE Gang.

Not sure how you booked, but your confirmation should have a room number. You can also log into your reservation on the DCL website and it will show your room number. If you booked a guaranteed room, it is possible the room number hasn’t been assigned yet?

Late or Early dinner should be also listed on your confirmation or you can see it if you log into the reservation on the DCL site. The actual time you will sit down and the dining rotation wont be revealed until you check in and get your KTTW card at the Port.
I have read you may be able to get it changed if you go to the correct spot on the ship shortly after boarding the first day. People seem to suggest making sure you are at port early to be one of the first to board to ensure the best chance of your request being met. I have never changed a dining time myself.
Same thing for Palo, DISers suggest get ting on the ship early and go to the assigned area to request a Palo reservation. Many people say they have been successful with this, they may just have to be flexible on the day time for the reservation.

Just about 2 months to go and we will all be enjoying the high seas!
:dance3:

Thanks for the information. We will just have to hustle once we get on the ship to try to get our dining time changed and try to get a Palo reservation. I am so excited, these last few months before will be difficult to get through!

Hi Jen

You lived on 1 coast of the country & I live on the other In little ol Nova Scotia.
I never wish time away but I have been lately.
I have gone on a lot of trips over the years plus 2 other cruises but its never been this exciting with having The Dis board plus doing the fish extenders.See you all on board.

Eva

I want/plan on traveling all over Canada someday:)I've only been on the west side(B.C.,Victoria, and Alberta) I have 3 kids, so finding time to travel between school and my husbands work is sometimes hard to find! This is our 3rd Disney cruise:cheer2: Back in 07 we decided we would start a new family tradition. Every christmas instead of getting tons of STUFF my kids don't need we would do a family trip. So every Christmas morning they find out when and where we will be going! It's worked out great. my kids don't miss all the gifts. They still give a gift to each other and family usually gives them something for the trip ($, camera, flip flops) We have made some amazing memories:lovestruc My Hubby is from India and came to the states in 91. A canadian and a Indian meeting in North Idaho, who would have guessed! I can't wait to meet you...Not much longer:cool1:

Thanks for the update I have added the info and you are all set!

Thank you DisneyMommy1022 for all your hard work. I know it was very time consuming and a bit hair pulling. :scared1:

I started work on one of my crafts yesterday. I have a looooooong way to go and haven't even started the one for each cabin.

We are staying at the Radisson the night before. Anyone else?

Have many responded to coming to the port to watch the Magic come in that morning?

No problem, I think I enjoy this stuff! DH just tells me I'm obsessed:confused3, but I just don't understand what he is talking about. Its not like I have been planning, reading, creating, or crafting for the past year or anything :rolleyes1 . I just wanted to take my time and be well informed!!! LOL!!!:lmao:

We will be at the port staying at the Raddison the night before the cruise. The family plans to spend the day by the pool! Hope to see you there.

I just finished sending a PM to each person who placed an order for cruise bracelets, so please check your messages :)

moebear- I was unable to send a PM to you, because you appear to have that feature turned off. Please send me an email to dvcbwvfans at yahoo.com and I will be happy to reply with the payment/shipping info I sent out to everyone.

And thanks for all your FE work Kristen!

Congrats on the Main Seating! We got moved up too, so lucky us!
How old is your daughter Hannah? My Hannah is 5...

My Hannah will be 4 weeks shy of her 5th birthday at the time of the cruise. I don't know if Disney can handle two Hannah's if yours is anything like mine is!

I updated the front page cruiser list with all of the new info I could find over the past several days of postings. WOW we are getting full! :)

We have officially hit the 2 month mark today!!! Yeah!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Hannah's actually the easy one...it's my middle child, Sarah, that will be the handful!
We'll have to introduce the Hannah's as soon as possible!

DON - 2 months has never seemed so long!

Just a quick poll:

Who will be traveling with just birth certificates and who will be traveling with a pass port?

Did you get pass ports for your kids or just the adults???

Don't know what to do!!!:confused3

Morgan reminded me a million times this morning! :) I printed a countdown calendar for the kids today to hang on the fridge so they can mark the days off.

We are traveling with birth certificates in May, as we have done on our past Disney cruises. I plan to get passports just not before we sail.
I fully understand it will be more of a hassle to get home if something happens (emergency) to one of us and we are in a foreign land, but we can still get home with some work on our end.

OK so you feel comfortable traveling with just your Birth Certificates? How many copies do you bring per person? Do you have to show it at any ports or just at check in on the ship?:scared1:

We got passports for all of them - if you somehow miss the boat at a port of call, you'll need the passports for the airlines.

Hey Kristen - Can you post the final FE list or are there still some clarifications you're waiting on?

Yep, we feel comfortable enough. We haven’t done a 7-night sailing yet but on our 4-night sailings we just brought the original copy and left a photo copy with my parents back home. We only had to show it when we checked in at the terminal and when we came back to the terminal after the cruise was over.

Jeremy, I will be sure to hold the boat for your family when you get stuck chasing butterflies around at the farm!
