05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

I followed you all up to "This would also make each person have a chance to be the first and last on the list."..... Would you mind explaining that one more time. What I was thinking was to have a "two-way" train. i.e. When you get the bios, etc... you add yours and send all of them to the next person on the list AND send a second copy of just your bio to the person before you on the list. That person would read it & send it to the person before them & so on all the way to the very first person. That would ensure that the kids would get new mail, with a new bio often and they would get to know the Kids that joined the train after them.:

I hope this Helps:

List of Kids:
John
Kate
Matt
Ryan
Sara

Here is how it would work:
john bio to Kate
john, Kate bio to Matt
john, Kate, Matt bio to Ryan
john, Kate, Matt, Ryan bio to Sarah
at this point Sara would have all the bio's she would send hers and would now be the first person to answer the 1st question. All bios along with Sara's and her answer to the new question would now go to john who was first to send his bio but now is second in answering the 1st question. This makes Ryan the last person to answer the 1st question but the first person to answer the 2nd question making Matt the last to answer the 2nd but the first to answer the 3rd question. Dose this help or did I confuse you more?

Regarding the FE, I think it should be whatever you want it to be. You can add something everyday or pick one day of the cruise to add something. I personally, plan to add something 3 or 4 days of the cruise. Sometimes it will be a family gift, sometimes just the kiddos, & sometimes adults too. My favorite thing I've seen people add is something is from where you are from. Like I saw someone who is from the 1,000 islands in NY add mini 1,000 island dressing bottles. I've also seen people from Tennessee add mini Tennessee Whiskey bottles. That kind of thing....
One thing I know for sure I plan to add is those glowing necklaceses. I think they will be tons of fun for some of the night time outside parties. :cool1:

Again I like your thinking on this also. It should be left up to each person with how much they want to give but as long as they sign up they must give at least one item rather it be for the family, kids, or just the adults. That way they are not just receiving gift and not giving anything back in return.

Next order of business we need a theme name and a logo! and thought's on this?

A name.... ..... well, I think a name before a logo is a given. But, I'm drawing a bit of a blank on a name.....

I love all these ideas. I am so glad that there are people on here that are finally talking about going away. I keep checking every other day for more posts and there was never anything. I would be willing to participate in the FE. Where do you get them from?

I know what you mean about checking every other day, I do the same! As to the FE, I have seen people that make their own and other who buy them off of ebay. I also think that there is a lady on here that will make them for a fee. I will check around and see if I can find the thread. I cant wait until its our turn to sail away!

I see that this is your first DCL cruise, but have you ever cruised before? We have never cruised, so we are very excited to sail. My mom who is coming with has cruised twice before and enjoys it very much.

Yes this will be our first cruise. DH wanted to wait until the girls were older so that they would remember this trip. We also have a DS who will be 1 1/2 when we take this trip and he will be staying with my DM so that we can have some quality time with the girls! Man we have like 8 months before we sail and I am having so much fun planning! :cheer2:

I take it no one has come up with any ideas for a name?

Has anyone bought the PassPorter for DCL? I just bought the WDW for $1 and I fell in love with it. I am now thinking of getting a DCL one. If I do get one, I will probably wait until the beginning of the year to see if they come out with a new one before our cruise.

I own the last edition of the DCL PassPorter book and I really love it. It is so informative and will definitely improve our first cruise experience. I am tempted to purchase the version that was just released to see if there are any new tips, etc... :)

If you havent already, sign up for the Passporter email newsletter... it's a nice read and a good way to get a Disney fix! :thumbsup2

Welcome for sure! No worries on the time passing to May slowly... with all the stuff to learn about on the DIS boards it will be here in no time!

Well it looks like SouthWest is coming out with their next round of flights in early November. Kind of stinks that it is only going to be released up until the day we plan to fly down to Orlando (5/8). I guess we will buy one way tickets and then wait for the next release of dates to pick up a flight home. Keep fingers crossed prices arent sky high!

Can't wait to meet you . We too have a DS who will be 3 when we cruise. We also have 2 DD who are 8 and 5.

I purchased the passporter, and it is a very good read. This one was published in April or May of 2008. That is when the next one for 2009 will be out. So far it is well worth the money.
