Only 9 Months 2 Weeks and 3 Days until we sail away!!

I can't wait until this cruise!!! I am sooooo excited!!!!

If anyone has any tips on cruising with a little one (will be just over 12 months at sailing) please let us know.

Welcome aboard! We have sailed twice on the Wonder with children that were between a year and two old (if I recall correctly!). Something we learned from our cruise this past May was to book some time in the infant care area during dinner. Our son was closer to 2 at sailing so a bit more active and really didn’t want to sit thru the whole dinner event. He had more fun grabbing a quick bite when we sat down and then we would take him down to the nursery area for the remainder of our meal.

UGH, I feel as though I'll never get this thing paid off. With everything costing more, it is taking much longer that I planned to pay it off.

I feel your pain! I planned on paying it off by now, but looks like we will run up closer to the final date.

Thats exactly where were at right now too! We don't owe too much but still feels like it will never be paid off... and I find it hard to stay excited about our cruise until its paid off!! Looks like the family and I will be doing some yard sales and whatever we can to pay it off ASAP!!

We are having a bithday party tomorrow for our son... he will be 3 on the 25th.

I just submitted the payment request to Dreams to pay the final amount owing on our cruise! Very Exciting.... Now we move onto taking care of flights and spending money.

Things have been a bit crazy for us as we have recently bought our 1st house!!!

Just wondering if we have started a FE (Fish Extender) for this cruise yet?

Also, I have 2 nephews who will be on this cruise and I thought it would be fun to make penpals with kids their age that they will meet on the ship. They are 6 & 8 (in a couple days). Anyone out there interested??? Doesn't have to be just the boys....

Or, might be fun to start a train letter kind of thing. Where each kid write a mini bio and things they want to share with the other kids on the ship. They could include a photo or whatever... then they add it to the envelope and send it to the next person on the list.

Then all the kids get to "meet" each other. Just a thought..

Hmmm... how to keep the kids at the front of the list in the loop....

We could have two copies of the bio. One to go into the envelope with the rest and be passed on & one to be sent to the person who sent you the packet. When you got a new bio, after you read it, send it to the person before you on the list and so one.

This could also be done via email....

I would love to start a penpal. I have 3 kids going ton the cruise. I have 2 daughter's ages 8 and 5 and a son who is 3. Writing a letter and mailing is way more exciting for my kids than email. I have no idea what a fish extender is or what to do with one.

Secondly, I'm not too excited at the idea of posting everyone's home address for the penpal thing, so maybe I can start a post with the DIS name of each person who is interested. That way, you would only have to PM the person before & after you to keep track of addresses. What do you think?

So that way when the next person gets it they would see all the bio's and then have a chance to see what the new first person wrote about the new question and then submit their response and so on and so on. I followed you all up to "This would also make each person have a chance to be the first and last on the list."..... Would you mind explaining that one more time. What I was thinking was to have a "two-way" train. i.e. When you get the bios, etc... you add yours and send all of them to the next person on the list AND send a second copy of just your bio to the person before you on the list. That person would read it & send it to the person before them & so on all the way to the very first person. That would ensure that the kids would get new mail, with a new bio often and they would get to know the Kids that joined the train after them.

Regarding the FE, I think it should be whatever you want it to be. You can add something everyday or pick one day of the cruise to add something. I personally, plan to add something 3 or 4 days of the cruise. Sometimes it will be a family gift, sometimes just the kiddos, & sometimes adults too. My favorite thing I've seen people add is something is from where you are from. Like I saw someone who is from the 1,000 islands in NY add mini 1,000 island dressing bottles. I've also seen people from Tennessee add mini Tennessee Whiskey bottles. That kind of thing....
One thing I know for sure I plan to add is those glowing necklaceses. I think they will be tons of fun for some of the night time outside parties.
