04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Just 30 days until we leave for our pre-cruise Disneyland visit! I think I can legitimately start packing now.

Hope I get the cruise docs soon! That makes it seem all the more real, lol.

"patiently" waiting for cruise soca and FE gifts to arrive...the suspense is making me go crazy! I think it's time to start packing...anyone else with me!

Does anyone have any inside scoop on who we're going to have for the cabaret entertainment on the cruise? I don't recall seeing it mentioned as I browsed through the thread.

I've been asking as well. ANYONE sailing in a SUITE has access to the list of entertainment / entertainers ... between 30 and 60 days prior to sailing ... BUT THEY MUST ASK! Accordingly, if anyone on this thread has a Suite ... please contact DCL to inquire as to our entertainment.
:yay:

... guys out there... are you bringing any short sleeve polos? I don't know how to pack for Joe! Long sleeve shirts only? He has turtlenecks and long sleeved knit type pullovers for work, but they will really eat up the suitcase space.

I wouldn't pack turtlenecks, knit pullovers, or jeans ... as they are either bulky, or heavy. How do you normally dress for sea days on a Caribbean cruise? With the exception of strolling on the upper decks, there is no reason to dress differently for sea days on this cruise, versus a Caribbean cruise. I normally wear nice shorts for sea days, then change into Dockers of Khakis for dinner (unless dinner dress code dictates otherwise).

Excited for everyone who got docs in the mail!:cool1: Now I wish I wouldn't have done the online check-in - I would love to get some Disney mail!:yay:

I don't think the cruise docs are related to online check-in. Regardless of how you do the check-in paperwork, you still need the luggage tags. And people who don't check in online but plan to use DCL ground transportation will need their bus tickets.

I am sure those of us in the northwest will just need an extra day or two for the mail to travel this far. I hope they arrive today, but will try to be patient if they don't!

... people who don't check in online but plan to use DCL ground transportation will need their bus tickets.

Technically, you do not need DCL bus tickets (in the mail) for ground transportation. You can buy DCL transportation online (up to several days before cruising), or even at check in. If you purchase online, your name is added to DCL's list (verified at check in).

I do my best to connect peoples first names with their disboard IDs. So in this case, if I didn't know that you are now a disboard member using the K&JDuhe ID, I would have attached your first names with pamkass.

I would also like to know if Keith or Julie is the disboard member - I also try and identify the actual disboard member on their name tags.

This will all make sense when you see the name badges.

Ken
Since I do all the postings I would say me, Keith, is the Disboard member.
My DW Julie just reads the posts.

Yeah, right. What's next? Are you going to tell me it's possible to leave Disneyland without three books full of A and B tickets?

The bus tickets really aren't necessary, but don't tell the kids looking forward to handing them over. And the luggage tags aren't strictly necessary, but are convenient. Nevertheless, Disney and other cruise lines will continue to send them because customers look forward to receiving them.

I'm with you--let's get started!!! Just don't tell the beagles. Still waiting for my cruise docs:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 it always makes my day to open the mail box and find them!

Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, wrong cruise, or if you are no longer
going on one of these cruises. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

PLEASE REVIEW YOUR LISTING AND PM ME IF IT IS CORRECT!
A * before your listing means your have verified the names and you are good to go - you do not have to respond.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

GETTING YOUR LANYARDS AND NAME BADGES
If your name is on this list (except for those on the "not confirmed" list), I have a name badge and lanyard for you. Please make an effort to pick them up.

Name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

In Los Angeles:
At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

On Deck 10 - Starboard side (that's the right side of the ship) - overlooking the Goofy pool from 2:30 to 3:30pm - if it's raining, I will move to the Promenade Lounge.

If we can't connect in these places, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

I will be giving out two sets of lanyards and name badges in Los Angeles for those doing the B2B!

In Vancouver:
Because I'm on the Repo, I cannot guarantee that I will be in the terminal at Vancouver. Therefore, I will be in the Promenade Lounge from 2:30 to 3:30.

If we can't connect at that time, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

Wahooo! FE gifts came today and they look awesome! Now we just need some cruise docs!

:yay:

Okay, Steve you sound like my hubby:) On sea days on a caribbean cruise, it is 80 degrees outside and I am sitting in the sun, wearing a swim suit. Since I am always cold, sailing in 60 degree weather (probably foggy or windy at times) somehow I think I'll need jeans and sweatshirts. ;) Not everyone is cold blooded like me, and I realize I'll be inside more, but the damp cool air is just not appealing to me, so I'm preparing! :rotfl2:

Ken I am dying to say "yes, confirm us" but have not heard the definitive "yes" from the surgeon for Leiana. Everyone seems to think traveling will be just fine for her, but don't want to commit the money until we know for certain. Hopefully we will know later today, and be in time to join the nametag/lanyard group. :confused3

Holding out Pixie Dust for you!:)

We just use the corner curio in the front bathroom for most of our toiletries ... then put toothbrushes, medications (etc) on the glass shelf over the sinks in both bathrooms. We've been doing this for more than 10 years on the Magic ... with 2, 3 or 4 people ... with no issues. :cool2:
Steven
We are with you on this issue and never had a problem, however we have never sailed with little ones which is where I believe it helps folks out. Sue

Aloha Sue! We are so jealous!! We have been busy watching the Giants beat the Dodgers in spring training:thumbsup2 We really want to meet up with you on the cruise, we have a little something for you! Have a fun trip, Karen and Ron CoastieandMate:hug:

That is great that you have been to spring training. I have been off the boards since we brought the new puppy home on Saturday. DH gave me some free time to check in and he is watching to make sure everyone is playing nice. Our 3 year old is still not sure about this puppy. Good news is that she has not gone after her but rather just tries to ignor her!:rotfl2:

A reminder from a native San Franciscan while the ave temp is 54 to 65 we are right on the bay and if the wind comes up which it does this time of year it can be quite cool. Just remember to bring a jacket especially for all of you folks going to Alcatraz it is especially cool or for some of us down right cold there. Sue
