04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Welcome aboard to all our new cruisers! :hippie:

I am starting to "think" about the scrapbooking portion for the cruise.

Will get there eventually. Just organized my scrapbook room again, getting ready to move this summer. Have sold the house and am trying to decide on the new one. Down to the final decisions, but can't decide what to do. Now, if it was deciding about DCL, that would have been easy!

Linda! You are always a whirlwind of great adventures! I don't know how you do it! Good luck with the search and with packing up everything. I wish I lived closer so I could help.

Scrapbooking! Now that's always something great to look forward to! :goodvibes

I still haven't finished mine from the '08 PC! Two years ago today we were stopping at Castaway Cay and the beginning of that great adventure. Made some lifelong friends, and we're STILL chatting on the DIS (up to thread 17 since the cruise, I believe). Glad to be crusing with some of the "Thieves" on this adventure too!

And if I could lose one crummy pound each week, I'd fell SO much better on this cruise! That doesn't sound impossible, does it?

One of my co-workers is booking this cruise with extended family. It's the first cruise for some of them and the first DCL for all of them. I've already started inundating her with photos, Navigators and lists! :lmao: She has a two year old, so I'd be glad to hear any suggestions any of you may have for her.

Belated happy birthday to Linda and Bob!

And, Jackie, since you were just mentioning this subject . . . :goodvibes

Did you know that the WISH Biggest Loser participants have lost over 1200 pounds so far this year?!?

The new Between the BLs Summer Challenge starts 5/28/10 and runs through August 12, 2010. It is a lot of fun and great way to get some wonderful support for your weight loss goals.

I am the hostess of the challenge and my fellow cruiser, LuvBaloo, is weightkeeper this time.

Hope that some of our fellow cruisers will consider joining us!

That is FABULOUS! I need to mosey over to the WISH forum and get some motivation.

Actually, it was because of the WISH forum that I registered for the DISboards and came out of lurkerdom! I'd always read the boards to plan my WDW vacations, but it was the support on the WISH forum that got me 'active'. WOW....14,000 posts ago! :rotfl:

Go on another cruise in the interim! DH Donna lost 3 pounds on the April 2010 EB T/A cruise!
:woohoo:

Good Morning Cruisers!

How can anyone LOSE weight on a cruise:confused3:confused3

And so you are! :thumbsup2

Lynn, I have to start getting my head around to the Alaska portion of this adventure. I've been thinking so much about SF and Vancouver and I need to look at our Alaska ports. I think partially, for me, because I'll be on a tight budget, I haven't looked at off ship actvities much. And maybe there is a little fear that the second leg might have to be cancelled. But I know I need to go ahead and plan 'as if' I will be able to do the entire adventure. As my good friend Woody taught me, book the cruise you want and allow for it to happen! :upsidedow

.

We are leaving for Europe in a week and will end up on the Barcelona to Dover repo then the Baltic, so I am still preoccupied with that one. Once we are back from that, then I can think about Alaska!

Is this a comment, or a mandate? :cool1:

Both!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Bob, Linda and Peter!

I am again a woman of leisure - I have quit my job with the census (the 8 week job that turned into 6 1/2 months) to have a week off to get caught up with all the stuff at home before we leave for Europe. It will be a busy week!

Have a great day all!

DW Donna drank a case of water while on the cruise, and briskly walked a mile each morning (deck 4). On the other hand, I did neither, and did not lose or gain weight. The TransAtlantic excursions involved much more walking, as compared to Caribbean excursions - so I am sure that didn't hurt either.

Hello all! Busy weekend working in FL. Saw the most amazing fireworks (from a distance) at MK last night. MK closed early for a travel group and the fireworks were just WOW! Even better than a Halloween or Christmas party. So glad I got to see them. Those people had some nice stuff...free food, free liquor (in MK no less). My invitation must have been lost in the mail. :)

Back to reality in rainy VA tonight. Off to SF (again) in about 10 days.

Reviewing the most recent posts...don't think I gained any on the last cruise...and the one before that I think I had food poisoning (bad shell fish) so that really helped! So it's possible to lose one way or another. Walking deck 4 is great though. It will be even better to walk in the cooler Pacific/Alaskan climate.

Hi Lynn!!! Congratulations on your new status! :woohoo: ENJOY getting ready for your cruises. I'm glad we will be sharing 3 cruises in 2011. That will give us time to hear all about your travels! :goodvibes

Good Morning Cruisers!

A bump from page 3:eek:

Georgie - it will be great to spend some time with you guys - rather than a quick dinner get together!

Scott and I do go out nearly every morning, Scott runs and I walk deck 4 - but I guess I eat too much, because that just keeps me from gaining way too much, I have never lost weight on a cruise!

Have a great day all!
