04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

seaulater: How exciting for your daughter - Looks like she is covering my DH's HS and my College! What fun to be able to do such an amazing cruise for her graduation. We are in Herriman so it's not much further to University Mall than Fashion Place, but I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a store up here. Until then I will frequent the outlet at Fort Union when it is around. There is a lady working there who will be on this cruise but she doesn't DIS.

Now we can say that our cruise is next year! That makes it sound so much better than having to explain to people why we have booked a vacation that is two years away.

Haven't posted here in a while, but hope everyone had good Holidays, I know a little late:lmao:. I'll start posting here more after my 7 day cruise this March

:surfweb: Hi All,
Has anyone seen anything on Disneyland to port feelers yet?
Or which hotel they'd run the bus from.

I was wondering the same thing? Does Disneyland have the Magical Express service as well? If not, then what would be the best way to get there from LAX? Is there a closer airport? I would like to fly out of Buffalo to LA, as it would be cheaper, however, return flight from Vancouver, it would be easier to fly into Toronto. May just end up flying both ways out of Toronto.

There is no ME at DL, it is entirely different than what WDW people are used to. There are 4 airports near by, Super Shuttle runs from all of them to all the hotels. A couple of years ago SS from LAX was 13 dollars to the Residence Inn on Katella (a couple of miles from DL, but walkable).

You might want to search on the old Mexican Riviera cruises from 2 years ago, because with DCL being there for the entire summer, there has to be some talk of transport to and from DL.

I remember seeing talk of Disney transportation to the ports last time, just not the details. :3dglasses They offered pre-cruise stays at DLR with transportation, too. I think you have to pay for the Disney bus from LAX.
They do have bus transportation you can arrange when you book a package at DL - it's just not ME, so I'm sure they'll offer us something.

NO DME at Disneyland. Shuttles (Super Shuttle for one), Buses, taxis.

Good info on the DLR pre-cruise package. We plan to fly out the Friday before the repo and stay at DLR. From what I've been able to figure out, the DLR rates for 2011 should be out around August, 2010. I wonder if they'll start offering a DCL package deal around that time?

Of course, I'm hoping for a discount...after years and years of going to WDW, DLR seems to work so differently!

The closest airport to DLR is John Wayne (Orange County) followed by Long Beach and then LAX.

There is a Magical Express bus that runs from LAX and John Wayne. However, it is not free. I believe it is $20 one way (from LAX) and you can get $2 discount from the Greyline website, but I haven't checked it out lately so no flames if I am off. It will pick up from the airports and then will take you to any of the DLR & Good Neighbor hotels. That being said I prefer to fly into Long Beach and take a flat rate cab to the resort $45 as of last spring.

Disneyland and WDW operate very differently in regards to when they release pricing and deals. Disneyland's come out 2 or 3 months ahead, and they rarely do pin codes. However, they tend to be very predictable historically speaking.

I don't recall them every running a promotion in April with all the spring break crowds they get. And with the week leading up to our cruise being Easter week I fear we will be paying rack if we stay close by.

Is the Wonder going to be at the Long Beach Port?

Good Evening Cruisers!

We have taken an evening off from the Parks here at WDW, we both finished our races, Scott did the Goofy (actually a "Dumbo" that is the 5K on Friday, 1/2 marathon on Sat, marathon on Sun and another unofficial 5K on Monday!), while I did the 5K and the 1/2 marathon.

It had been very cold here, today it finally warmed up, I was comfortable with a long sleeved shirt and light weight pants, only one layer of clothes - after a week of wearing multiple layers!

Have a great evening all!

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to pop by and say hi!
Goodness we have so many cruises planned (well, more than we ever have before! LOL We usually only have one booked ahead at a time.... I think) that I can't keep up with all the threads!

But we're still a go for this cruise. :)

The roster page looks great!
We're confirmed on main dining now though.... not sure if the person doing the page can change that. Not sure it really matters enough to be changed. Just saying. :rotfl:

Hope everyone is doing well.... and hope the time between now and this cruise goes by quickly for everyone. I'm ready now! LOL

I'm glad to see we can get the transport from John Wayne - we like John Wayne so much better. We have family in Orange, so I'm not sure what our plans will be yet. We fly in early and stay with them for a few days, or we may do the DLR package if they are busy during that time.

Glad you're still in! I'm ready to sail now, too! I'm working on earning a free cruise to Jamaica in Oct to replace ours in Oct to Hawaii - if I get it, we will leave a week earlier! Yah, a week 10 months from now. :goodvibes

I too like John Wayne if I fly to DL. I even rent a car, it's an easy drive, sometimes it's just a lot of traffic. There is a lot to see and do in the area, for me I can do DL/DCA in 2 days, seeing and doing most everything I want to. 3 dys, especially if one is at opening seems to be too much time. But I am skipping the Story Book Canal, Teacups, and a few other rides that I don't care for.

Park hopping, well it takes less than 5 minutes to walk between the two parks.

It should be great weather, cool, not much humidity. I will be there on there on the 9th of April for one day of fun, that should be close to the same weather, so I will give that info after.

Hi guys!

Looks like we are out for this cruise - if you want to take us off the roster. Just found out we are expecting - and I don't think I am up for traveling with a little one. Have a great trip!
