04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Just to let everyone know, in reply to THIS message, we had an e-mail response which was directing us to a porn site and saying that they looked forward to meeting up!!! Anything you want to share with us???

Pam

How did they get your email? Of course since I joked with you earlier, I hope you don't think it was me:scared1: That's what I get for trying to be silly.

I'm glad you let DCL know that email was stupidly timed. What would have been nice is one that said something like, hey, we're still planning this stuff, but here's a quick preview of what's to come and then maybe a video with some shots of the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. How tough would that be? Instead of book your non-existent excursions!

Blaming Stitch would have at least shown a sense of humor about the whole thing, which I think your email certainly did. Bah Humbug, DCL. All I want for Christmas is my shore excursion list!

We got a second e-mail today for the Alaska shore excursions that gave us the same information as this one. None! Sue

Same here. I replied this time...expressing my displeasure at their incompetence... not sure it will do any good but it made me feel better... ;)

Good Morning Cruisers!

We are back from our extended (cancelled flight, extra overnight in Orlando) trip to WDW! Christmas decorations are great - sorry we missed the big tree at Magic Kingdom.

I will be really busy for the next week or two getting ready for Christmas, but after that, I can start exploring excursion ideas for Alaska - I will just follow you folks to see when DCL gets it together to post alternatives. We plan to bring our Fish Extender - so we are planning on FE gifts!

Have a great day all!

Hello everyone. I just recently found this thread. My family is booked for the REPO cruise next year. This will be our first cruise (Disney or otherwise) and we are looking forward to it. I hope to get to know some of you on the board and get to meet you in person on the cruise. Still going through reading 100 pages of posts (I am currently at about 15%). I booked the cruise last March while I was mobilized and was worndering how it seemed so full a year out, now I know why.

I'll try to read more before I post any rehashed questions. Just wanted to introduce myself to the group and share in the excitement of the precruise. :thumbsup2

Thanks Denise. I am in the Navy Reserve. Just got back from the Gulf right before Halloween. I wasn't sure if I would ever pay for going on a cruise ship after serving aboard a warship, but now I am looking forward to going.

Definitely a lot to read. Now about 25% done with this thread.

Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, wrong cruise, or if you are no longer
going on one of these cruises. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

PLEASE REVIEW YOUR LISTING AND PM ME IF IT IS CORRECT!
A * before your listing means your have verified the names and you are good to go.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

Thanks for your help with the list!

Hi Tammie.

You're welcome, thank you for your kind words.

It will be me, my wife, son(10) and daughter(4 at sailing) for the cruise. We are just north of Seattle so if anyone has any particular questions about the area for transportation or attractions let me know and I will see what I can do to help.

As for us we will be taking the train from Vancouver to Everett (about 30 miles north of Seattle).

Thanks! I do have a question! My DSIS lives in Stanwood, and we were thinking of taking a couple of days to see her and then flying home from SEA. Does the train really fun from Vancouver, or do you have to take a bus and then the train? DH is very much against riding a bus.

Our DGS 5 is named Myles, BTW - good name!:thumbsup2

You can ride the train south without having to ride a bus at all. It even looks like the train has a stop in Stanwood. It looks like the catch would be the train doesn't leave until 5:45pm. I figured this would give us the day to take in some sites in Vancouver but I need to find some place to stash our luggage for the day. :)

Miles seemed to become a lot more popular right after we chose the name ;)

Thanks! Maybe we can rent a car for the day. That sounds like a great plan- maybe we'll just take the train all the way home after visiting my DSIS.

Edited to add: Oops - looks like the train ride home won't happen, but it will be fun to ride it from Vancouver down.

Welcome to the cruise!

Hi
I haven't posted on this thread but I made a few comments on the Alaska part. I am a pretty good resource when is comes to SF. While now living in VA my husband and I lived over 40 years on the SF peninsula. When we were on the Baltic Cruise we spoke with the head of excursions for Disney and gave him two suggestions. The Walt Disney Museum at the Persido that is operated by the Disney Family and Pixard Studios. The Pixard studios are in Emeryville which is just across the SF/Oakland Bay Bridge.
I have to share my one disappointment. We have lived in VA for 10 years but I am still at season ticketholder of the SF Giants. My BFF and I have the tickets. I was hoping to get in a Friday night game while we are docked overnight. Well not only are the Giants not in town they will be in DC where we usually go see them play. DH is crushed :rotfl: He is not the baseball fan.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and I have to say we are very excited about bring the Wonder into SF Bay and going under the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge. I am sure we will be met by fireboats. Sue

HI Sue! We are life long Giants fans too! We just heard on the Gary Raditch show on Comcast, that ESPN and the national league are trying to get the Giants and the Dodgers to play a game at ATT Park on Friday April 30!! they did not give a reason why they are working on this, but wouldn't it be great?? Keep your fingers crossed!! Karen and Ron:cheer2:

Hiya Everybody

I need some help from the SF experts.

I looked at the Beach Blanket Babylon website http://www.beachblanketbabylon.com/ and it looks like they only do one show on Friday nights and it's at 6:30 :confused3

Does anyone know if the schedules are seasonal? Maybe they add more shows at different times of the year? It looks like they sell tickets about 4 months in advance. Do the best seats sell out quickly? Do I need to mark my calendar?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes
