04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Jason and Eric, keep forgetting to say it will be great to see you guys.

We jus got rained /snowed out of a bike ride in SLC, kinda bummed I don't like backing out of stuff but a good safe smart decision.

SO GET READY TO "Come Sail Away"....

It is the Adventure package at $115 pp. DD said YES :thumbsup2, DH doesn't know yet...I'm yes on the eye of wind and iffy on the zip line. Sounds scary:scared1: But really the bridge is what scares me at Capilano for sure. Not only does it move and shake, but it's a long drop!!!

I looked it all up yesterday and I really want to do both, but we're probably going to have to pick just one. My husband does not like heights, so who knows which one we will end up selecting. He's supposed to look at them tonight. I'd really like to do the zipline one, but being at $115 vs $30 to do the bridge/park, I think we might have to go with the cheaper of the two. Oh well, we shall see!

Still can't decide what to do in Victoria. Have Butchart gardens booked but not sure if the kids will like it

I had a hard time with Victoria, too. My DD(5) and I ended up booking the horse-drawn trolley through DCL, and I booked the Empress Tea on my own. I'm kind of bummed to miss the gardens, but...well, we have been to tons of beautiful gardens. :confused3 We'll see how it goes. I kind of wanted to do the whales, but we're doing whale watching in Juneau and that was going to be a lot of whales, lol.

We'll probably do the horsedrawn trolley in Stanley Park Vancouver. Am also thinking of doing the whale watching, but sightings are not guaranteed and we'll be dissappointed if we pay all that money and don't see any whales.

cool, does he have a favorite team or is he more of a basketball fan? I'm rooting for Knicks to lose and of course Miami to lose as well and I'm hoping Celtics, Orlando, or Spurs win

Well, he's a Blazer's fan, but if there is a sport to watch, he'll be watching! :goodvibes Lately, we follow the Spurs because we can go to the games when we visit DS and fam in San Antonio!:thumbsup2

He is usually hoping for the Lakers to lose - we have some friends who are Lakers fans, so we have a friendly rivalry going during the season!:rotfl2:

FE's almost finished!!! feels good to have made such a big dent in the preparations! I'm waiting for a few more of something to arrive, and it will be a done deal! pirate:
19 days!!! We leave in 15! :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::dance3::cheer2:

I cant believe its a little over two weeks till the cruise! My FEs are almost done :cool1: I am so glad I started on those early. I still havent booked any type of excursions. DF and I probably will swing it for SF. We have good friends over there so we might just meet up with them and hang out. But I really need to find some excursions for Victoria. We wont be staying over night in Vancouver, but will be flying out in the evening. I need to think about the logistics of that day and how we can done some sightseeing, but have our luggage stowed.

There is a luggage storage service talked about here: http://www.bcpassport.com/Vancouver-Alaska-Cruise/Vancouver-Cruise-Ship.aspx

Looks like you need to call ahead - I need to remember to do that. :goodvibes

Are you doing the grouse mountain combo package (zip line, eye of wind tour, GA) for $115/person?
What are your takes on Stanley park? I'm thinking I'd rather do Capilano bridge/park than Stanley park. What do you think?

We are doing Vancouver afterwards as well. Not sure what we're doing yet, but your ideas sound perfect! They are definitely something I would like to do! I'll post once we figure out what we're doing.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain are the more adventurous choice. You will have a lot of fun and get a lot of exercise, and from Grouse Mountain you'll enjoy a great view.
Stanley Park is much more pastoral. They have a good aquarium, and if you get out of your car to walk away from the road there are some great areas for walking or hiking where you escape most of the sounds of urban life.

My choice: Although my body doesn't look like it, I like the more physical activities of Capilano and Grouse Mountain.

OMG...I can't believe in two weeks we'll be at Disneyland!!!!!!

Heard on our news tonight that Air Canada pilots are voting on their new contract...thankfully voting ends April 27..so getting to Disneyland won't be a problem...but getting home from Vancouver might be problem.

Sounds like Michael is a bad influence on your pocketbook!

You are not kidding....sigh....he also booked me on Galveston...not sure about that one. Decisions will be made by Monday

When I went across the Capilano bridge the first time - it was amazing...the second time I was with someone who kinda forgot to tell me about a fear of heights...he made it across - but it was pretty rough on him. On the "other side" there are also rope bridges in the trees that are really a lot of fun to explore for those who don't mind heights!

I agree - but one does have to take into account fear! The cable car to the top of Grouse Mtn was a little unnerving for me.

Okay, dodged that bullet. I was starting to think Jim would be on furlough and wondered if we should spend money on vacation when we might need to pay the mortgage with it. "Whew" All systems are go now.

Car rental: We rented from Hertz. They have a rental location at Canada Place that we could book from by calling the Hertz 800 number (you can't book that location online). We are returning the car at the airport later that evening. We thought the bridge sounded fun too, but not sure either of us feel comfortable carrying the girls across it...

Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, wrong cruise, or if you are no longer
going on one of these cruises. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

PLEASE REVIEW YOUR LISTING AND PM ME IF IT IS CORRECT!
A * before your listing means your have verified the names and you are good to go - you do not have to respond.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

GETTING YOUR LANYARDS AND NAME BADGES
If your name is on this list (except for those on the "not confirmed" list), I have a name badge and lanyard for you. Please make an effort to pick them up.

Name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

In Los Angeles:
At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

(I've asked Bob of BobandLee to post a picture of Shari and I to help you in your quest to find me)

On Deck 10 - Starboard side (that's the right side of the ship) - overlooking the Goofy pool from 2:30 to 3:30pm - if it's raining, I will move to the Promenade Lounge.

If we can't connect in these places, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

I will be giving out two sets of lanyards and name badges in Los Angeles for those doing the B2B!

In Vancouver:
Because I'm on the Repo, I cannot guarantee that I will be in the terminal at Vancouver. Therefore, I will be in the Promenade Lounge from 2:30 to 3:30.

If we can't connect at that time, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

I currently have you listed in stateroom 5512 for the repo cruise. Disney now shows that room for sale. Did you change rooms or cancel the cruise?
Please let me know.
Thanks!

Hillary1,
Sorry can't PM yet but trying to get there. You are correct. We have been upgraded to 5648. Did not know that till I saw your message. Just got our Docs on Thurs and it did not show the move.
See you REAL soon.

UPGRADE :cool2:

Well our TA (who I worship) did well for us. Here's what we were able to book:
4/29/12 - Hawaii -category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship
8/10/12 - 2-night cruise from NYC - category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship
B2B with
8/12/12 - Canada/New England out of NYC – category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship

I'm sensing a pattern here. A slight obsession with 6062. But that is okay. When you find a room you like, stick with it! :rotfl:

I day after my birthday, disney cruise called and said they gave us an upgrade!
Were now in 5146..we got a verandah now!!:woohoo::cool1::woohoo:

I'm still working on all my litttle projects and things..i've never done a disney cruise yet and i wanted to do the Fish Extender gift thing, wasn't sure i'd finish my Fish Extender. So I didn't sign up for the FE, sorry. And i'm almost done with it now..figures.

:sad1: i don't have time to make any goodies but if anybody wants to cruise :rotfl: on by and see my decorations of my door, that would be awesome.
