Favorite colors and characters of each person

So has anyone done a Holiday on DCL? I'm interested in an egg hunt. My son and I were discussing the fact that we would be on a cruise for Easter and he's going to miss having an Easter egg hunt. Do you think DCL will do something along those lines? We will be in CC on Easter day, how could they not at least acknowledge it I'm wondering. Any input?:confused3

We have been on the Magic for Christmas. Even then there wasn't a lot on the actual holiday itself. Just everything they had for the whole season. All they had on the holiday was a nondenominational service. So, given that, I'm not expecting much of anything. I'm bringing my DSs basket etc. that way I'll be prepared but pleasantly surprised if there is more. AND we'll be on the magic so it'll be a holiday no matter what!

Question: if we participate in the FE, do we bring things for adults too? Or just the children?
Thanks!

Typically you either do a cabin gift or gifts for each person including the adults

I think we are going to have the Easter Bunny come a week early and celebrate Easter on Palm Sunday. This way I don't have to schlepp baskets and worry about hiding them and we can do all of our Easter traditions. I am really hoping for an Easter Egg hunt on CC. Also hoping that it won't interfere with our jetski excursion that we booked.

Thank you for the invite. However, we are going to pass on the Fish Extender.

I asked my son if he wanted an egg hunt that I organize myself. I said that DCL probably wouldn't have one. He said he wanted to have an egg hunt on CC regardless! So, I am announcing that we will have an egg hunt in the afternoon, around 2pm. I don't know where yet, and the time may change, but I will be hiding Easter eggs and if anyone wants to join us you are welcome.
I have the Stingray feeding at 11 am, then we will eat so it'll be sometime after that.
P.S. never been to CC so if anyone has suggestion on where to hide eggs, let me know

I have no idea how to do PM for this site....

But we are cruising 4/18. Officially my family, my parents and my sister's family are coming along...however for my family it is me and DS 4, 6...

Let me know how to PM and I would love to meet up etc...:confused3

If you will go to one of the messages that someone has posted, it will allow you to send that person a message. MrShiny is gathering the intel on our group so send him a message.:)

I sent you a PM if you want to be part of the Fish Extender Exchange. You might not be able to create a PM because you don't have enough posts yet, but I think you can respond to one. If not, email me: mrshiny@gmail.com

You would then need to make or buy a "fish extender." a holder that hangs on the fish message hook outside your stateroom door. Search ebay for examples. Then you deliver little gifts to each other family on the FE list. Some do one per room, some do one per person. Some do just one delivery, some one each night. We are a short cruise, so one delivery is certainly easier - remember the first day you'll be busy (and people may not have their FE's up yet) and the last day everyone is off the boat very early (so the last night isn't a great time to deliver as people are trying to get everything packed!).

Let me know of any other questions.

I've read that there is a non-denominational Christian service and also a Catholic Mass aboard Easter Sunday before debarkation at Castaway Cay.

Hey, one other question for the FE list - anyone who does NOT celebrate Easter, or at least who doesn't like things perhaps like plastic eggs and peeps?

Hi all! Does anyone have any good tips or insider advice for a newbie family? My husband and I have cruised (non-Disney) once before. And we've vacationed on Disney properties so I know how awesome they are at everything they do. But this is our family's first Disney Cruise. We'll have our two boys with us (ages 8 & 4). What are the must see or can't miss things we should be sure they do?
Thanks!

Welcome aboard! Try to get to the port as soon as you can boarding day. Boarding starts about 1 I think, and lines build as that time gets closer. If you are using Disney ground transport, your choices are a little limited of course!

When you get on board, sign up for anything you couldn't (or didn't) before. I think you need to check your kids in at the clubs - there is an open house then too so you can see the cool new stuff like the Avengers Academy.

I'm thinking of holding off seeing Capt. America (opens 4/4) because that (along with many other recent Disney films) will no doubt be shown aboard (and their 3D system is better than most theaters - it's like the one used on Star Tours).

Do not miss dinner at Animator's Palate! Check your dining rotation. Pirates' Night is a fun party too - I believe that is after leaving Nassau. Costumes are not required, but also not unusual then too.

Let the kids do what they want. If they are social, you may not see them most of the cruise! If they aren't, don't worry too much if they want to tag along some.

Most people rush to get off at Castaway Cay. I like to wait for the rush and enjoy the afternoon more. Lots of "free" floaties left by those who rented them in the morning too.

I treasure the lunch at Castaway Cay for one thing - the fresh cut fruit. I can't resist a fresh mango cut just for me.
