03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Am I the only one who hasn't gotten cruise docs yet?? Our neighbors who are coming with us got theirs last week and I haven't gotten anything yet! :confused3 I guess this is good practice on patience and non instant gratification for me!

Hang in there!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

Rachel,

I don't know if you've noticed that we're a little bit "excited" about the cruise? So yesterday we got antsy and called Disney -- not the TA -- and got the UPS tracking number for the documents.....of course, then we spent the day tricking each other that the truck was there....ringing the doorbell and running...stuffing fake envelopes and carrying them in....it was a riot here yesterday until we looked outsite and TWO UPS trucks going opposite directions were blocking the whole street....it was hysterical!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You know the old saying -- A watched UPS truck never arrives!!!

You are soooo right...the funny thing is...the SAME UPS truck that dropped off my neighbors docs actually came to MY house first...but only dropped off something else I had ordered!!!

Guess what !

My passport is wrong !! They have my place of birth as NC and it's FL. I called to see what to do and I basically have to pay $50+ dollars send it off and hope it gets back in time!! We leave in a week, like I'm going to take that chance, what would you guys do ?

The lady asked me how far I lived from Miami, I thought it was a city called that in NC. She meant Miami, FL. She said I could go there and they'd fix it for free.  :sad2:

Michelle

p.s.

She said I should of caught it within the thirty days from date of issue and I would not have this problem. I understand people make errors and I guess I should of looked more closley but..........this just sucks.

omg -- that's a little stressful! I would call the national passport office in DC and see what they say......ouch!

That really does stink!!!!

At port, don't they more or less just check to make sure the picture and name matches and that the exp. date is good??..and besides, how would they know where you were born at anyway???

None the less, they should NOT charge you $50.00 to have THEIR mistake fixed:headache:

Sorry that happened :flower3:
Keep us posted:)

Thanks you guys !!

I'm going to just go with it. I just do not have enough time to get it fixed. I checked and they said that people have mistakes on their passports all the time. I'd think this would be one thing that would be checked and then rechecked ! To me it was not cheap either.

I'm packing and I have a whole bag filled just with shoes ! Do I need that many ?
1. Water shoes ( love them) x 3
2. Sandels x 2
3. Dress shoes x 3
4. Tennis shoes x 1

This is for all three of us, plus the shoes on our feet. Do you guys bring this much, is it to much. I overpack and hate it but you never know, right ?

DH has not seen the bag of shoes yet, he'll let me know when he does.

I really do TRY to keep the packing to a minimal...but it is hard :)

Craig: dress shoes, crocs, sneakers

Boys: dress shoes, crocs, sneakers

Girl: dress sandals, cas sandals, cas shoes, crocs

That's all, folks!

Michelle,

Oh boy - that's a tough one! I gotta say - I'd be calling DCL to tell them what happened. We have spoken with people here in our circle of friends and we wonder - can't you just pretend it didn't happen? Who the heck cares if you were born in FL or NC? How would they know where you were born if you didn't tell them? I say ignore the mistake and worry about it when you get home! Honestly, they'll be checking for the expiration date and whether you're USA born, right?

Hi HO
Hi HO
Only 10 more days to go!

So pack your bags
And take your tags,
Hi HO,
Hi HO, Hi HO, Hi HO!

Okay Rani- That is the BEST ONE YET.... I LOVE your last post.... Between that and MicDay wanting us to choose our dwarft.... COOL:cool1: :cool1:

Now THANKS FOR STRESSING ME OUT.........................;)

Michelle, I have to chime in about the passport thing..... I would NOT SAY ANYTHING to either Disney or the the passport people. The truth is, who cares what it says.... As long as it puts you as a US born person. They will look at the name and the picture and that is it.... Your place of birth is not ever referenced... They do not care if you were born under a mountain in Utah and it says Hawaii..........., they just care that it is a US place...... It truly is not a big deal at all...... Now if it said you were born in Iraq, then that may be a problem...... All your passport really maens is that you are a US citizen and you have the RIGHT to come back to this country....

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Well everyone's told me to forget I was born in Florida, so I guess I need to have a rebirth party.:yay:

Hi, This is my family and we where all born and raised in NC.:rolleyes1

Love the countdown RANI !!:thumbsup2

I'm still packing ! All I want to know is... well I'd like to know a lot of things ! You'd thinking packing would be fun because it means your going somewhere, why isn't it fun ?:confused3

tis is our 1st 1-week Disney cruise. We've done the 3-day several times. Last time my 3 year old had a seizure on board & pneumonia... so Disney turned around the ship for us to head back to the US so he could get US medical care and we didn't have to pay the $35K for a medical evacuation (since we stupidly didn't have trip insurance).

We have a 3 1/2 year old and an 11 month old who is crawling/starting to walk. Any advice on HOW to keep the baby occupied/busy for 7 days on the ship??!!! I'm freaking out thinking I'll be sitting in that tiny pool with 1-inch of water for 4 days on board!!! Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, any highlights of the 7-day vs. the 3-day that you would recommend?

I hope to meet you on-board. How does that happen???

DH is out with the sniffles and sore throat so will chime in for him today. We picked up our cruise documents, Yeah! We have mostly packed. Have to do the reverse packing thing like Rainy to make sure have not forgotten anything (or that kids have removed items from suitcases). I'm having a hard time finding a long slip for a very skinny 7 year old DD. She needs it under her formal dress as she scratched all through her Christmas program cause it was "super itchy".

All this cold weather is making me super ready for some fun in the sun or at least some weather above 40 degrees for more than one day. And can't wait to meet everyone.

MADs DW ...Melissa

Hi Jenntish :goodvibes. So sorry to hear about your last trip, but I'm glad to hear Disney took care of you. :thumbsup2

Are you planning on using any of the babysitting services onboard? Also, I never did the 3 day, so I really can't compare. But, I think you're going to love the 7 day!

I think they are planning some meet times. I think you would need to PM kshabare. She has the info.
