This cruise is almost sold out, but I can't find a thread anywhere so I figured I'd go ahead and start one. Nothing like taking a cruise just a few days after most folks return to work and school from the holidays!

So, who else will be on the ship with us?

you are not alone! we will be on the wonder jan. 7. me, DH, 3 kids....first cruise ever!

Woo hoo!! Someone is out there! Nice to meet you! You will have a blast, though I'm sure you'll leave feeling 3 days just isn't long enough. This will be our 4th cruise, though our first on the Wonder and our first under 7 days.

I'll have DH and DS5 (turning 6 that week) and DD3 with me as well.

we are actually going to disney world from the 1st to the 7th then getting on the cruise...i know 3 nights is quick, but have to get the kids back in school. Any tips for a first timer?

take care,

jen

oh, my son is 6 too, he will be 7 in Feb.....my girls are 17 and 14.

Cool that our sons are fairly close in age. They should be in the same age group in the Oceaneer's Club and in the kids club on Castaway Cay if you plan on using either of them. My son was in the Club on the Magic for the first time on our cruise last December and really enjoyed it. I'm not sure how the Club works on the Wonder, since the cruises are shorter and the kids probably don't have as much time to "bond" with the castmembers in the kids club, so it's nice if they can make a friend or two.

I can't provide you with any suggestions for the older girls, since he's my oldest, but I'm sure they'll have a great time. The teen club *looks* and sounds like fun.

If you have specific questions, I'd be glad to try to help with them.

Hi Both, we are cruising with you too. This is our first cruise :cool1:
We are so looking forward to new experience. Any advise or tips welcome!

welcome emma! are you traveling with kids? [hallsofva]It will be nice for my son to look forward to meeting some new friends at the club. I think we will definately use it even though it is a short cruise....looks like some grown up time!

Great to see another sailor! Keep them coming. A few more posts, and we may actually make it to a 2nd page of posts!! Hope everyone is doing well.

I didn't book this cruise until recently and the lowest I could get was a Cat 6 Guarantee room, so I know this cruise is full. The mystery question is who is sailing on it?? There's got to be more folks out there!

Where is everyone from? We're in the Northern VA area.

we are from central indiana...never took the kids out of school for vacay before....should be a blast! and how does one get upgraded to a royal suite anyway?!

Show up at the port early and be willing to part with almost $3k on the spot! It was so worth it!

My kids are in K or pre-K so I have no qualms about them missing school at this age. And probably won't until they get to High School.

Bumping to get us up to page 1 again!

The 90 day mark is approaching for any repeat cruisers to pay in full so they can book excursions, Palo and Nursery reservations. Then the pay in full date and booking date for everyone else is just 15 days behind. Has everyone decided what they're going to be doing?

Just bumping to get us back to the 1st page. It looks like I'm the only repeat cruiser who's chimed in on this cruise so far. This week is the week that the Silver Castaway Club members get to book Palo and excursions. Anyone want me to leave anything for them?? Course that also meant I had to go ahead and pay in full before then, but oh well.

Course the big question is, since we're doing a back to back cruise, do I actually book any excursions for this cruise or just take it easy??

Hi Guys

Keep forgeting to check this part of the boards as I spend so much time on the rest just reading:surfweb:

We are me (Emma 35) DH (Ceri 32) DS (lewis 12) DD (Sophie 7).

This is our 1st cruise and we are so looking forward to it :cool1::cool1:

If you have any tips or advice please share them with me. We have decided not to book any excursions as it is our 1st cruise we thought we could just get off if we want and explore or just enjoy the Wonder. Do you think this is wise or should we book something?

Will check this part of the board more now:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Emma and welcome! And thanks for posting so we at least made a page 2 of posts! Are you really coming all the way from the UK to do this 3 day cruise?? I hope you're doing something else in the area to make it worth your while!! I look forward to "meeting" you and your family as we count down to this cruise in just over 90 days.

I think we spoiled ourselves by making our first cruise a 7 day, and by the time we do this one we will have done 3 7-day cruises. I keep looking at the three day schedule and thinking, man, this is going to be over before we know it! The thing that keeps me interested though is that we're actually staying on board to do the 4 day cruise that comes after this one.

We are flying in from the UK on 12/29/09 and stay a week on I-Drive then we are going to stay at AKL for 2 nights then we cruise for 3 nights and go back to WDW for 2nights and stay at OKW. I know it's a bit of moving around but we have paid for our hotel on I-Drive for the 14 nights so we dont have to move all our lugage everywhere we go.

We booked the hotel on I-Drive flights and car first, we then decided on the cruise and as we have never cruised before and to keep the cost down we decided the 3 night was best to start (I'm already beginnig to wish we had booked a 4 night but dates didnt suit as we had aleady booked to go to Discovery Cove on 01/04/10):yay::yay:

I can't believe we are 90 days away tomorrow!!

That sounds like a great trip! I'm sure you'll love the cruise so much that you'll end up rebooking a future and longer cruise while you're on board the ship (at least you should!)
