We check in on Sunday. So In four days.

I’m not throwing a hissey fit over it (and I know you are NOT saying I am ). But in reality they have to know whether an entire floor is available in four days.

I would not change my reservation this summer either way. Again, graduation and birthday celebration. Just saying that I didn’t think I was asking much to know if an entire floor is available four days out. It’s a simple question. If not great, let me make a different room request. This 6th floor room is a favorite but knowing it may not be available gives me the opportunity to make an alternate request.

Totally understand! Hope it works out and congrats on the graduation! We'll be there the beginning of September and who knows where we'll end up! I don't really have any preferences this time, hoping for a renovated room and possibly a Murphy bed instead of a pull out. If you don't like the room you are assigned (if you get the text before you arrive), don't go to the room and stop at the FD first to see if they can change it for you. May not be the floor you want, but you may be able to have options for the location. You will have to report back on what you saw and if you get a new room.

Although I was mildly aware of some sort refurbishments, it never occurred to me that so many floors would be closed or to even check. How are they managing reservations with all those rooms unavailable? Glad I have 11 month priority booking!!

That's a good question. Maybe it's just space? Since they're converted hotel rooms they just may not be space to fold down another bed.

Edit: I did some looking into it and other than the AKV Value rooms, CCV is the smallest villa in square footage. So this might be it.

Maybe? The Cabins at FW are 533 sqft - sleeps 6
Value 1 bedroom at Jambo House 629 sqft - sleeps4
1 bedroom at CCV 675 sqft - sleeps 4

I can understand the fire code being applicable to the studio but am unsure how it would apply to the 1 Br?

The relevant fire codes probably pertain to occupancy of the egress of corridors and stairwells.

Thank you. I did “add on” to my request today for two options on the 7th floor with similar views to our favorite 6th floor. I’m sure it will work out fine. Just seems silly this close to not be able to say “sorry we cannot honor any requests for 6th floor rooms due to the refurbishment in progress.” A regular resort room, ok I get it. But it should be a reasonable inquiry from an owner of a home resort..

Someone on FB said they stayed in a refurbed 1 br. this week. They posted this picture of the Murphy Bed from Room 7110. I’m not sure how legit this is, since she didn’t post any other pics of the room, but thought I’d share. I’ll share if I see any more .

Wilderness Lodge Group, not CCV specific. Baffling that 1 bedrooms got it but not studios unless the shower rooms being different layout messed something up.

It was confirmed murphy beds months ago though. So I find this odd.

Could easily be a problem with space only in the studios or even more likely a weird roofline situation just in that room specifically. We were in a middle of the hallway room on the 4th floor of BRV in may and had a sofa rather than Murphy due to the utilities in the room. I was devastated

That's a bummer. Good to know though. I am hoping to see more 1 & 2 bedroom photos. Not liking what I saw in the studio... Weird mix of colors.

I know! I actually booked it as a cash reservation with a BB offer at the 11 month mark. I'm hoping it means the resort/pools won't be as crowded! I haven't heard of anyone being relocated, at least not yet. I'm not going until the beginning of September and they are supposed to be finishing up by then, guess we'll see!

I just booked a 1BR, checking in Monday 7/7. Thought it was odd that 4 nights were available in a 1BR with such short notice. Wonder if it means capacity just reopened? Maybe 6th floor was completed early? One can hope!

The entire villa used to be white, looks like they actually color with the accent walls in the bedroom and bathroom. I know people just threw the bed runners on the ground but I always liked them. The bed looks incomplete to me the way they do them now, just a sea of white.

Can anyone confirm for me if this is a drastic change to the bathroom? New tub?

Everything in this room looks the same to me except for paint.

Overall, I like the refresh. Like I said above, I miss the bed runners, I dislike the layered sheets thing that Disney does. Also, the teal colored rug looks odd to me, I'm not really seeing that color in the rest of the villa and it kind of clashes with the pillow on the sofa. Maybe it looks better in person?
