Well I had hoped I wouldn't need to follow this thread but since I arrive October 26th for 7 nights here I am. Right now I am 🤞🤞 for only positive news.

We are there 10/28-11/7.

I can't even believe this is happening! 😂 Between the shutdown and the airlines, now this, I'm already over this trip and we haven't even left yet!

best of luck to you! pack your ponchos!

The 2 PM map with the path models don't show any development toward the Florida coast. Yes it can change in the next 7 days but the computer models don't favor this happening.

Thanks! Whatever will be will be. We are there long enough (10 days) that we should have some decent days! If it does rain a LOT, we've got ponchos, rain jackets, umbrellas and good attitudes.

I have only just seen this thread pop up so apologies if I have missed some previous information. But if This does end up hitting Florida what are the expected dates? Hopefully no one gets affected by it!

At this point, it doesn’t pose any threat to Florida.

It is expected to stall and the water is warm. So it will pick up intensity. How much intensity it will pick up will factor in to where it goes. But it’s unlikely it will go to Florida.

Looks like it will be a pretty big hurricane. 😞

They still say low risk to Florida, but not zero risk. Thing is we get there Tuesday and they said won't even know for sure until later next week because it's so slow moving and we will already be there! We are there until 11/7.

Hope anyone in its path stays safe and I hope damage is minimal.

The threat for Florida depends a lot on how quickly the storm makes the turn to the northeast. The longer it heads west, the more likely it could be close enough to affect south Florida. Local news at 6pm was still saying it won’t affect central Florida, but they were very serious and no longer smiling and confident. Made me wonder what they know that we don’t. Most of the computer models I watch are showing it going over some part of Cuba. It means keeping a close eye on it for the next week or so for sure.

Well we will be at Boardwalk on Tuesday. I'm sure we will be okay and if parks have to close for a day or so, so be it. As long as people stay safe!

Jamaica, Haiti and DR are expected to get torrential rains as it stalls out and sits there for days.

Still seeing no threats to Florida watching local weather.
