~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Stephanie - so sorry to hear about your dad.
Here's hoping the cruise can give your family some rest and escape from reality.

So I had a dream last night too. That our luggage all went missing. It's sort of a replay because that's what happened when we flew to Barcelona for the Med last summer so I guess it will be a nightmare I have before every vacation from now on. As long as it comes out like last time (everything arrived just in time to make the ship), I'm good. But we will definitely be packing a change of clothes in the carry on as we had for Europe....just in case..

Stephanie, welcome, and we understand what you are going through. My DH lost his mother just before Christmas last year, and his father passed at the end of September, and had been very lonely without his wife. (They were married 63 years.) They were elderly and not in the best health, but still. So, I am hoping that this week away is a nice diversion for him.

Yea, Stephanie!

Yea, Heather! We'll be neighbors!! :) (Ok, none of that "honeymoon noise." We have a small kid in our party. hehe
HAHA not a problem. Def. not our honeymoon. it's more of an early 4 year anniversary cruise. We will beahave. :oP

Congrats on your stateroom assignement. It makes it a bit more exciting doesn't it? I have been in 2542 (just next door)-loved the room location, especially during showtimes, port days, and to grab late night yummies from Beat Street.

def feels more real! I was starting to wonder.....I am so glad to be midship. we were very close to the same location on the wonder in June and loved it!

So sorry to hear about your dad. My DH's dad passed away this summer and it was a very difficult summer for us. SO sorry you are going through that. :grouphug:

Finally, My FE gifts are packed, labeled and ready to go. I couldn't fit everything in the box that I wanted to send down so I called the motel and I'm going to send another box to them and they will hold it for me until I get there. YAH WHO. One more thing to mark off my list. But every time I mark one off I usually think of a couple more. :(

This is our last weekend for Outdoor Soccer. Re-certifications and a tournament that I'm in charge of. It's a small tourney, so I will have plenty of time to sit and think what I will be doing two weeks from that very moment AHHHHH, the smell of the sea and the wind on my face.

I managed to find one desk top in my office, there are still two more to go.

So jealous, tonya!!! You are awesome Can you come help me???

If I beg? :worship:

I plan to get started again tomorrow! Is it alright if I don't label the kids' bags? Or should I label them? I have my info on the cabin gift...but didn't know if I should do the kids as well? :confused3

Yay!!!! NO WORK FOR FOUR DAYS!!! REPEATING!
NO WORK FOR FOUR DAYS!!!!

(and for my Daddy....Happy Birthday, Marine! We love you and miss you!):flower3:

Tonya - Congrats on finishing your FE's. That is a load off your mind, eh?

Laura - Grats on your room assignment ... you're now my neighbor too. Ditto for you re: the "honeymoon noises." hehe

I woke up this morning thinking that my cold is finally gone. I thought I'd get a little exercise in so I won't be a complete whale on the cruise. Clearly, my body didn't agree. My sore throat came back with a vengence. And the cayenne pepper trick didn't work this time. :( Pre-DS, I NEVER got sick. The last time I was sick was when I got the chicken pox in Jr. High!! Frankly, I think daycares are just a big germ breeding ground. Yuck, yuck. Gonna try to take a Tylenol PM and hope that it'll knock me and my sore throat out 'til the morning.

Have a good night everyone!

I would love to run the 5K, but we have the Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel Adventure planned at 9:30a. Unless they open the gangway early & run the race in time for me to join my family, I won't make it.

My husband will be running the 5K on Castaway Cay.

Tell me more! Do they do a 5k on CC for every sailing ... or are we special? :rotfl:

I won't run it, but might consider walking. Are there prizes for finishing? :lmao: I've always thought that the ONLY marathon I'd EVER be interested in attempting would have to be one at Disney!

Hi everyone...just to post that my dad passed away this morning. He has been missing my mom so much since she passed away in June. While we knew it was coming, and we were so blessed with the time the past few weeks, it is final. DH and I have managed to keep this cruise secret so far from our DD. We have our stateroom assignment, 6133. Very happy to be on deck 6, although we originally were on the 4 night on Nov 28th in stateroom 6642...traded our verandah stateroom for an inside but 3 extra days...happy to take it!

18 days until we set sail! I also decided to book Boatswains directly today...I paid $92 for all 3 of us for the entire marine park, including transportation from the cruise pier. That is the cost for 1 adult through DCL. 12th DCL cruise, and 1st excursion on our own, not booked through DCL.

DH Peter DD Kayla (age 6)

Stephanie,

I am so sorry for your loss. I just hope that as each day passes you find comfort knowing that your parents are both at peace together.

I actually looked up some info on it last night and found out that it is really just a 5K "fun run". You can walk, run or jog and you get a waterbottle at the end once you finish. It is for all ages, adults & kids. You would get off the ship at 8:30 with the rest of the runners and start at the Castaway Cay sign...a cast member shows everyone the way.

I so wish we could have done it! I run an hr on the elliptical everyday now that our 1st round of P90X is done and thought that the 5K Castaway Cay would be something new & different for that day! I mean, who gets to run on a private island everyday?

Hi Everyone,

Haven't been on the Dis Board in a while. My DS plays hockey so its drive to rinks, wait , drive to another rink. Games in Ohio, Chicago etc. Can't wait not to have to drive someplace!!

Anyone swimming with the Dolphins in Mexico ? I have signed our group up.

:cool1:

Wow I didn't know you could walk this 5K. I am NOT a runner but would love to do this at my pace - a sort of jog/walk kind of thing.

I'm smelling a DIS BOARD run on Castaway.

Rachel, are you taking a stroller on board with you? That's one idea, and you never know you might ask the people in Flounders and see if they might be able to open up a little early. If you don't ask its an automatic no and they love to spread some Disney magic.

I'm at work this morning trying to find a boo boo in the check book. I found it back in May now me and white out are best friends.

Steph (VA-Tink) I would be glad to come help you finishing up your FEs. But my house needs to be cleaned, clothes to be take to the dry cleaner, obsessing over my packing list, etc. SO if you would take care of those for me. :)

We are super excited and talk nightly about the cruise. I even told my ex that I was going, so it must be official. :rotfl2:

Well the White Out is calling my name so I must return to work. Thank god for the dry line white out.

We were on the cruise in August a nd DH and I wanted to do the 5k, but it was listed in the navigator as an adult activity. DH and I have run 11 races this year (5k, 10k), and want to complete 1 more for 12. I run/walk, DH runs, and DD (6) even did one with us on July 4th. I was going to ask this time if she could do with me, as I will just pace with her. I am hoping she really can do with me as we will count this as #12. I am training for the WDW half marathon in Jan, so I may do it with DD, drop her off iin Scuttle's Cove, then go run it 1-2 more times to get my long run/walk in for the week.

Ummmm, since I have the same chores here (that I am totally ignoring, thank you very much) I guess I will finish my FE gifts. I have already finished the next step and have gotten half of them through the following step. It's drying that slows me down...and that's all you get to know......;)

Glad I have the next few days to get things done...I desperately need it.

I guess I could throw a load of clothes in the wash, but all the cruise clothes are clean....guess I *COULD* wash the other clothes in the hamper.....
:rolleyes1

Our condolences.

We live near Baraboo, (northwest of Madison). We have lived here over 17 years now. Wisconsin is a beautiful state. I would love to hear about your experiences at work. Can't even imagine. popcorn::

We travel to that area often to visit the Wisconsin Dells. We drive up from the good ole Hawkeye State several times a year. That area is beautiful, especially in the summer and fall! It is one of our favorite places! We have friends who have told us we should just pack up and move to the Dells since we spend so much time there.
