My wife & 5 year old Daughter have just booked the 11.27 cruise. I've enjoyed reading through this (& other threads). Thanks to all for your thoughts & tips. We've been on a Baltic Symphony cruise and this will be our 2nd cruise. I suspect we'll be repeat customers...soon!

Welcome Michael! We have only cruised once before (on Disney for a 3 night to "test the waters") and we loved it. We booked this one while we were on board because we wanted MORE!

So excited that our date is drawing near...now just have to make a list and start working on it to get everything done (especially tthe FE!)

We received gifts anonymously as well as with the sender's info last year. So, it's totally up to you! I told you there are no rules.

REMINDER: TODAY, OCTOBER 6, IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP FOR THE FE LIST!!!

I'm so looking forward to getting the final count so that I can get to work. I've already done three gifts for the adults but the kid gifts that I'm making haven't been started since I need their names to personalize them. Thanks for organizing this!

Welcome Michael to our little band of misfits.

I hope all is well. We've had a good week with soccer and great weather. Cold in the mornings and hot in the afternoons. You never quite sure what to wear, but you dress in layers.

We too are getting excited. Getting to say NEXT MONTH is our vacation is very satisfying. I've been working on the packing list. I keep one for each vacation so its not a lot to work on just some tweaking here and there.

Has anyone heard about what the Castaway Club gifts are this year? I know that you get your castaway level color lanyard, but I wonder what else. Jeff, your the last to cruise, care to share?

The board seems to be picking up with the proximity to our vaca that's NEXT MONTH. (ok, I love saying that).

Off to work on my door decorations this morning after I get my real job done.

Has anyone heard about what the Castaway Club gifts are this year? I know that you get your castaway level color lanyard, but I wonder what else. Jeff, your the last to cruise, care to share?

Believe it or not Tonya, I don't remember! We are "gold" and it seemed we got the same things as last cruise - the CC bags, water bottles and a notepad of some kind and maybe a pen and a Rice Krispie treat. But there may have been more that I don't remember. Between our luggage being lost at the moment we saw our room and the jet lag, and then the kids tore open the bags...For this cruise, I think it's going to be a surprise to me too!

Didn't even realize we get CC gifts?? Do we get those when we get there or on the boat?

As for what to wear when traveling - it's always the same for me: jogging suit with t-shirt and shorts underneath for a quick changer-a-roo.

I've got the "family FE gifts" down. Now just need to figure out what to get for the kiddies.

OMG...will this rain ever stop? It has now been raining for 3 days straight again and is cold & bitter! I sooooo can't wait for the nice Caribbean sun

As for our 1st day attire...DH will wear shorts & one of his many Mickey shirts, same for DS. DD will wear a cute sundress or shorts outfit & I will probably do the same. We were going to get shirts made up, but I figured for the price we could buy something on the cruise that we would get more use out of.

I have everything ordered for the FE gifts and will be putting them together as soon as I have all the parts in hand. We decided to do "family" packages of things that reflect or are made in our state.

We have all of our packing lists done, door magnets & thank you cards (for tips) printed and all of our spending money separated & secured in our vaca savings account. Now on to beginning packing phase, getting our send ahead box done & a couple of last minute purchases (toiletries, etc)

You guys are making me feel like a big slacker! I haven't made progress at all on my FE gifts...or packing lists....or magnets....I'm excited about the trip but must be in denial that it's coming up so quick because I haven't gotten anything done!

Annabel - if this is your first cruise, you won't get a CC gift in your room (sorry) but you will on your next cruise!

I think what Jeff remembers hazily lmao is correct from what I've read on the boards. Red/Black bag with flip flop rice krispy treats and maybe something else. We are only silver (2nd cruise) so whatever Jeff got had something additional that the silvers won't get. Clear as mud?

Rachael - I am with you on being done with the cold rain! Today is miserable AGAIN and I'd just like to see the sun soon!

Looking forward to NEXT MONTH for the cruise!

Still no word from RachelAtt, but as it is her wedding cruise, I am thinking she doesn't need to add this to her list of things to remember to do/bring!

Morning fellow "next month" cruisers!

Wow! I'm with Darcy, y'all are definitely putting me to shame on the FE stuff, but I have 85% of my stuff, just need to work on putting it all together. I flip-flopped about half way through about what I was going to do, so I will have a per-cabin gift that has stuff in there for the kids, and then a per-cabin gift for the adult-only cabins. Being a 'newbie' at this I decided to try and make it easy, then got the list from Darcie last week and decided I had made it harder!

My magnets are done, but not printed. Need to work on that when there aren't so many people at work Still need to work on tip envelopes etc,...again when the color printer at work isn't likely to spit my stuff out in the middle of someone's work project.

I have given zero thought as to what we will be wearing the first day!

Woo hoo! LOVE saying "NEXT MONTH" as well!

If I remember correctly, as silver members last December, we got the black and red bag, two rice krispy 'flip flops', a small black notebook with pencil, and a silver ships wheel keychain. Sulley took that and I want one, so I'm hoping they are still giving them out! Oh yeah, and your lanyard in your CC color. This is our first cruise as Gold, so I don't know what the different gift would be!

I have my magnets done....in my head....guess I need to get busy on that one, huh? At least get the design on the computer!

I have the first stage of the FE adult gifts done, the easy part, of course. For the kiddos I am taking the easy route. Too stressful to figure out what's 'cool' and what's 'lame' (do they still say lame?) I'm probably lame! But I like the adult gifts. Do we have any adult cabins where there are two adults that are just friends traveling together? I want to make sure I give them both a gift.

As to what we will wear, probably polo shirts and jeans, with shorts and tees/bathing suits in our day bag.

Lots of people put magnets on their door to decorate (and make it easier to find!).

There are lots of threads with creative people on the board that will make a DISsign for you, and personalize it too. Then you print on magnetic paper, or print/laminate and glue on magnets to the back of them.

As for day 1 outfits, not sure. Last year I had DD and I in lavendar polos with Tink and DH and DS in navy polos with Mickey & Stitch. However, I am not a big fan of the background for the embarkation photos, so don't think I'm worrying about matching for that one this time.

We are flying in the night before and staying at MCO, so traveling day will be comfy clothes with our 'real' Day 1 outfits in the carryon.

Off to place my order to start on my FE gifts...

Okay, the pressure got to me! I just placed my order for my FE (through Etsy and a DISser that is on there) and my FE gifts (that I will have to do a little personalization on when they arrive).

I ordered our FE from Etsy too. My first experience with that particular website. I must say it went pretty smoothly and I can't wait to see our FE! I like I could 'make it us' so to speak...

We've sailed during the Christmas season two times, but usually the first week of December. The decorations are awesome and be sure to catch the tree lighting! It's very cute!

Definitely bring the Christmas beach wear!!! Look forward to seeing it!

We've snorkeled in GC, but I'm not certifible (though some people would dispute that ) because of ear issues. Sulley is a certified diver, but hasn't done any diving on our cruises. He hasn't done any diving in a few years now.
