So does anyone have any recommendations on restaurants to AVOID for CP? DH is a picky eater and I would hate for us to end up someplace with food that he won't eat.

TIA! :flower:

Hi, TCPShauna. I don't know the answer to your question.

I have liked all of the food at the restaurants listed for the CP package. I have favorites like the steak at Le Cellier, and the couscous at Morocco.

On the front page of this thread their are links to each one of the menus to each of the restaurants from Deb Wills web site.

Maybe your husband could look at those to see what foods that he likes.

Sincerely, Ray

Ok, well, I'm driving myself nuts trying to fit all these great evening Christmas activities in our itinerary!

Please check and see if this will work! If we get a 4:00 to 4:15pm CP Package for LeCellier, will be able to make the tree lighting at 6pm (maybe even ride Soarin), and then relax for a while looking at the lights in Epcot, go to the 8:15pm CP show, and see Illuminations afterwards? Will this work? We will be sleeping in that morning, so the kids should be ok. We'll just get them snacks to tide them over during the CP show. Any problems with this scenario?

Thank you!

What are children allowed to choose for the CP Package? Do they get an appetizer too and dessert? Thanks! (looking at LeCellier)

So we have changed our plans already. Anyone else do this? We are still seeing the CP on the same day but have now decided to eat at Alfredo Di Roma (as my friend has food allergies and this seems to suit her best, which pleases me as Italian food is my favourite!!)
So the plan now is to see the tree lighting ceremony, watch the 6:45 CP and then go for dinner at Alfredo Di Roma. If we see illuminations then great. If not we are staying at the BCV so can easily pop over to Epcot just to see illuminations on one of our more relaxing days (we already have to be in Epcot early this day as we have already booked the segway tour!!)

Just putting back on page 1, this gets too hard to find when it's a few pages back. One little question. I really don't know how to ask this but to come out and ask it. Just how religious is this? I just don't want to bring my DH if it's over the top. In our house Veggie Tales are OK but Bibleman is pushing it. I'm now hearing "It's a bible story that you've heard over and over and over again and you want to pay money to see it told again. Why don't you just read it." So if it's over the top I will see it on my own and if not I'll drag him along. :rolleyes1
Thanks
Tina

It's definitely the Christian biblical story of Christmas, no doubt about it. If he doesn't want to hear the religious story, then don't bring him.

I am so excited to see this thread. We are going over Christmas for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. We did this 5 years ago for their 45 and they both loved the CP. They just happened to be in town tonight and we were talking about trip plans when I stumbled upon this thread. My mom was so excited that they had announced the narrators. Our choice is Dec. 22, our last night, with Gary Sinise. He also did the one we attended 5 years ago and everyone in our group loved it. He was genuinely touched by the performance of the musicians and the story he told. I think we will try to do an early dinner at La Cellier and then head for the 8:15 show.

My mom has a hard time getting around and has a walker, so I hope we can get across the lagoon with enough time. How early should we try to book the dinner portion?

Hi, BWVPam. Have you tried renting a scooter from an outside agency. I have a thread on the Disability Forum explaining my experiences.

I guess you already know that you can take the WDW boat launch from BWV to the Epcot International Gateway.

WDW says you can call the WDW number on the first post on August 15, 2005 to ask to purchase a Candlelight Processional package.

The Castmember will ask for the date and time of the show that you want to go and then ask you where and when you would like to dine. They will help you chose a Advanced Dining Reservation. But make sure the dining time and the Candlelight Processional time give you enough time to get from point A to point B.

A lot of this depends on where you dine in relationship to the American Garden Theater. If you dined at the Coral restaurant, you would have to travel all the way to the other side of Epcot.

But if you ate at Japan, you could probably walk right out to the line.

Happy Planning.

Sincerely, Ray

Hi, triplefigs. It looks good.

I don't know your answer about the children's menu, but it would seem like if the children's menu had a appetizer, entree, dessert and drink on the menu, then they should get those things.

Maybe someone else can help you.

Sincerely, Ray

Hi, Danauk. The Christmas Tree lighting ceremony ends at 6:15 P.M.. Do you think that you can make it all of the way around the lagoon before the CP show starts at 6:45 P.M.?

I have done this using the standby line and not purchasing the CP package before, personally, I wouldn't try this with a CP package.

Best Wishes.

Sincerely, Ray

OK thanks for the tip Ray. Like I said we are staying at the BCV so I will probably pop over to Epcot on one of our more relaxed days to see the tree lighting instead.

Do you pay for the CP package when you book it or do pay when you pick up your tickets at the gate?

Hi, TurnR@TheMouseHouse. You pay for your Candlelight Processional Package when you book it.

This is what we plan on doing, we are going to try for 4:00 dinner at LC and try to get to the tree lighting ceremony and then the CP at 8:15.

As one who's done it (Tree lighting at 6:00, CP at 6:45), I wouldn't recommend it. I stood in the back of the stage to beat the crowds, then, since I was solo, I walked very fast over to CP when it was done. Although I had the package, the only seats left by the time I got there were in the very front row, right in front of the orchestra. So I definitely got blasted by the trumpets! That was OK with me, since DS is a trumpet player and I was very interested in the orchestra. However, later in the week when I went standby and sat further back, I got a much better view of the entire experience.

I ran into a problem trying that one year, maybe 4 or 5 years ago. They would not allow me to book a dinner that early with the 8:15 show, they have blocks of dinner seating times set by the showtimes. Hopefully they will let you do it.

Hi Ray, thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my mom does not want to use one of the ECV's. She said they are too difficult to maneuver in the congestion. My hope is that she can take the boat launch. We figure one of our group can hurry over to get in line and then the rest of us can join in when we get there.

I know the majority of people don't know much about professional sign language interpreters, and those of us who are "in the biz" always try to educate. When someone who's watched a performance I've interpreted says to me afterward, "Oh, that was just beautiful!" Usually, I just smile and say thank you and leave it at that before I step on their toes.

Sorry to get OT but, could you explain this please. I don't get it. Why is it not good to tell you that it was beautiful?? :confused3

Here's hoping for ressies for the 5:00 show and dinner at Rose and Crown afterward :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Can't wait!
