ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

I would love any suggestions on adrs and dining at the parks. This is my first trip since I was a child. It will be my dh, dd (2), sister, mom and dad. We arrive on on Friday may 9th. I was thinking about downtown Disney or chef mickeys? Then we are doing ak and mk on Saturday and Sunday. We leave for a cruise on the magic on the 12th. I know I might like to try bog for lunch at mk. I know I need to book the adrs soon, but I just don't know what to do! I am thinking about doing the dining plan

If your DD is into Characters I would try Tusker house for your AK day, if not then Yak & Yeti. For MK definitely do BOG for lunch if you can, dinner isn't that great but lunch is. In DTD we love Raglan Road and Earl of Sandwich. Haven't been to Chef Mickeys yet. But may make it there next trip!

How did you get free dining? I was told they won't release May specials until January or February.

Mine was through Virgin Holidays in the UK, so must work differently. We booked back in June of this year, but the dates were available back then. Not sure whether it's Virgin footing the bill for it, or if it's a Disney wide promotion.

My two cents: DTD - Raglan Road is awesome, but a bit expensive. Earl of Sandwich is great, but crowded. We don't miss an opportunity to go to Raglan Road! I would avoid T-Rex, because it is loud and would probably scare your daughter.

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern is a good lunch. Crystal Palace has all of the Winnie the Pooh characters and I'll bet your daughter would love that. BOG for lunch is what we are hoping for....we are going to try to use a Fastpass+ for a reservation at BOG.

AK - Yak & Yeti is delicious! We go there everytime we are at Animal Kingdom. I would avoid Rainforest Cafe for same reason as T-Rex....loud.

Our waitlist came through, so now instead of SSR we are staying at SKV-Jambo.

Also, our box with the jump drive came yesterday! Excited!!

CONGRATULATIONS on the waitlist, I know how it feels to just be waiting.

Chef Mickeys would be a must do for a two year old. I think that is a great way to start off your trip with a character meal and some resort touring/hoping. DD tends to get more crowded over the weekends and we tend to avoid it over the weekends.

Tusker House is another hit with the little ones for a character meal. Plus the buffet is awesome for the adults.

MK for little ones, you can't go wrong with eating the Castle or even doing 1900 Park Fare at the Grand or Ohana at the Poly for Breakfast or Dinner. I think there is some link that you can make reservations even for lunch at BOG.

Since your DD is two, you would not have to pay for her at any of the buffets. The only time you would have to pay for her is if you order her a meal. Even at CRT/Castle you don't pay for a child under 3 and they get pasta for free. Depending if the adults plan to eat desserts at every meal, you might want to check out the menus at allears and crunch some numbers.

May 29- June 3 at POR

Predicting a proposal from my guy, too. Super excited to get to finally go to a SWW! Lots of goodness going on for our trip.

Hi, We are travelling from Australia to WDW in late May for 10days. We have booked AoA LM room. I see that the beds are double beds can anyone tell me the actual size of the bed. Hubby and I are big people our 2 children are small so no probs with them fitting in 1 bed. I don't know if we should change our booking to PORR where they have queen size beds or go offsite. I'm really confused with the whole thing now. I have also seen that we will be there for Memorial weekend which I gather has quite huge crowds.:confused3

Hi tootifruitti! Welcome to the U.S.! Our family has a similar situation with the beds...and we decided it was worth a little more to stay at POR. Also, there are rumours that a 20% room discount may come available on Jan 6th. AoA is fun but for a 10 day stay I think POR is worth a little more to be comfortable.

Also, I would definitely recommend staying on site.....it's just more magical! Hope this helps!

Hey May travelers! I just called into reservations and inquired about a visa cardholder special. I was told that they are not allowed to give out information on when promos/discounts will be released. But she then said that I should call in tomorrow! *fingers crossed!*. Sent from my iPad using the DISBoards app.

Just called and got Disney Visa discount!! Saved over $500 on suite @ AoA!!!!

Yes!!! The CM I had yesterday was knowledgable!!! Saved $375 off of our Coronado room which works out to 30%. Not sure how that happened since it was to be 25% but whatever, I'm not complaining.

This means that we saved $30 by upgrading from AoA!

It's a room only discount based on level of resort and room, up to 30%. There's also a ticket special that you can get too! It's buy 4 get the 5th day free or buy 6 and get the 7th free. Stay dates from late February try June 15th, with some blackout dates thrown in. If good for Disney visa cardholders today and the general public on the 6th.
