ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

Oh god please don't tell me they are going to roll this out before our trips:scared:

I'm not ready!!!!!
Well I suppose I should make a plan in case I need it.

I agree with you mainly because I can't get the new app or web site to work for me! I can't see them going live with all of this if people outside the US can't get this to work. Though as others have noted there is something going on with the app and website so who knows.

Well, I clicked it.......and nothing happened. :confused3

Like actually nothing. A # symbol appeared after the URL but there was no change to the actual web page. So I navigated away hoping to try again but now I can't find the page again. Typical!
Yep, that sounds about right!:rotfl:

Just out of curiosity, I did an online chat to see what I could find out. This is what they said...

Lana: I don't think they are adding Disney's FastPass®+ yet because it is still in the testing stages. They are always updating the site. My weekend is Wednesday and Thursday and things changed in just those two days! Even when I went on the site from home yesterday, I had challenges. What are you trying to do?
Megan: I was just checking out my reservations. A few times, the reservations were not showing at all. Later in the day, a fastpass+ section popped up at the bottom of the screen. I couldn't do anything with it, but it was there, so I was curious.
Lana: They may be adding that on to all that have reservations, but if you cannot click on it and add it to your reservation, then it is just there for possible future use. Eventually it will show up for all who have a package reservation. Also, there will be additional testing, so keep watching your email. You may be lucky enough to be asked to participate.

:rotfl2:
Yes but now there is a super secret note on your resort file "Premature button clicker".:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

Well evidently I'm being punished because now I can't access the website at all! It keeps sending me to the old website. Let this be a lesson to you all: don't be a premature button clicker. Learn from my mistakes :rotfl:

I now have accessed MDE through Chrome vs. Safari, which I normally use. However, the only reservation showing up is my CRT reservation. My hotel and the rest of my dining reservations are not. The cute little things like my character etc are not showing up either.

I do find it odd that this is occurring in the middle of the day as mine was all squared away last night. I agree with ally he closure they are gearing up for something. Because closing rides in the middle of the busy summer season is about equal to doing your changes to your website in the middle of the day. I do have to wonder what is going on! :confused3

Yep. Between all the lengthy rehabs.. for rides that very recently had rehabs already, from all this website business.. they are definitely getting ready. I don't know about our August trips but I won't be surprised if I am using it on my December trip.

My reservations are all back on the site though. They aren't listed under "My Reservations" but they are there under "My Itinerary".

ETA.. nevermind. They are gone again.

When I first logged in everything was there but I went to change the park on 2 of my days and in the process, everything disappeared... I'm not worried because I have everything printed out but I'm really starting to worry about FP+ getting rolled out while we're there

I don't think they will roll it out and eliminate the regular fastpass system all at once. There will be an overlap period where both systems are available. I will try to stick to regular fastpass as long as possible because I like to be able to get as many as I can in a day and not be tied to just 3 in one park per day. So if given the option of testing it, I won't be taking it. There will come a time when it's unavoidable. Until then I'll wait it out.

Why just 3 fp a day? I don't have enough dis experience to know how many fast passes you could legitimately snag and use in one day, but having a "limit" is such a turn off I think.

Yep. Just 3. This would be the sticking point for people who are not excited about fastpass+. All information given at this point (and a lot of it comes from Disney themselves) says 3 a day. And those 3 can only be in one park. AND only ONE of the three can be a headliner. So on your MK day you could choose Space Mountain (a headliner) and Haunted Mansion (a second tier) and then maybe a spot for lunch at Be Our Guest but then what? Then lines. And who knows how those lines are going to be?
There's way more speculation than there is fact at this point, and most of the threads opened to discuss it degenerate into snarkiness and arguing. So really there's only a little to go on at this point. Who knows if they will change the amount of fastpasses available to book.

So, I now have one dining reservation showing up on MDE. It's my CRT reservation. I'm a little paranoid about all of this, but I called and all my reservations are still there. And they're showing up on the MDE ap on my phone, just not the computer. They reset my account and I used Chrome instead of Safari, but still no luck! I really hope this is all sorted out soon! It makes me a nervous nelly! :faint:

I feel exactly the same way! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that my August trip will be fastpass+ free. I'm soooooo not looking forward to this roll out.

Well since this trip is a gift and I have no intention of returning to WDW on my own dollar, I REALLY want to use the old FP system on this trip. I pray they don't have the "Plus" in working order by mid August.

In other news....
Wednesday night I was trying to convince Mom that we need to carry a park bag. Water bottle, ponchos, sun screen, snacks, camera, phone, KTTW cards. "Well we didn't carry a bag when you were kids" Again I had to explain that my kids aren't me and my brother. DD7 will need a snack, drink, take a pic, whatever and I want to have that with me in the 30 minute line while we wait. DD9 will ask me to hold her glasses, wallet, purchase, snack. The next point of discussion was back pack or cross body bag? Obviously we differ in our preference. :confused3 This sounds so familiar...did I post this rant already or am I just thinking about it too much?

Hi everyone I am joining in here.

I'll be there August 25th - 31st at Pop Century

I'm all about the crossbody bag for comfort but I guess it's individual. We carry a park bag on quiet days. If we want to get into the park quickly on a crowded day we skip it. Camera and KTTW cards go in cargo pockets and off we go.:)

During the last FP+ test the choices weren't cleared and a member here who participated was able to choose Space Mountain and BTMRR. Hopefully, that "non-tiered" system will remain in place when they finally do roll this mess out.

I'm really ok with 3 for AK, Epcot and DHS... it's MK where it just won't work for us.

I seem to be doing well with the new app. My resort and dining reservations have always been there and haven't disappeared since I added them. The only thing is for my nov trip DH doesn't seems to be added as one of our family member having breakfast with us. No matter how many times I try adding him he does not show up as dining with us tho it says 5 will be dining. Question for those seeing the Fastpass + button where are you seeing it and have you entered your ticket info? I haven't entered my ticket # from my AAA passes yet but hear I am better off not doing so.

OK I need HELP!! I am photosensitive so I need a hat for Disney and it has to be pink.(...at least I haven't gotten over the pink thing as of yet.) I have these options I like from ebay. It would be great if the hat were crushable 'cause then I don't have to wear it on the plane and I can stick it in my park bag when I go on a ride. However is the non crushable one cuter? It's nylon will it be really hot? What should I do??

Crushable and comes in either color:

Nylon, kinda crushable but would get wrinkled:

Crushable, but is it too ruffled?

I think I like the last 2 the best, but I'm not sure about how hot either would be...

I like option 2 i think it wouldn't wrinkle too bad if you folded it right, though option 1 looks like it would be airier
