ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

WE ARE FINALLY BOOKED! I know that probably seems weird lol but DH kept waiting and waiting and waiting for airfare to go down. I saw cheap flights into Tampa and a cheap car rental that we should have jumped on last week but he was convinced that flying directly into Orlando was going to get cheaper. Well, it didn't lol but we missed out on the cheap flights and airfare to Tampa so we just booked with JetBlue (knowing that if the flights get cheaper, we'll be given a credit and I'll have enough miles to get a free flight next time! Woo!)

Anywho, I didn't book the hotel because I was waiting for him to book the flights so finally! Everything is done! Now we just have to get out tickets (DH gets a little bit of a discount through work) and we are all set to go!

Haha this sounds like my mom! She was convinced she could get her 2 plane tickets down $50. Meanwhile our 4 plane tickets went up $75 a piece!! Finally I pressured her into buying, and the next week hers went UP another $50. Thank goodness we got them when we did!!

Oh! I also added an ADR for 8/17 at 5:55 at Narcossee's. It's for our 2 year anniversary :)

Here's the story behind Narcossee's (there's always a story right?! Lol). So June 2009, we were down in WDW for a big family trip. Whenever we do these trips, we take one night to ourselves for dinner and such. We had dinner at Narcossee's and had planned early on that we were going to go to the beach at the GF to watch Wishes after dinner.

So we packed our backpack with a sheet that we brought from home to sit on and a bottle of champagne that a friend had given us. We realized we didn't have any cups so after our amazing dinner, we set out to find those like plastic looking wine glasses that they have in Italy in Epcot when you get a glass of wine to go. No luck so we settled on the Disney Parks coffee cups lol classy, I know lol.

We got to our spot and set up. Being that we are us, we started having a sand drawing competition lol. I wrote "Meg and Mike," he drew "M+M," I drew a flower. Then, they started playing Wall-E about 50 feet away from where we were. So I got distracted and started watching the movie. 15 minutes later, DH says "Ok! I think I won!" So while still watching the movie (I get easily distracted when a TV is on lol), I walked over to where he was and looked down. He wrote "Will you marry me?" in the sand. I turned around and there he was down on one knee. I'm pretty sure I yelled some obscenities lol and he asked again and I said yes! As soon as I said yes, Wishes started :). So now every time we go to WDW, we go to "Our Spot" and watch the fireworks.

We haven't been back to Narcossee's since that night so I'm really excited to go back!

Ughhh! Isn't it so hard to just watch it go up?? Everyday I kept saying "We need to book, the prices are going up." The next day "Michael, seriously, we need to book this. It's not going down." Finally, last night we were at his parents house and I just yelled "Michael! It's only going up! We need to book this now!" And his parents (who go down all the time because they have a condo in Kissimmee) said "Michael! You still haven't booked it yet?! Go upstairs and do it now! It's not getting any cheaper!" So they made him do it lol

57 days to go!!!
I am officially excited again today:cool1:. I was in so much pain from that toothache most of yesterday and the day before that you could have told me I was leaving for Disney right now and I would have told you "NO!":sad2:.
But the antibiotic is working, and I get this stupid wisdom tooth out once and for all next Wednesday:).

Awwww...how cute!! DH proposed at dinner at Alfredo's in Italy and then we had a prime viewing spot to watch Illuminations. I even got a copy of the song "Promise" that they play at the end of Illuminations to use as our "first dance" song. :-) I was so sad that by the time we got back to WDW the next time around (with DS) Alfredo's had closed. Not as impressed with Tutto Italia and it certainly didn't have the fettuccini Alfredo I loved! But we do have an ADR on our anniversary at Via Napoli which I really liked last year.

Great engagement story! Today is my 8 year anniversary with my wife. We have a Disney tie in to our engagement too. We were living in California and flew to Michigan so I could meet her family and ask her dad for permission to marry her. I proposed on Christmas Eve in front of her family. The day after Christmas we flew to Tampa and spent a few days in Florida. One of those days we drove to Orlando and visited MGM Studios for the day. The morning we went to MGM we did a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant, which kept us off of RNRC but we still had a blast and enjoyed the Christmas parade and the Osborne lights.

Next year we are planning a trip in June and depending on when exactly we go we may very well wind up celebrating our anniversary there.

It'll be 8 years for us this year too! August 6 which we will spend at MK and Epcot. Happy Anniversary to you and your DW!

There are a few different ones that essentially do the same thing. Frogg Toggs, Enduracool and The Chilly Towel are the ones I've heard of. They can be found on Amazon and most of the local sporting goods stores.

I checked Touring Plans today and the numbers had gone up since the last time I checked. Interestingly I felt like last Labour Day weekend (Sunday) was a 9 at the MK. It was soooo busy. We waited in line for 45 minutes for POC. The line was a good 20 minutes outside before it even moved inside:eek:. That had never ever happened to me before in that week.
When I came home I checked Touring Plans and I think they said it was a 6 or something like that. I remember saying to my husband there was no way it was a 6 that day. I think they've adjusted this years numbers based on last years.
MK has EMH until 2am Sunday night..so they are expecting heavy crowds.

Thanks to the both of you for your responses. Pigletto, I'm going to have to check out our schedule again. Might have to do some tweaking.

DH and I did not get engaged at WDW, but we did spend our honeymoon there.

Oh cool! The kids' ages are similar too! Maybe we'll bump into each other.

I've been having a lot of stress dreams about our trip, but last night I finally had a good, positive dream where everything was going perfectly! We're getting so close!!!

I just about did online check in last night but just don't know which would be safer to do for connecting rooms. They certainly are there in the reservation and I understand they trump any other request I would make so maybe it doesn't make a difference. I was thinking if I requested buildings that where a little away from the bridge like Aruba 52 and Jamaica 42, or maybe really radical and Barabdos 15, I might get both the connecting rooms and a building I want. Mostly I'm trying to get one that wouldn't put us looking out over the parking lot as I'm only getting a standard view. We are walkers so we don't mind that part of it. Barabdos 15 doesn't look like it would be a whole lot longer a walk to the main pool then either the Aruba or Jamaica ones just around the end of the lake rather then over it. So what should I do check in now or wait till I get there? If do online and I get there and they haven't given us connecting rooms how hard is it to see if it to try to get it changed? If we didn't get connecting rooms it would be more difficult for us but certainly not the end of the world, though the kids were looking forward to having a bed to themselves and not sharing with one of their sisters. Of course DH and I would have to split up as I understand even though our oldest will be 16 she can't stay in a room with her sister as there has to be someone 18 years in it....how do all these dance/cheer/sports group manage to do this? Oh well any advice on this would be helpful!:crazy2:
