Sooo... I was just checking my credit card statement and realized I was charged around 1.50 per reservation I made a few days ago... Is this the new way that Disney holds reservations made with a credit card? (BOG, CM & Ohana) or is this some sort of error?

I had the same thing with me, but I would assume that they do it to make sure it is a valid credit card in case you no show.

Second. I know there is not much known about the new fastpass+ and i'm not worried about debating the good the bad and the ugly, but I was wondering, this change shouldn't affect our trip in early August correct? If anything, it should still be in the testing phase, right?

Third. I am soooooo looking forward to some mickey waffles, ohana dinner, and cream cheese pretzels. mmmmmmmm

2. I am with you on not bothering to follow the debates too closely - I am happy to wait until something definitive is announced. However, everything Disney has hinted at and mentioned has had the new FP+ system rolling out this spring. If that is the case, it will affect us in August.

Hello everyone! My family most likely will be moving our Nov 2013 trip to Aug 2013 due to changes in the school calendar. I'm a teacher so we need to plan around that. We were plannng on going the first week of Nov since I usually have off(yes, we're from Jersey) but as of right now, my district has moved fall break to the week of Thanksgiving instead of the week of teacher's convention. So now we're thinking that we will go the last week of Aug instead.

I'm a little nervous about going in Aug due to the heat. We've gone to Hershey Park 3 times in Aug and my kids didn't deal too well with the heat. And cranky hot kids turn us into cranky, hot parents....it isn't pretty!!!!

A little about us. DH and I are in our mid-30's. We'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on Aug 2. DH has been to Disney multiple times since his family used to go every other year. I went in HS twice with the marching band. We did a trip together back in 2005. Yes, it's been too long since we've been to Disney!!!!! We have 2 very active little boys. Our older son will be turning 5 in a couple weeks. He is looking forward to eating breakfast with Mickey and riding the runaway train(that's what he calls BTM) Our younger guy will be 2 in June. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse(or Gik-ee as he calls it) and Doc McStuffins. He also does a mean Donald Duck impression....he makes a quacking noise that sounds just like angry Donald's quack!!!!!

We're not changing our plans officially just yet because even though the calendar was approved, it is still subject to change. We should know whether or not we're going in Aug instead within the next few weeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to get all the ADRs we want since I know the 180 day mark for that week starts in a couple days plus there are people who have already been booking since they are at the 180 +10 mark.

Welcome! We're celebrating our 7 year anniversary, but ours is an alone trip. So it'll be your boys' first trip? You'll have a blast! We've gone twice now with the kids, and while our second trip was fun, there's nothing that compares to watching your kids at WDW for their first time. Everything's so magical! I would just go ahead and book ADR's as soon as you're able to, so that way if plans change you'll be all set! August in WDW is definitely gonna be hot, but we didn't find it too unbearable when we went mid-Sept in 2011. It was crazy hot and humid then too, but it's not terrible at Disney. Lots of AC and shade. We definitely made use of misting fans though, they were a lifesaver for the kids.

I don't know about the fastpass+, but isn't it in testing phases already? I haven't been reading up much in the other forums lately, but I thought I read it was starting testing this month. Think it will be possible ready by August if they are? It would be neat to try I guess, as long as the regular fast passes are still available though. If they do away with the regular system completely, I will be one unhappy lady!

And I agree! I can't wait for Ohana, jalapeno cream cheese pretzels, Le Cellier filet and mushroom risotto!

It should reverse in a couple days, they just need to verify that it's a real credit card and not a bogus number.

Looks good to me AleedraS! We loved your first 3 picks, but haven't tried the last 2 but I've heard lots of good things about both.

I managed to get my ADR's made this morning. I thought I'd have no trouble since I'm in Canada and I can still see the old website, I've never even seen what the MDE site looks like so I thought I'd be fine. Nope. Got up at 4:00 am (my time) to be online when the site opened up my dates but it wouldn't let me link my reservation to get the 180+10. So then I had to wait up until 5:00 am so I could call to book them. Didn't get off the phone until 6:00 am just to have my kids start waking up. Talk about tired!!

Anywho, here's what I booked: (Some of these I'm not sure about, but figured it's safer to book and cancel later rather than searching for a ressie later. Mainly Crystal Palace as we've been twice but I'd love to get in before park opening for pictures. Also I'm unsure about Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room, anybody been? Worth it?)

Love looking at everyones plans. I did some major changing today. We were going to go to Sea World on one of our days, but we just really don't want the headache and the extra price of traveling there, so I had to revamp some of my park days. I am sure it won't be the last time. The only thing I still haven't been able to get is BOG. Even on the first day of my ADR bookings, I could only get BOG for 8:00 pm which is just too late for my LO to eat, so it looks like I won't be able to do it this trip, unless something drastically changes. That is the one disappointment so far. Everything else has worked out the way I wanted and with the times I wanted. Just wish that BOG wasn't so hard to come by.

Keep checking. People change their reservations all the time. Often a few opens up right around the 30 day mark too. Good luck!

Here's to hoping it's a mistake. I was told that they would only charge if we were no-shows. I used my debit card to hold them too, hope this isn't happening to everyone. - not that I am glad it happened to you Whereisalyssa!

It should be a temporary hold. I had one for our trip in December and kinda freaked out, but it disappeared after a day or two. It's to check that it's an actual valid, credit card. You can always call Disney and double check, but that was my experience.

Thanks for the help everyone! I'll definitely keep and eye out to see if those charges disappear and if not I'll call Disney and ask about it! It makes sense though that they are just checking to see if it is a valid card

Well, most ADRs are done and pretty much got what we wanted, except BOG. There is good news though, it is NOT sold out, the CSR told me that they are having a problem with that week, it was released and then taken back so they are not able to pull it up. She said to keep trying online and it should be ok. I could not get HDDR or Brown Derby Fantasmic online but got them when I called. I did use the iPad and was able to book online past the first day.

I had cancelled Kona and booked CM, but I think I'm going to switch back to Kona or or maybe 1900 Park Fare. I can't decide. Really I just need another day!

I did think about that, and then I thought about how nice it would be to be able to sleep in and still have everything done for me haha.

Wednesday, August 28th: Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Ohana located inside the Polynesian Resort

That being said I did get everything I wanted with the exception of BOG on the 27th, or any day for that matter.... So now time to see if we get lucky and get it somehow or to think of alternate plans.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Got an earlier time at Whispering Canyon on the 11th for 5:15pm in case we go ahead with the plan of doing the Pirates & Pals fireworks voyage.

Switched back to Kona on 8/16 at 9:35am since we're doing the Chef Mickey's dinner. I hope that's all the changes I need to make!

I have recovered from my ADR adventure. I called in right at 4 AM and had to hold for 35 minutes. Then I made all our ADRs. Only two for an earlier time than I wanted. The Rainforest Cafe was dependant on the Ohana Dinner. I wanted 6 or 6:30 for Ohana, but they only had 5:10 or 8:30. I chose 5:10, so that made Rainforest time to be moved up too. I was done with my call at 4:54 AM.

Here is what I ended up with:

I made two time changes to mine. 8/21 CM went from 7:10pm to 5:10pm and 8/22 Cape May went from 8:40am to 8:00 am.

And unless I can change times for LC and BOG(ha!) I think I'm set!
