I have recovered from my ADR adventure. I called in right at 4 AM and had to hold for 35 minutes. Then I made all our ADRs. Only two for an earlier time than I wanted. The Rainforest Cafe was dependant on the Ohana Dinner. I wanted 6 or 6:30 for Ohana, but they only had 5:10 or 8:30. I chose 5:10, so that made Rainforest time to be moved up too. I was done with my call at 4:54 AM.

Here is what I ended up with:
8/23 - Rainforest Cafe@11:45AM
8/23 - Ohana@5:10PM
8/24 - Sci-Fi Dine-In@5:30PM
8/26 - Akershus@8:20AM
8/26 - Biergarten@7PM
8/27 - 1900 Park Fare@5PM
8/28 - Crystal Palace@8:10AM
8/28 - Cape May Cafe@7PM
8/30 - Raglan Road@7PM
8/31 - Ohana@9AM

That is all of them and now I can relax some.

Looks great! I'm glad you were able to get everything you wanted! Weren't you going to do Raglan Road twice?

Made our ADRs!! Website and app didn't work, so I ended up just calling.
So here's what we have:
8/20 - dinner at Fulton's -5:00 (DH won) :rolleyes1:
8/21- lunch at BOG (no ressie - just a plan)
dinner at Chef Mickey 5:30
8/22 lunch at Via Napoli 12:30
8/23 lunch at Biergarten 12:45
8/24 breakfast at Hollywood and Vine 8:00
dinner 5:30 at 50's prime time
8/25 Rainforest Cafe 9:00 breakfast
8/26 Crystal Palace 8:15 breakfast!!

I am super excited about the CP breakfast before the park opens. I think it's what I am looking forward to the most.

We might change a few things around as we get closer, and there are a few places we might try to get in when we are there - but we aren't counting on it and we know we have the most important ones locked in. :cool1:

Now I just have to book the photopass- and order ears for DD. :)

We will be at CM the same time! We have a 5:10 ADR for 8/21!

Hey Jaz!

Just noticed you are staying at SOG. Are you or your spouse active duty?? My husband is Army and we are stationed in Fort Meade, MD.

Yes, My DH is NY Air National Guard! We have stayed at SOG a couple of times and I am very grateful for the military discount Disney offers so that we can stay at my beloved Poly!

Thank you to you and your husband for your service!

Oh! And I just noticed you have a son named Jackson. My son is also named Jackson and is 5 1/2!

Sooo... I was just checking my credit card statement and realized I was charged around 1.50 per reservation I made a few days ago... Is this the new way that Disney holds reservations made with a credit card? (BOG, CM & Ohana) or is this some sort of error?

Here's to hoping it's a mistake. I was told that they would only charge if we were no-shows. I used my debit card to hold them too, hope this isn't happening to everyone. - not that I am glad it happened to you Whereisalyssa!

It should be a temporary hold. I had one for our trip in December and kinda freaked out, but it disappeared after a day or two. It's to check that it's an actual valid, credit card. You can always call Disney and double check, but that was my experience.

Hello everyone! :wave2: My family most likely will be moving our Nov 2013 trip to Aug 2013 due to changes in the school calendar. I'm a teacher so we need to plan around that. We were plannng on going the first week of Nov since I usually have off(yes, we're from Jersey) but as of right now, my district has moved fall break to the week of Thanksgiving instead of the week of teacher's convention. So now we're thinking that we will go the last week of Aug instead.

I'm a little nervous about going in Aug due to the heat. We've gone to Hershey Park 3 times in Aug and my kids didn't deal too well with the heat. And cranky hot kids turn us into cranky, hot parents....it isn't pretty!!!!

A little about us. DH and I are in our mid-30's. We'll be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on Aug 2. DH has been to Disney multiple times since his family used to go every other year. I went in HS twice with the marching band. We did a trip together back in 2005. Yes, it's been too long since we've been to Disney!!!!! We have 2 very active little boys. Our older son will be turning 5 in a couple weeks. He is looking forward to eating breakfast with Mickey and riding the runaway train(that's what he calls BTM) Our younger guy will be 2 in June. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse(or Gik-ee as he calls it) and Doc McStuffins. He also does a mean Donald Duck impression....he makes a quacking noise that sounds just like angry Donald's quack!!!!!

We're not changing our plans officially just yet because even though the calendar was approved, it is still subject to change. We should know whether or not we're going in Aug instead within the next few weeks. Hopefully, I'll be able to get all the ADRs we want since I know the 180 day mark for that week starts in a couple days plus there are people who have already been booking since they are at the 180 +10 mark.

Welcome to the August board! I recognize you from your post regarding your dilemma of when to go. As you will see from this board, we are all excited about August and many of us are repeat August travelers! The heat is tough, but being that it's a slower time of year and prices are lower, you can probably make your vacation a little longer. Then take advantage of your resort pool for breaks during the hottest time of day and visit the parks in the morning and night. There are also a few threads floating around with tips on beating the heat.

We just moved to August as we were supposed to go this April but the mega blizzard caused us to lose our April vacation days! I'm a teacher in CT and am excited that they changed our calendar for next year to start later allowing for a late August trip when the prices are cheaper (woooo!) and the crowds are lower (double wooooo- first I moved us to July but then had a heart attack when I saw the crowd calendars!!)

I LOVE Hershey. We went every summer as children (couldn't afford the mouse every year) and I can't wait to bring my kids there some day.

We are me and DH 30's and DS just turned 4 and DD also turns 2 in June. Keep is posted of your plans!

HI fellow August travelers! Ive made my ADRs...any opinions or suggestions are welcome.
8.6 crystal palace 8:10am

8.7 CRT 5:50 pm

8.8 o'hana 5:20 pm

8.9 chef Mickey 8:05am

8.10 whispering canyon 6:25pm

Well?

Looks good to me AleedraS! We loved your first 3 picks, but haven't tried the last 2 but I've heard lots of good things about both.

I managed to get my ADR's made this morning. I thought I'd have no trouble since I'm in Canada and I can still see the old website, I've never even seen what the MDE site looks like so I thought I'd be fine. Nope. Got up at 4:00 am (my time) to be online when the site opened up my dates but it wouldn't let me link my reservation to get the 180+10. So then I had to wait up until 5:00 am so I could call to book them. Didn't get off the phone until 6:00 am just to have my kids start waking up. Talk about tired!!

Anywho, here's what I booked: (Some of these I'm not sure about, but figured it's safer to book and cancel later rather than searching for a ressie later. Mainly Crystal Palace as we've been twice but I'd love to get in before park opening for pictures. Also I'm unsure about Wolfgang Puck's Dining Room, anybody been? Worth it?)

Aug. 24
8:05 am - Tusker House
6:35 pm - Cape May

Aug.25
5:30 pm - Flying Fish

Aug.26
7:30 am - Captains Grill
6:00 pm - Coral Reef

Aug.27
8:10 am - Crystal Palace
5:20 pm - Ohana

Aug.28
8:30 am - Captains Grill
6:00 pm - Wolfgang Pucks Dining Room

Aug.29
6:00 pm - Le Cellier

We've been to Ohana, Le Cellier and Tusker House before and they're our must-have favorites. Crystal Palace is fun as well, but I'm not sure if the cost will be worth it when we've been there twice just to get in the park early for pictures.

Just thought I'd post a few random comments and questions...

First. I hate the new website. What a pain....

Second. I know there is not much known about the new fastpass+ and i'm not worried about debating the good the bad and the ugly, but I was wondering, this change shouldn't affect our trip in early August correct? If anything, it should still be in the testing phase, right?

Third. I am soooooo looking forward to some mickey waffles, ohana dinner, and cream cheese pretzels. mmmmmmmm

That is all :)
