DH & I talked about our reservations tonight, which is amazing in and of itself as normally as long as I have his wants covered he's good, and decided that seeing our friends was far more important than exactly where we ate. As much as it pains me to cancel a great reservation time at BOG, I know that our next trip they won't be there so we can surely squeeze it in then and maybe by then youngest DS will eat more than chicken nuggets and french fries! ;) In all seriousness it will mean a lot to spend time with them and the easiest thing to do seems to be the dinner. Now I'm wondering if I should try for one reservation for 8 vs. the two reservations of 4 at CRT?:confused3

Keep trying, you might be able to get it. I just read a review of BOG lunch yesterday and it sounded soooo good, and the pics looked sooo good. Check it out at Disneydiningreviews.com We are now definitely going there for lunch and dinner. Hope you get the ressie for 8! Have fun with your friends, good friends are worth it no matter where you are eating. And seeing the girls after BBB will be fun.
I have 2 girls and we are doing DYI-BBB in room. I am going to make them over and bring costumes, much cheaper. We don't let them wear make-up aside from Halloween, so they are excited. Hope it's not too hot that day, LOL, melting mascara!

On the subject of EMH, my only worry is this...I purposely booked CP before opening on a regular opening day at MK. This is so we can run(walk with purpose:thumbsup2) directly to ETWB at RD! Has anyone had the experience where they change the opening to an earlier time?

Congrats on getting all your ADR's! This happened to us during our Dec 2012 trip. They changed the park hours and our 8:10 reservation was 10 minutes after opening, not pre park. :( I was bummed, but we love CP so it was ok. I just wanted empty park pictures! ;) It is the first and only time I swat he welcome show! ;) Since we were there opening week of New Fantasyland it was mobbed and we honestly mostly stayed away because you seriously couldn't walk, especially up by Ariel. (We rode that when we had a fast pass, but it made my husband's PTSD act up, seriously!) I think you'll be fine as long as they don't open he park early, and even then you'll still have time to get to ETWB fairly early, just possibly not at RD.

Yes, we will be in the parks on 8/28, we will have been to all parks at least twice, and we have Hoppers so we are open to anywhere, we leave on 8/29, that is a no park day and our flight is around 1:00pm

What about Sci-Fi or Prime Time or Via Napoli or Akershus? Or if you want to be at MK, Tony's or Liberty Tree Tavern? Sorry I have a million suggestions!

I was thinking Via Napoli, so maybe we will go for that, we have been to all the others, so we wanted to try somewhere we have not been for our last night. We don't necessarily have to eat in the parks, I was debating Captain's Grille at Yacht Club. I know so many people rave about O'Hana, but the menu doesn't look that great to me, but I almost want to try it just because so many people on the boards rave about it!

Can I ask everyone a favor... I am a long time Disney lover and have been there many times. However, when reading peoples posts some are using just the first letters. Many times it's fine like ADR or BOG (common terms) but sometimes it's not possible to figure out what the poster is saying. I love reading posts but I tend to gloss over the over use of letters. I hope I didn't offend anyone and TIA.

We are most definitely trying Via Napoli on our next trip. We're doing almost all new restaurants and I can't wait. Plus, I don't think you can go wrong with Via Napoli as everyone raves about it! I think we are also going to try Whipsering Canyon Cafe and maybe Kona Cafe. I also want to try the Grand Floridian Cafe. O'hana is raved about, but the menu has changed so I don't know. We couldn't get a ressie last trip in Dec after we changed our dates so I've kinda given up on it. Is that horrible?

I thought about Whispering Canyon Cafe too, seems fun! Just wondering how the food is there. I think I may try Via Napoli for our last dinner, but we do have the possibility of another dinner night if we wanted to go to Whispering Canyon, it was going to be a night to stay at AoA possibly, but we could change it. I love having 9 days to play with, I have never gone for longer than 5 days, so this year is a big treat for us!

I am trying Whispering Canyon for breakfast for the first time this August when we go! I was going to suggest Ohana for your dinner reservation. My sister and I went last June and we loved it. I talked about it so much my husband made me book it this year, and when I asked my sister where she wanted to eat this time around, the only place she said was Ohana.

I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype, but it was really yummy, plus I love the poly!! We had a late dinner, then sat on the beach, watched the movie, then watched the water parade and the fireworks. It was a good way to sit around after eating SO much food!

What about Cape May Cafe? There are lots of choices at the buffet. Captain's Grille has always been good when we have gone too. We are going for 9 nights also and have been enjoying different ADRs.

There's a page @ allears.com listing the abreviations. I think there's one here too.
Some of it's f&w food and wine fest, or ToT tower of terror, but I get cought up with the 4 letter abreviations. Part of learning the Disboard ropes.

Changed my ADR's around. I can only imagine what these are going to look like come August! :lmao:

8/11 - Whispering Canyon Cafe at 6:40pm
8/13 - Cancelled BOG and made reservations for CRT at 6:45pm
8/14 - Cancelled CRT and booked Chef Mickey's at 6:50pm
8/15 - Cancelled Yak & Yeti and booked Rainforest Cafe at AK for 1:15pm

I had cancelled Kona and booked CM, but I think I'm going to switch back to Kona or or maybe 1900 Park Fare. I can't decide. Really I just need another day! :rotfl2:

Thanks! I was pleasantly surprised! Well, you experienced my worst fear and you survived ok so i guess I will too...if it happens! I'm hoping for some empty park pictures too! It must have been crazy that week but exciting too!

It was exciting to be there, but we didn't go to the park until MVMCP on the official opening day which helped ease the blow a lot. There were a ton of journalists there all week, both at our resort (Art of Animation) and the parks. The only area I really noticed it being super crowded was in the New Fantasyland area and that was mostly because once you're up by Ariel there's only one outlet due to the construction of the Mine Train ride. I hope that there will be more than one when that is done. I think you'll be fine either way. It's just disappointing when it happens and takes some time to adjust the mind frame, but other than that you'll enjoy yourselves and have a magical trip! I'm still crossing my fingers that this doesn't happen to any of us this August! pixiedust:

Woo Hoo! Got all our ADRs within 15 min of the time we were looking for. It wouldn't work on the laptop so I used my iPad with no issues. Had to call for Hoop de & f! Waited on hold for 45 min.

I see that so differently. I would rather make my ADR's myself. I have the control. If something isn't available then I make the changes right there and then. I used a TA once and decided never again. I realized I'm a control freak. I want, what I want, when I want it so I just do it myself :crazy2:

I did think about that, and then I thought about how nice it would be to be able to sleep in and still have everything done for me haha.

But here is my list of ADR's

Thursday, August 22nd: Dinner at 8:00 p.m. at T-Rex Café located in Downtown Disney

Friday, August 23rd: Dinner at 5:15 p.m. at The Garden Grill located inside Epcots Land Pavilion

Saturday, August 24th: Dinner at 6:05 p.m. at Hollywood & Vine under the Fantasmic! Dining Package

Sunday, August 25th: Lunch at 1:00 p.m. at Crystal Palace located inside Magic Kingdom

Monday, August 26th: Dinner at 7:30 p.m. at Tutto Italia located inside Epcots Italy Pavilion

Tuesday, August 27th: Dinner at chef mickeys

Wednesday, August 28th: Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at Ohana located inside the Polynesian Resort

That being said I did get everything I wanted with the exception of BOG on the 27th, or any day for that matter.... So now time to see if we get lucky and get it somehow or to think of alternate plans.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I get all of that and know all of that. I'm just saying it's easier for people to read posts when they don't have to decipher. I really would rather not use a guide to read a post :rotfl:

Got an earlier time at Whispering Canyon on the 11th for 5:15pm in case we go ahead with the plan of doing the Pirates & Pals fireworks voyage.

Switched back to Kona on 8/16 at 9:35am since we're doing the Chef Mickey's dinner. I hope that's all the changes I need to make!

I have recovered from my ADR adventure. I called in right at 4 AM and had to hold for 35 minutes. Then I made all our ADRs. Only two for an earlier time than I wanted. The Rainforest Cafe was dependant on the Ohana Dinner. I wanted 6 or 6:30 for Ohana, but they only had 5:10 or 8:30. I chose 5:10, so that made Rainforest time to be moved up too. I was done with my call at 4:54 AM.

Here is what I ended up with:
8/23 - Rainforest Cafe@11:45AM
8/23 - Ohana@5:10PM
8/24 - Sci-Fi Dine-In@5:30PM
8/26 - Akershus@8:20AM
8/26 - Biergarten@7PM
8/27 - 1900 Park Fare@5PM
8/28 - Crystal Palace@8:10AM
8/28 - Cape May Cafe@7PM
8/30 - Raglan Road@7PM
8/31 - Ohana@9AM

That is all of them and now I can relax some.
