Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, Oct 30th,2010 Magical Western NewTR link 4/10

You are a terrific advertisement for cruisin'.... I am definitely tempted. Thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

Now Pods just hurt my feelings..... cause you KNOW how sensitive I am.....

Well, that was SOME wine, huh???? When you said you were writing a love letter to my family, I had no idea. I was a little, er, wrapped up last night..... ;) I will not only send you postcards, I will rub a little bit of Pluto's burger juice on it, just for you....... OK, I was gonna say "Pluto's juice" and that just sounded wrong..... and a little like my poor Buckeye's problem...... :rotfl2: I'd better stop now before I get in trouble......

Now who had the good wine? :lmao:

Oh snap--Ellen that gnocchi throw down sounds like a challenge. :rotfl2: Now when Miss Kara wanders her way to Minnesota this summer I will have to pull out all the good scandinavian treats....walleye, northern pike, lefse, torsk, lutefisk, krumakke--oh the smells...yummy.

Yes I am nuts and everyone has vetoed me and my "day" trip to Orlando:rotfl: Something about me being a bit crazy.

I too am excited for the DISmom geek off.:dance3: I think I may have to deffer to Ellen and Kara on all of the knowledge of the treat at Epcot. Kara it sounds like from your plan we will be doing a lot of traveling around the world (I SAW the ditch last time but I wasn't able to go in....silly kids were tired)

While in Atlanta, we are headed to the world of Coke....I plan to have my angels share the love of Beverly with my BIL...hee-hee

Okay, you are making me homesick and very hungry for a fish fry! The only good fish in the world, I think. Can't eat it from here - the water is too warm. Love, Love a Northern!!! Ummm, why do you have lutefisk and krumekke in the same sentence?:confused3 :goodvibes

I say it because there is a small shop in South Minneapolis that has all of the treasures in it and yes all those smells are co-mingled. That is horrible that you can't have a good shore lunch. Having a craving for some beer batter fried blue gill sunny right now....drooool. I just don't want to go ice fishing to get some. I'll wait for warmer weather.

....this is the 2nd time in a row that whenever I read your trip reports -

I start to drool.

....and reach for the closest mini-bag of Chex mix.

I think I am turning into a Dog.;)

SEE PICS OF FOOD.....drool like a Homer whenever he sees a donut.:lmao:
(I am referencing post #856)

It's ok...I can handle it.

Keep em coming....I love itpopcorn::

CYA!!

What a wonderful recap of dining extravaganza, Ellen! Hmmm, could you pour me a glass of that Chardonnay you're having - must be good! :rotfl2:

I'm going to say that May 6th probably won't happen for me - so far Jim is wanting to skip doing "anything big" for next year and save money to help the kids with our 2013 family gathering at WDW. If my business suddenly soars, who knows? It could happen - I know it will be lots of crazy fun!:cool1:

That Chardonnay (which I normally don't like) was SPECTACULAR!!! :worship: It was Ramey 2006 from Sonoma. OMG, it was a beautiful thing, that wine! So complex!

Sorry to hear May won't happen, but it sounds like you need to save points- what are your 2013 plans? We just invited Pods' younger bro (& family) to join us for 5 nights in Nov 2012- GV at Jambo. We're going to beg his Mom to come, too- I think she would love AKV, she really likes animals, and I doubt she has ever stayed in a hotel as nice as that in her life- it would be so special. :goodvibes Then our family will move to BWV or BCV for 4 nights. :thumbsup2

I wasn't kidding when I texted you!! I spent my whole Friday night writing that- well, when I wasn't slugging back Chardonnay, that is...:rotfl:

Kara's going to Minnesota? When's that happening? You are going to have to supply some food porn to go along with all those fancy foreign words you just spewed....NJ has seafood, not as much river/lake food. What's krummake?

And I have to say I agree with them- 8 hours each way just to eat a Mickey Bar seems just a tad over the edge....

And I can guarantee that in May you are going to see a WHOLE NEW DISNEY with us- it's amazing what you can do when it's all about YOU vs. all about THEM. :)

Ellen -
Great food porn recap, especially enhanced by the chardonnay! You make cruising sound so great and I really want to go next May. Really, I do. But I think I might have said something to Denny a little too soon cause he got all wigd out. But he did let me buy more DVC points, so that's good....right?

I hate when the DHs wig out! Pods has been doing that too- although he was all for me going on DCL with girls...I think because he knows too well that if I don't go then, when it costs him for one person, it will cost him for four people instead! :rotfl:

And yes, that was VERY good that you got your 100 points. More points is BETTER!!!!:rotfl: DEFINITELY!!!!

You are a terrific advertisement for cruisin'.... I am definitely tempted. Thanks for sharing your trip with us! :goodvibes

:yay: May 6th will be a blast!! It's so easy to be a good ad for it- best vacation, most relaxing, most fun. I LOVE to cruise on DCL!!

Now who had the good wine? :lmao:

EXACTLY!!!!

Ok....I really need a Minnesota guide for Dummies here...I need food porn & diagrams!

great report!

Thank-you for saying so! :goodvibes

Pods says, "Kara! Don't be askin no stupid questions!!!"

Bwahahahah! El, you crack me up!!! :lmao::rotfl:

i have to dig thru my pics to find any food porn of Minnesota fare. ...LOL the smells won't translate well. Krumkkake is awesome! It is a light and crispy ice cream cone shell like thing it is filled with whipped cream and lingonberries...aghhhhh I am droooling just thinking of it.

Kara is headed up here for a funeral this summer. I'm kidnapping her for a few days. I will see her next week when I am in GA as my sis is just an hour or so from her place.

We had a little while before we were leaving, so we wandered around DTD until it was time to go. First, we stopped in the Christmas store to pick up an ornament for my cousin, Sheree. I also got a new antennae topper for me, which the CM did not pack. UGH!!! This has happened to me several times in WDW- I really need to be anal about what those kids ringing up my merchandise are doing!!!

OMG, it was soooooo crowded! I guess it is just really crazy here on the weekends? :confused3

IMG_0870.jpg

Next, we went to check out the Harleys, and after waiting 15 minutes for one family to take 500 photos, it was our turn to take one-

IMG_0871.jpg

IMG_0872.jpg

Next was Ridemakerz to check out the cool cars-

IMG_0873.jpg

And then Magic Masters- where Timmy just HAD to get some cards-

IMG_0874.jpg

It is VERY entertaining in that store! When you see how some of this stuff works, it's kind of like, " OOOOOH! Why didn't I figure that out???":rotfl: Tim was REALLy excited to have a magic trick to show his friends when he got home-

IMG_0875.jpg

We went to get some Ice Cream, and although I REALLY wanted to go back to Ghirardelli for that, we were just cutting it too close and Haagen Dazs was right there...so we settled. :upsidedow

IMG_0876.jpg

Although the sun was bright, it was still awfully chilly, so I passed. Nothing spectacular, the boys just got some cones. And then...it was time to go...:sad2:

Oh well, all good vacations must come to an end, I suppose! Never makes it any easier to go, though! Bye Bye Disney- I'll see you in May!!

IMG_0877.jpg

Thanks so much for keeping me company while I relived our cruise....hope you'll follow when I start a new DISmoms TR this May!! :yay::yay:

Ellen :flower3:

Great report as always Ellen. So sad to see it end. But we have the DISMoms report to look forward too. Which is such fun to read.

Thanks for the enjoyable reading!

Another great report Ellen! Thanks for taking the time to let us live it with you and keeping us amused.:hug:

What an amazing TR. It got me totally psyched for my trip a few weeks ago... I never would have heard about Nachi Cocum - which turned out to be my favorite day of the cruise. I'm still getting all my pictures together - but I may actually do a mini TR.

I'll introduce myself if I see you around Scotch Plains

Thanks so much for your report. My Western on the Magic is still 9 months away so it was nice to get a taste of it ahead of time. It's so great when people finish their reports. I hate being left hanging. You did a great job and I enjoyed every minute of my reading! :surfweb:

Thanks so much for keeping me company while I relived our cruise....hope you'll follow when I start a new DISmoms TR this May!! :yay::yay:

Ellen :flower3:

Why, I think I'll join you on that new TR...... ;) And thank you for giving me all the tips I'll need for my cruise in 18 days!!!!! :cool1:

Did you ever read the Sesame Street Grover story "The Monster at the End of this Book"? If so, that is just how I feel....like I can't possibly turn the page because if I do, it will all be over! :sad2:

I've really enjoyed reading your report, re-living the trip and seeing the same things from a different perspective. I can't wait to read new ones that you may do, so that I can keep chatting with you! :)

Sad that your TR is over!! Can't wait to read the next one in May! We'll be there May 1st in a grand villa at AKL Jambo House. Can't wait:cool1:
Thanks again for sharing your pictures and vacation with all of us:)

:goodvibes Hey- how was the weekend in WDW? I am jonesin for WDW right now...May seems sooooo far away!

OMG it was AWESOME! It was supposed to POUR all day Sunday and wouldnt you know..not a SINGLE DROP of rain, it was absolutely gorgeous! Saturday was great- Kitchen Sink awesome as always at BC and we spent the whole afternoon, walking the boardwalk and just hanging out on the patio in the rocking chairs (wishing we had our suits when they stopped the carding and wristbands at SAB:rolleyes1 LOL)

Our room pretty much stunk it was a Hotwire deal and they had over booked the place so we did not get bed choice like we were supposed to, they had no cribs or pack n plays so at nearly midnight we finally had to get the mgr to give us a rollaway (for free normally they are $10). It was supposed to be a 3 star and it was nowhere near that...I'd say 1 1/2 at best. :headache: But we didn't let it get us down....

We had an AMAZING day in the park- got everything done (well except HOP and COP) and the good stuff twice (4x each for the kids), had some really good luck (did not -for the first time EVAH-) get soaked on Splash Mtn. both Sarah and Brendan got to star in the Monsters in Laugh Floor (we always have good luck in there, one of us always gets picked..although surprisingly Ron has never been "THAT GUY"...yet...), and we walked right up to a front row parade spot and all of the characters were wishing Sav a happy birthday from the floats (even Cinderella from her coach- how cool!!!) It was awesome. The phone overboard at IASW was the only bummer moment.

We will go to DHS in a couple of weeks or so probably for my BD and then save the last 2 days on our Wild pass for May! (we may...MAY... turn them into weekday passes at that point I think it is only $30/more per ticket so we'll see! Then maybe we can see you again in Nov! :rolleyes1)

Did you ever read the Sesame Street Grover story "The Monster at the End of this Book"? If so, that is just how I feel....like I can't possibly turn the page because if I do, it will all be over! :sad2:)

Totally. :sad1: Maybe that's why I'm dragging my feet so bad on mine! :confused3;)

Bye Bye Disney- I'll see you in May!!

IMG_0877.jpg

I'm gonna take this as a shout out whether you intended it that way or not! ;) What a lovely cruise, indeed! Thanks so much for taking the time to relive our wonderful memories!

Now where's that PTR link..?! :rotfl2:
