I remember Yelena!! She was our bartender in 2008 for the martini tasting and then she was the one who gave me THIS-

I am so happy to hear she got promoted, she truly deserves it!

Yelena!! I remember her fondly. It was after we had her for our tequila/margarita tasting, where I was already feeling the effects! We went to play bingo, found a seat near the bar...and like a mirage, she came in, poured me a delicious, STRONG margarita and then disappeared! I never even got a bill for it! This is what happened....

This is the last thing I remember until the next morning!

Not the best picture of her, but we saw her again later in the week for our beer tasting!

You may send me some of the 60 degree weather. This is our deepest snowfall since 2000/2001. Brrrr. It is 1 degree at the moment but my spouse said, at least it is above zero. Silly man.
We are planning to visit Oregon this summer. I am from the NW (Spokane) and we have been trying for many years to find jobs in the NW, preferably OR but WA will work just fine also. Problem arises in finding good jobs comparable to what we have here. Our summer visit is to scout out places we would like to live and then target those areas for jobs. Sorry I am rambling; I will attribute my rambling to "snow brain". I will now return this station to the regularly scheduled program "Ellen's Entertainment for her Friends".

Hope you warm up soon! We usually get a taste of Spring, and then get Winter back just in time for Spring break. poor kiddos.

We loved Spokane when we were stationed there!!!Let me know if you get to Southern Oregon - it would be fun to meet up!
When looking for a place to live, take a look at the taxes. Alot of people work in Portland and live in Vancouver, WA because there is no property tax up there and no sales tax in Oregon.

I don't know what you do, but Intel is expanding, I heard.

We are actually thinking of retiring somewhere out of Oregon. Hopefully somewhere warm, but this year that would be here!

UGH...we had a lot of ice this week- and we're having snow etc tomorrow again....I'm still ok with it, because I had the AMAZING break in STJ, but the first words out of everyone's mouths lately are "I am soooooo DONE with the snow!"



If you're making a bushwacker (or a pitcher of them) just remember...be generous with your pours! There is a LOT of alcohol, but you truly don't taste a drop!

You're welcome, Karin! And what's funny is that EVERYONE waits to eat- all 7 of them- until I have taken my pics. I find it very empowering with the men, who have the occupations of aero-scientist, business owner, and plastic surgeon. And CPA, but I already know I can boss him around any old day!

Um, Its 82 here, and they are redoing the A/C at work. It's been miserable. Not to rub it in...I wish we could all get some more reasonable temps, warmer for ya'll, cooler for me!!!

Then we would all live in San Diego or Hawaii! 82 sounds great to me! I keep telling DH that we need to retire to Celebration and work for Disney!

Ellen, the rain looks like a nice way to relax and enjoy a quiet day on the ship! So fun when you find such a great CM. Of course you would be able to make friends with any of them!

We napped almost through the ice sculpture demo on our last DCL cruise. I as planning to take it in, and I woke up on Deck 10 to a bunch of cheering - I went over to the rail and only caught about the last minute of it! I don't know how I slept through it! And Jim didn't even wake up at all!

We got the boys from Edge, we all changed (although why I felt the need to stuff myself like a sausage into my dress instead of keeping the other comfy one on I will NEVER know) and went to Parrot Cay for Semi-formal night and the Captain's Gala.

Tweeler made his best guess at Smoothie #1

Timmy ordered Herb Sauteed Shrimp
on spaghetti vegetables drizzled with garlic butter

Tyler had Wild Forest Mushroom Soup
swirled with white truffle oil

And Pods & I had salads-
Garden Fresh Salad
served with tomato chips and balsamic dressing

Californian Mixed Salad Leaves (although it looks like iceberg to me)
served with crispy smoked duck strips and toasted pine nuts

Tweeler contemplated Smoothie #2-

And Timmy laughed at him-

Because Tweeler got brain freeze-

For his main course, Timmy had gone with oven roasted chicken-

Pods chose Pan-Seared Venison Medallions
with marinated red cabbage, potato croquettes, and a port wine and juniper reduction

And he turned down the offer for a lobster tail on the side. How ridiculous is he? Tyler and I were having....LOBSTAH! Baked Lobster Tail
served in the shell with lemon butter, green beans and oven-baked rice

Tyler LOVED that Yadira removed it from the shell for him (and for me)-

They did offer to bring us more tails if we wanted them, but due to the earlier cheeseburger/steak sandwich/french fries/mac & cheese snack, I declined. I did, however, manage to find room for dessert in my sausage stuffed dress... we all had the same thing...and OMG, it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good! Warm Chocolate Lava Cake
with a double chocolate sauce

Mikey came around with vanilla ice cream, which made this dessert the bomb-diggity!!

Even Timmy skipped his usual Ummm Uhhhh...I'll have vanilla with sprinkles please-

Then, of course, this was the night they wished me Happy Birthday with a cake-

Which Yadira promptly took away and wrapped for us to take back to the room-

While we were waiting for the cake, the boys asked to be excused to go back to you-know-where. Of course, they stopped at the cabin to change- either that, or when we got back to the cabin to drop off the cake, we entered a crime scene-

Aaahhhhh...boys.....we also changed (OMG- soooooooo happy to get out of that dress and put on a freakin mumu!!) and then went to the Walt Disney Theatre to see John Charles, who was doing an adult caberet-

He was very talented- he knew EVERY song. Ever written. EVERY song. EVER written. He just could not be stumped! Amazing!! When he finished, we decided to call it a night- didn't want to oversleep, because in the morning, we were headed to paradise....Castaway Cay!

I have the TV on and Jerselicious is on- they are taking a cooking class at a cooking school (that I used to take classes at allllll the time) about a mile from my house. So funny!
