Chapter 17: No Nobby, the Animals here dont Eat Gnomes!
Day 4 our trip revealed a gorgeous Sunday morning and Nobby and I got up bright and early to head over to rope drop at the Animal Kingdom. Being a Biology and Zoology teacher I have a special love for animals so I was really looking forward to this day. Nobby and I made it through security without too many weird looks and it was off to the turnstiles. Okay, so raise your hand if you seem to have this problem too it would seem that it doesnt matter which turnstile I choose I will inevitably be behind the one that will not work LOL either way soon they were letting us in and it was off with the masses in search of the beloved Fast pass, but not before the morning opening show. I have to say I really like Animal Kingdoms opening show, not as good as Magic Kingdoms but it ranks up high Mickey in his safari gear that is just priceless and we all know I love me some Goofy. Here are a few shots I was able to get over the heads of those ahead of me LOL!
Then began the march to the Kilimanjaro Safari, of course only half of us when this way the rest headed towards EE. However I had a date with the single rider line so I was going to secure my FP for the Safari first! So once the FP were in my hand I decided to take my time and walk over to the other side of the park. As I was walking towards Asia I spotted a few friendly characters that I wanted to meet. King Louie has to be one of the most adorable characters ever along with Baloo from the Jungle book. Of the pictures taken of us together I have to say my favorite was this one of me and King Louie isnt he a dreamboat LOL!
Shortly after that I continued my trek over to Asia, stopping to take a few photos along the way. I have to tell you this morning in AK was just amazing and there were hardly any people in the morning (it wouldnt stay that way of course LOL). Here are a few of my favorite photos from my trip to Asia.
After taking a few minutes to admire EE I was off to ride Dinosaur! I really do enjoy this ride, the whole science feel to it, the going back in time, must be a thing with me because I love Ellens Universe of Energy for the same reason.
Dinosaur was great fun!! After Dinosaur I looked at the clock and realized it was very near Finding Nemo time. Now when I was making plans I wasnt sure which show I wanted to see Finding Nemo or FOTLK, however since I was close by and there wasnt a line out the door I figured you know what lets go see Finding Nemo.
After checking with Nobby who agreed this would be a fun show to go we were on our way into the theater. The theatre itself is amazing and just beautifully decorated for the show.
Nobby and I got ourselves settled in some great seats up on the incline first couple of rows. Nobby insisted on having his own seat so I obliged him.
The show was amazing. The music was great, the puppeteers were fantastic, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time and enjoyed every single minute.
After the show was over Nobby and I were ready for some adventure so over to EE we went.
By then the single rider line was open and it was a very short wait until we on our way.
EE was freaking awesome!!! I loved it, I ended up sitting next to a dad whose family was in the seat ahead of us. He asked if I was a screamer and I said probably LOL, and he replied good so am I LOL! It was a great ride and I couldnt wait to do it again!! Once off the ride I looked at my watch and saw it was getting close to my ADR time at Yak and Yeti but I would probably have just enough time to go do the safari. The FP window was up and they were burning a hole in my pocket. On the way back to Africa (where I noticed the park was definitely getting busier) I noticed a lot of people standing off to the side and just staring I couldnt figure out why at first but then I saw this..
Isnt she simply stunning!! I just stood there and watched her for awhile completely mesmerized. After awhile though I figured Id better give someone else a chance to see so I kept marching along to Africa. Along the way Nobby and I spotted a photopass photographer so we stopped to get our shot taken. I really like this photo too and as you can see it must have warmed up because I finally took the hoodie off WOOT!!
Finally after no more stops we made it to the safari!! Well what a ride it was, after backfiring (well at least that is what I thought it was, but boy was it a loud sound) and having another CM come down to make sure our vehicle was okay our poor driver he seemed very nervous about all of this LOL!! We were off on the safari
The Safari was AMAZING I got some really great shots and Nobby and I were able to see a lot of different animals we really liked this tour.
Now it was time for lunch LOL
