That is the spot I love to watch Wishes from. We stay Sago and sit at the marina.

What I'm posting here isn't groundbreaking news. But it's related to the GF Courtyard Pool construction so I figured I'd post it (moderator, if this isn't a helpful post feel free to let me know!)

After reading about the substantial change in the opening of the Courtyard Pool, I called the GF. Of course, I got the call center person but she forwarded me to the resort. The CM at the resort (name: Trinity?) looked up and read from something. She confirmed the Spring 2013 date. Prior to my call, I'd emailed Disney asking the same question (clearly I had way too much free time yesterday). After my chat with Trinity I got an email from WDW saying that Trinity was wrong and the Courtyard Pool is still scheduled to be open in December. I replied and got the following response . . .
=====================
Dear Chris,

I apologize for the conflicting information. From time to time, we refurbish our offerings in order to continue to provide a magical experience for our Guests. As a part of that effort, there will be refurbishment projects taking place at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
The most current information that we have at this time is that the Courtyard Pool is scheduled to reopen in Spring 2013. However, the feature pool -- The Beach Pool -- will be open to serve you, and a new water activity area is also available during your stay.
Gasparilla Grill and Games is also undergoing refurbishment and is expected to reopen as of December 17, 2012. In the meantime, we are pleased to announce that a newly enhanced Beaches Pool Bar and Grill has opened with extended quick-service food offerings.
The spa has also been undergoing extensive refurbishment and is reopening on December 17, 2012 as Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
In the coming months, you may receive a letter from the staff of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa with an update to the refurbishments being performed. Guests who are staying at the resort through February 2013 have been advised thus far.
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Sincerely,
Mischa Demonbreun

My husband is sensitive to noise I called front desk & itinerary specialist and both said no room assignments can be made now. Should I ask to speak with manager? I just don't want to leave it up to chance and also don't want to move to main building ($$$) if it really isn't necessary and possibly is noise of construction on that side of the resort bad too. I am nervous about this decison (as you can tell lol!) and this was supposed to be a huge trip for our family. any advice is welcome. thank you in advance.

I am very confused. He is sensitive to noise but going to go to one of the ' "noisiest" places on Earth'? How will the rest of the trip work out? Or is it that you are disappointed that the view you are paying for will not be the view you expected? For that I would be mad if they are not accommodating their guests paying for a particular view but getting a view of cement mixers and steel beams (granted my kids would probably love that!). I just don't understand how construction noise outside which every guest over there will have to live through can be much more different than other noises at the parks at times.

Pas...I keep checking every day, multiple times online and I call at least once a day too! So I'm hoping for some luck! They had it available all but 1 day and that day was right in the middle of our stay, I'm all for a split stay but having to move rooms two more times just wasn't sounding fun to us :)
Agreed!!!! BWI CL and RPC....fabulous! You'll have a great trip!!!

Well that is great news for people going in March. Hopefully they will finish up sooner than currently expected.

The luggage made it to the room @ 1am- which is really 10 pm my time (west coast time) kuddos to Miguel in bell services for tracking it down and keeping me posted on its' progress.
To those concerned about the construction I have heard no construction noises here in Sago Cay. As swimming in late Nov. wasn't on my to do list and things are tucked behind walls it's a total non issue for me.
Must say the resort is so nice it's hard to tear myself away to visit the parks good thing I have ADRs which force me to leave.

I started to go through the entire thread, but admittedly, thought it would be quicker to just ask all you GF experts: What is the actual mailing address for guests of the GF to receive a package. Thanks!

We mailed ourselves a package, but it was kind of a pain since we had to go to the business center ourselves to pick it up. Plus, it cost $10 to retrieve it.

We used the address on the Disney website: 4401 Floridian Way
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

hello everyone at the grand this week talked to a cast member the reason the pool is behind was they forgot to install the lighting in the pool.

I find this comical and silly. How could one simply forget to install the lighting for weeks on end when it is clearly in whatever constructions plans they have.

Looks like Disney is slipping! :rotfl::confused3

They forgot?! I hope they don't forget to fasten the bolts on Seven Dwarves Mine Train. Or forget to point the fireworks away from the crowd during tonight's Wishes presentation. Cripes.

I'll be staying at the GF next November and haven't been there in a while

Does any know/have access to the map/room layout of each building? I can access a map of the property but I'm looking for the building layouts with room numbers, etc.

Thanks!

We are going to mail our items tomorrow and plan on using USPS, I hear that you don't pay the business center fee because it will go right to the hotel.
