Trip Insurance - What am I missing?

I always buy trip insurance! I buy it directly though, not thru Disney, so I can customize my policy and it's cheaper. I have elderly parents that could change my plans at any time. One trip I ended up in the ER and ins paid my entire $5000 ( out of service area) bill, including $50 in...

WDW food compared to DLR food

At WDW it'd be hard to beat Be Our Guest for CS. Plus Flame Tree, Tamu Tamu, Boardwalk Bakery, Columbia Harbor House, Sleepy Hollow, France and Morooco all have a great variety of quality CS. I agree with whoever said I've never even had a burger at WDW, plenty of other interesting things.

WDW food compared to DLR food

For quality alone - WDW TS wins and CS is a draw For themes, character meals, atmosphere and variety WDW is far and away better

Chosing ADRs- Do you go for food quality or experience?

We go by experience first. I always appreciate a good theme which is why I love Disney. Second I try to arrange a good variety. Mexican one night, Italian the next etc. I don't even bother with reviews but I do check menus first. Actually, more like obsess over the menus :rolleyes1

    Newly Remodeled CBR rooms...disappointing?

Yeah, the avocado and rust colors threw me off. Not a fan of the drapes either. The first time I saw a pic of it I thought of the Brady Bunch episode when they go to Hawaii. It's just too similar to retro Poly for me. Maybe it's better in person? I do like the bathroom, white linens and the...

    Meeting characters with social anxiety

Princess Hannah I admire you for facing your fears. This thread is sure to help others as well. :grouphug: I would suggest you visit the character(s) first thing in the morning. Shorter lines will give you less of a chance for the anxiety to build. Plus the characters will be their freshest...

The New Caribbean Beach FAQ Part VII

Thanks so much phillipsjp2003 for taking the time to post pics :goodvibes I love the art work and lighting. I like the fresh crisp look of the white linens, but the furniture is so dark. I like the pops of color but wish it was more in line with the resort palette like salmon, teal...

    Good Neighbor Hotels

Is that during NAMM or something? What about the other side of the park where Best Western Stovalls and some others are? People walk in from that direction too via the GCH shortcut or monorail.

Don't like Hungry Bear's sweet potato fries?

^^^ too bad when you get different answers from different CM's :( I dont know why they would care, apples must be alot cheaper than onion rings etc. I do agree that packaged apples taste weird.

    Hight requirement enforced at RSR?

You are not in the clear until you are quite a bit taller than the minimum. My DD waited years to ride Indy. After months of home measuring and anticipation, she was finally tall enough. Next trip, it was our first ride! It was all she dreamed of and more. Later that night we got in line...

    Nemo seagulls?

We love the seagulls AND their droppings! :rotfl: Mine! Mine! Mine! Was a running joke on our last trip, and we bought DH the mug because thats how he acts with his turkey legs!

Don't like Hungry Bear's sweet potato fries?

For my family, the sweet potato fries are huge improvement over the blah white fries. They are crisp, flavorful and actually contain the vitamins that a vegetable should. DH got the apple slices with his adult burger last time @ HB. This is a much better option than fries, especially for...

    Smokers & Balconies

I wish I could find comfort in knowing there are some courteous smokers who ask their neighbors if its okay to smoke. But I dont want to be asked or put on the spot like that. Then I'm the uptight killjoy who has to say yes, I do mind. I guess you cant be mad at the smokers following rules, so...

    Smokers & Balconies

Oh no, I'm glad I read this. This may change my mind about taking a cruise at all. I assumed the rules were the same as at the resorts - no smoking on balconies. My daughter is extremely senstive to smoke giving her headaches and nausea. I must have a verandah because I'm claustrophobic. Bummer...

    HoJos worst?

For years I was the biggest Hojo fan, I had my specific room that I requested for our annual trip. It felt like home to me and I never understood how anyone could not like it. But I have discovered Priceline and haven't been back since. I can get the same or better rate at a 4 star hotel...

Why Shouldn't I Choose Candy Cane Inn?

I used to always stay near the crosswalk at Harbor, from Hojo to CCI. They are all fine. Then we went to WDW and this showed me that shuttles were not the end of the world. Ever since, we use Priceline at DLR. Its been easy to score a 3.5* or 4* hotel for much cheaper than the crosswalk motels...

Hyatt Mission Bay just refurbed their rooms and has a great new pool complex with slides etc. The Del looks beautiful though, I have always wanted to stay there.

pro/cons to an "end of January/beginning of Feb" trip?

We did 4 days at end of Jan. Perfect weather for 3 days, poured buckets one day. Matterhorn was running one side and was down on and off, so it always had a long line. Other than that, we used FP and our usual strategies and had minimal wait. We even got a last minute spot in the hub for...

    1st Birthday in the park

I think a great keepsake is the Silhouette Studio on Main Street. You could do one of just her and one of both kids, etc.
