    Peru – Adult only 20 – 29 Sept 2016 Trip report

Very funny. BTW your whole TR is funny and well written and kind of confirms the suspicion that this is might be the most physical ABD trip but also has a worthwhile payoff. ABD has been running the trip for so many years, they have probably seen it all and can handle most anything safety and...

    Business Class Flights to Europe

Agree on Aer Lingus, mostly. US to Ireland - excellent service, great price and seat selection plus all the flight attendants had the same blond braided hair bun which is .... uniformly nice (?) ("congrats, you're hired for Aer Lingus - grab a green dress and a hair bun") but the second leg...

    Business Class Flights to Europe

Flying now has all the customer service and glamor of public transportation but ... on the value of business class to Europe question, this thread seems to confirm that the answer is like whether ABD is worth it. You get a totally better experience which is worth it but is it in the budget...

Adventures by Disney with Celiac's Disease

Several in our family have Celiac disease (and tree nut allergies) which was a key factor on why we used ABD and for many if not most other families on our trip last summer some food issue was a big reason for choosing ABD. DCL, Disney parks and ABD all give an added comfort level w/ food...

Gluten Free/food allergies and travel in Europe

If anyone can handle it, it's ABD! True Last summer, ABD guides greeted us with a large bag of gluten-free snacks which lasted the entire trip. The guides had restaurants prepped prior to arrival for everybody's food issues. Cross contamination can be a challenge w/ English speaking wait...

"Is ABD worth the $$$?" Discussion thread

Money plenty well spent DS and DD are same ages as yours which probably allowed for a deeper appreciation of the culture side than the younger kids who seemed to have a blast in their own way too. One note about expectations, we liked the pacing but you move, which also helps to have...

"Is ABD worth the $$$?" Discussion thread

And while the faithful await another fine Say Hello TR & the Scots vote, a few fun facts from the guides that may or may not impact the “worth it” question - most popular ABD – Viva Italy (Americans looooove Italy) - avg. time to research & test run a new ABD – 1 yr (test run? sweet gig...

"Is ABD worth the $$$?" Discussion thread

Having returned from the ABD add-on to the Magic in the Med and had a few weeks to reflect on the "is it worth it?" question, perhaps the more compelling question is "how often can I afford ABD?" Most on this trip were prior ABD travelers and seemed ready to sign up for another even after...

    Palo and gluten-free question

To the OP, ate gluten free at Palo brunch last week on the Magic in the Med. Think the chef's name was Silvio(?). The pastry table is out of course but depending on your cross contamination concerns there are GF choices at the other tables with meats and fish. Chef explained what he could...

Just can't take the plunge - but I want to!

We did ABD back in the Early Booking Discount days, best vacation ever by far. Then the economy sinks but ABD ends the EBD and offers basically no discounts even while frequently and deeply discounting DCL and WDW hotels. Keep looking at great ABD's but can't, can't, can't justify the big $$...

    interesting Tauck idea...

If you do go to the TB website, you will find that their Red Rocks and Painted Canyons trip (SWS) sold out their spring mid April 2011 trip BEFORE the just posted the 2011 prices. ABD does not seem to do a SWS mid April 2011 though demand looks there. Guess they are some true believers in TB...

"The Spy Who Loved Me" -- exactly. When I saw DCL/ABD stopped at Corsica, I immediately thought of that white Lotus driven by the Roger Moore 007 off the dock into the ocean. For many of us of a certain age, exotic glamorous ABD locations, Bond movies come to mind I bet. "Where is...

Trip Report! ABD/DCL Mediterranean Magic Part 3 - IMAGE INTENSIVE!

Were there any costumed historical figures and what were the pins like? Didn't see anyone wearing lanyards.

    Golden Path to Yosemite

All the ABD's look appealing but IMHO the 2 that stand out are that Med DCL combo and Yosemite. Like 20 way tie for after that. Because of this discount disconnect at Disney, we did a DCL/WDW/AKL vacation this year again instead of another ABD for labout half the cost. Nothing wrong with...

    Golden Path to Yosemite

went last August Can you do this trip on your own and for a lot less? Yes. Will it be the same trip. No. As others have noted, you pay for the added benefits of guides making down time like on the bus fun, kids sharing the experiences with other kids and probably learning from the guides...

    Golden Path to Yosemite

Have to apologize for leaving an impression about the pins. The guides did NOT say pins are going away at all and the only info I see on the trip name change droppng the theme is from the ABD website. If the same trip names are still out there somewhere, great. The storybook daily itinerary...

    Golden Path to Yosemite

Sorry but when I toggle over to the ABD website, I only see Northern California Family Vacation, no Golden Path. Same with Wyoming Family Vacation instead of Quest for the West, Grand Canyon Family Vacation instead of Southwest Splendors and down the line. IMHO the itinerary as a...
