Have you ever left one of your children home?

We just got back from a 14 day Orlando trip (we did other things in addition to Disney) and we left our 3.5 and 2 yr old at home with grandparents. I do not regret my decision at all. We were all happier this way. Good luck deciding! :)

    Vacation without the little one

Why not? Its really important for DH and I to have us time too. We really get to catch up with each other that way. Have a great time!! :)

We've made the decision (pg. 4)

At the time I wasn't sure my choice was right. My DH and I talked for hours over this, and this is our choice. Criticism doesn't have to be rude IMO.

We've made the decision (pg. 4)

I thought about that. My 3 yr old is all over the place whenever we go out, and she refuses to listen, throws tantrums when she doesn't get her way and is constantly running off. I really am afraid for her safety, and taking her to Disney would put my DH and I over the edge. I'm really hoping as...

We've made the decision (pg. 4)

As parents, we all know our kids better than anyone else. I know deep down in my heart, that leaving the girls behind with my parents is the correct choice for our family. Whether you like it or not is is your choice, but our decision was for the best.

Disney at night with 14 month old

I agree 100%! I think you need to do, what is best for your child and family, even if it does mean some sacrafices.

Disney at night with 14 month old

Honestly, I would honor his bedtime and you'll have to plan around it. I know its a hard thing to do, but in my mind, a rested happy toddler more than outweighs trying to stay awake to see parades and fireworks.

We've made the decision (pg. 4)

We've already considered taking my parents, but my sister's 2 kids are also staying with them, while they're on a cruise. As I see it, if this trip is awesome I'll gladly take the girls, when I feel they're ready. As a mom, I know that my decision is right. Its a tough one to make, but in...

Trip to Disney with no parks?? Have you done it?

I couldn't imagine staying at a resort there and NOT going into the parks. Even if the kids are young, they'll still enjoy it!!

Going to park with kids 3 and 6 - nap, evenings etc

I'm planning on doing the same thing. But, I not quite sure what to expect, because my youngest will be 2 when we go. She may give up naps, by that point, but I sure hope not!

Is Anyone Homeschooling as a Safety Reason? Not THE reason...A reason

First off, I want to say kuddos to all of your moms and dads who homeschool your children. That is very honorable thing to do. I've considered it, but I really don't think I'm cut out to do it. I'll be very honest, I love to time I have to myself every afternoon when the house is quiet and I...

Who's telling their kid's at Christmas about WDW trip?

We're telling the kids about the trip at Christmas. We just received the vacation guide DVD and I'm going to have them open it up together, and we'll tell them then. I CANNOT wait to see their reactions. :D

Taking kids out of school for Disney

We're going in late Oct, and I plan on telling the school, as soon as the year starts. My oldest will be missing a whole week and a half. I'm not worried about the work he'll be missing (he'll only be in 1st grade), and I will be telling him upfront all the homework he will be receiving when he...
