When I first decided to customize, I just wanted them to be really glittery (I'm a princess, what can I say?). I used Mod Podge and glitter and then sealed it with some more ModPodge. I loved how they turned out:
But even though none of the glitter came off when I touched it, by the end of a few hours of wear a lot of the glitter had worn off and it ended up looking like this:
So I got smart and changed plans, and this is my new one!
This is after a couple days of wear and a few days snapped around my purse. Also, you can't tell in this picture, but it glows in the dark too
They look AMAZING! The red one is my favorite...I'm sure you'll have so many guests asking you where you got them. I am considering going the nail polish route too but am afraid I will mess it up.
we are there December 6-8, so we did ours up for xmas.
I'm a 30 yo single male let me tell you it was interesting going in and buying nail polish and nail art pens! Lol I hope I did ok.
Was just able to finish my MB still need my DH and I'm done.
I love it! What was your new strategy to get the glitter to stay on?
Cancel that I just saw that you've already answered this
HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!? I can't find the answer in the TONS of great ideas on this page?
Tattoo, glitter polish, gold nail art & crowns, rhinestone and 2 top coats.
Got ours done! Except DH (the blue one) need to put the base coat on and paint the Mickey head a few more coats with the lime green.
I love the swirls down with the rhinestones! They look great! Did you end us using extra glue or anything on them?
From Blah Blue, to Polynesian themed! Someone on this thread mentioned decorative duct tape. Before reading that I never knew one existed! I think these are perfect for our Poly trip coming up (in 24 days!!!). I am no artist, so a roll of tape and a box cutter worked out pretty well!
My talented mother's MagicBand!
Just finished them!! We've got tons of colors already and we're getting more for our next resort stay at the end of June, so I decided to just GO for it! Here are the three designs I went with... I can't wait to try more!
I posted a "How-To" on my blog, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, so I just went with the pictures! I think I'm gonna try out the rub-ons or the temporary tattoos next!
Speaking of Nightmare Before Christmas, I just finished mine. I used acrylic with fingernail topcoat. In a few months, going to some parks and typhoon lagoon, we'll see how they hold up.
