Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Great job everyone. That animal one is kinda what I wanna do to mine but it's blue so I was thinking stitch with his big mouth open. Mickeys head as the nose then use the ears as stitches eyes but just make them more stitch shape. What you all think?

:cheer2: Go go go! :cheer2:

I love these!

Does anyone have any ideas for a Mad Hatter band?! I'm really wanting to decorate one!

I was thinking about that. It depends on if you mean the classic cartoon movie or the live action movie with Johnny Depp. One is white (hair), yellow, greens and blue; the other is red (hair), a touch of purple, brown, olive greenish, and gold. You could choose whichever color set you like, then add the 10/6 tag.

Trying a few things but i have one done might do another. thinking about doing like decopage with cut outs and then putting the top coat nail polish on as a sealer

I'm a 30 yo single male let me tell you it was interesting going in and buying nail polish and nail art pens! Lol I hope I did ok.

You are able to get the kits or just the nail art plate via eBay or Amazon.

Ok, Pulling my head out of the sand :) I had NO idea that these nail plates existed. So a couple of important questions for you since you are now our DIS board expert!

Could you show us which plate you used? Also how did you do two colors? Thanks for sharing your gorgeous band!!

this is the plate I found either on ebay or amazon can't remember but made sure to find disney ones. I used black nail polish to do the minnie out line stamp and just used nail polish to fill it in with color.

Thanks!! Your band is beautiful. I love that it is just classic Minnie. Can't wait to see your others when they are done!

I thought so too. I'm pretty sure I read some early reports of customization attempts that ruled out rhinestones on the face because of that.

I glued Swarovski crystals to the Mickey head on my band and had no problems whatsoever with it scanning.

In fact, it made it easier to line up the Mickey head because I could feel the raised part and turn it to face the correct direction.

How long do the nail polish painted bands hold up? When I paint my nails, sometimes it's only a dsy or so before they chip. Sunscreen, lotion, perspiration, wear and tear,.... I'm just wondering how it will hold up. Anyone wear them on a trip yet?

Mine was painted completely in nail polish, and it held up perfectly for 9 days. Not a flake or scratch or nick anywhere.

I chose not to use a top coat on the band, FYI. I did two thick coats of the base color prior to using additional colors for the design on top of the base coat. I tested 3 different clear topcoats on the end of the band with the holes, and top coats will indeed crackle/craze if bent, so I chose not to paint the entire band with it. (The part I tested on gets covered up with the thing is latched shut, unless you have an exceedingly large wrist, so it's a good place to test.) Regardless, I ended up not needing a topcoat at all.

In the end I only used the topcoat in one small spot - I glued Swarovski flat-backed crystals to the Mickey head using superglue (atop the base coat of nail polish), and once the superglue dried, I dabbed topcoat around the gems to make sure they were securely held. I didn't go outside the Mickey head with it though and since that part of the band is stiff, no cracking occurred.

Also, FWIW, the bands work fine with the little Swarovskis on top of the Mickey head. I bought the flat backed ones they carry at Michaels. Had no problems with the RFID.

Can you show a pic? It sounds great!

Those teeth are amazing!! How'd you do it!!!!???

Leftover nail decal from Halloween. I used a dark red polish on the band. It just needs clean up now. Black polish on the Mickey head.
