Thanks! I booked a minivan for Jan 22-Feb 2 for $296 with taxes. My 5 yo would love a minivan for the week (we don't have one and he thinks the're cool, ha ).

Thanks again. It is more than my full-size rental but we now have extra family coming it might be really helpful and work the extra $50.

Try - promo code - 101025. When I did it, it said that it was no longer valid but gave me this instead and I got a pretty good rate $295 for a week plus 4 extra days for a minivan. Worth a shot.

Yes for some reason , even though Dollar gives the DEK30 code if you get the 30% off special .........it automatically changes to 101025 . Not sure why, but its a good code for the general public to use as its listed right on the Dollar web site !

Thanks for the Dollar code! I was coming to share our minivan price using a city special, but the DEK30 code saved us $40!!! We are all in for $275 renting from Saturday, January 16-Tuesday January 26. Thanks for the savings!

I just booked a minivan from Costco for 1/23-1/30 for $183 including all taxes, fees, and an additional driver! No extra promo codes needed!

I booked minivans last night through Dollar for $193 including taxes and fees, but just cancelled them for this Costco deal.

I just did the Dollar deal for a minivan, it was over $100 cheaper then the Alamo deal I had, but I can't pick up at Car Care and return at MCO. I need to check Costco rate again though, since if we're going from the airport I can use any of the companies.

Just got my minvan rental down to $214 through Dollar vs. the $286 rental I had through Alamo. I still prefer Alamo, so I am going to keep checking!

That's awesome! Those are my same dates as well, and I recently became a Costco member. My current best rate with Alamo direct is $222 for a minivan. Did you need the highest membership level to book that or is their basic membership enough?

Edited to answer myself: no you don't -- basic is good enough. I just booked through Costco and got $183. They say "with additional driver at participating location." I'm hoping MCO is one of them. It's been a struggle in my mind in deciding if I'll be the one driving or if my mom will. It would be great if we could both have the option without it costing a fortune.

I am still holding fast at $205. all in for a Premium Car (dont need a minivan) , for our 10 day timeframe in Jan., using the DEK30 (101025) code with Dollar .
Note : the DEK30 Dollar code is only for Premium cars and above (includes minivans) .

Also have a Midsize for the same timeframe for $175. all in , just by using the Dollar "city special" .

Will probably keep the premium reservation ...........because, well ..........for only $25. more than a midsize = a Premium car !! We are doing a bit of driving this stay , so a Premium will be well worth the $25 extra !

Thanks Syndrome! My 5 yo is going to be so excited (DH too) - the DS wants us to get a minivan for home (not happening) but on vacation it will be nice to have.

As for the mid-size to premium, why not if it is only $25 difference, you are on vacation, right? A little splurge is good.

Does anyone know if those Visa-based Alamo coupon codes are going away? I was just trying AD2338FDF for Jan 30-Feb 6, and a rejection message came up about the coupon "conflicting with my return date." It was surprising because, to my knowledge, that code has been around for years. I know I have used it at least twice before. D'oh

Those VISA $30 off coupons expire at the end of the year and new ones for 2016 haven't been released yet (if at all).

I have the 2016 ent book and there is no $30 coupon for Alamo, but there is a $30
for National, so I am booked with National. You just have to compare how close Alamo and National are. We are picking up at Car Care Center.

Thanks - Syndrome answered my question and I was able to rebook my reservation for a great deal - 11 day minivan rental for $257 with all taxes and fees included. I am so excited. 36 days to go
