Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

People have a tendency to make the busses seem difficult. You walk through classic hall, and out front are a row of bus stops with signs, stand at the one where you want to go and get on when it arrives. Couldn't be easier. The return trip from the parks is similar, there is a bus area at each park, and each resort has a loading zone. Find your loading zone on the giant sign, and go there to wait for your bus back to your resort.

As others have said, AoA is a bus option too. The resort is similar in size, but with the various categories, and suites, I would imagine that the guest population of AoA is about 75% of what POP normally is. This makes their buses slightly less full or difficult to get. Heading out to a park is a crap shoot, but on the return back from a park, look at both lines and jump into the shortest one. The walk varies depending on where your room is, but its a wonderful and peaceful walk.

Great idea boufa!

Does anyone know if there are specific hours for the concierge at Pop? I want to upgrade to park hoppers when we arrive, but it will probably be close to 9:00 p.m. before we get to the resort. We have a before park-opens ADR the next morning and so it would be much easier to just handle it when we arrive. Anyone who has upgraded to Park Hoppers at POP and knows how/where to do it? Thanks so much!

Never mind! I decided to just call and do it over the phone before our trip so I didn't have to worry about it when we get there!

We are headed back to the Pop in Jan, or as my son calls our place :) I am looking at needing a scooter this trip and I am wondering how 3 of us all our stuff and a scooter is going to fit. Has anyone had a scooter and where did you find the best place to put it in the room?

We never had a scooter to work with but have seen plenty being parked outside the rooms between the two doors. I believe there is a plug there to.

Just booked our bounceback this morning with Free Dining and we will be back at Pop in 2016!!!! So excited. I have not liked All Star Sports. We are having a good time, but we have had issues and truthfully... It's just not Pop. I think Pop is way better, IMHO.
Do you have to purchase a package with a certain number of nights, park ticket days, or park hopper in order to get the bounceback free dining deal?

You need to purchase a minimum two day ticket package that includes either park hopper or waterpark option.

Hi there,
This is our first trip to Disney and we'll be staying at Pop. I just received my info booklet yesterday and noticed an arcade voucher in there so was wondering what the arcade is like at POP and how does it compare to the one at Art of Animation? I have a 6 yr old and almost 3 year old so looking for one that has more games geared towards young children. Also, not sure what Disney Quest is like. Would it make sense for us to go?
The arcade voucher is only good for like 2 or 3 gameplays. From what I saw, POP has pretty much the same type of stuff as the AoA arcade, which is a variety of ticket redemption style games that are geared towards younger ones. I'm pretty sure they stopped giving out tickets (no more prize redemption), but they can still be fun.

Disney Quest has lots of unlimited (free) play arcade games (classics and semi-recent games, but not really any cutting edge stuff), plus a few different exclusive experiences. The "unique" attractions are mostly geared towards older kids and adults, but there is a section with games that are for younger ones, along with the usual things like skee-ball and basketball. If you don't have a ton of time, Disney Quest might not be worth it, but if you're planning to go to Downtown Disney (Disney Springs) and you've got the free vouchers, you'd probably find at least a few things to do and it wouldn't cost anything extra. If you don't have the free vouchers, then I would say you'd be hard pressed to justify the price of tickets.

Thanks Simba77! Very helpful!

Checking in today for two nights! I was able to snag a FL resident discount a few days ago so I'll be curious to see how busy it is with it being a holiday weekend. I requested 70s near transportation with a standard room.

Another room request question here. We are booked in a standard room for the first week of December. When we booked the website says "2 double bed or 1 king bed." Its just my husband and I so I was going to request a king bed when it came to amenity requests. Now that its that time though, there isn't even a check box for king beds. Is this something you have to call in for to ask? Or do they not actually exist for plain old standard rooms? I'm just a little bummed because I thought there was a chance of getting a king bed, even if it was a very slim one.

I'm sure this is in here somewhere but I didn't have time to skim through all the posts. Anyone knows what the online check-in request options are?
TIA!!

Top floor is 4th floor. Here are the options you will have during on line check in:

You'll find them in this post by SPOERLX3. :thumbsup2

You can definitely call and add that to your request however king beds are not plentiful at POP. POP only has 144 King rooms and 63 of those King rooms are handicap accessible Handicap accessible King rooms are a book able category. There are certain room categories that have more King rooms than other since some room categories are larger than other.
Standard being the largest room category. Your best chance of getting a King room would be to call Disney CM and ask them to add that request to your reservation and make sure King room is your ONLY request. When you do online check in, do not make any other requests. Once you start adding requests like a specific floor or or a specific area, you start limiting your chances for a king bed. By making King room your one and only request it allows the room assigner to find you a King room anywhere on property within the room category you booked. Once you get to Pop you can always ask the front desk if the room assigned is a King and if it's not you can ask them to see if there is any chance that one has become available since your room assignment was made. They are very accommodating. If there is not one available when you check in you can also ask if one becomes available could they let you know and move you to a King room if one does become available. We have been successful getting a king bed about 50% of the times we requested and then a couple of other times we have moved after a night or two. Good luck and pixie dust for a King bed!

Thank you SPOERLX3! I will call in and add it to my request. I'm glad that some rooms at least exist in the standard category. It wouldn't matter so much if the other option wasn't a double bed!
