I was thinking that I could request top floor and 4th floor to cover my bases. What exactly is landscape view? I bet that lake view is in high demand.
Planogirl- what type room did you book? Lake view are all standard rooms.

Just a standard room. Since I'm unfamiliar with the place I just kept it simple.
Personally, I would check 4th or highest floor & if there is a specific era that you like or if you want a lake view, I would check one of those during on-line check in. 70's is the most quiet era since it has no pool but it is close to Classic Hall and all 60's standard rooms have a lake view.

:tinker:Pixie dust for the perfect room!

By the way, is Planogirl a reference to Plano, Tx? Just wondering, I am from Mesquite, Tx

My husband and I are booked in a Preferred Pool room. We want to be close to the main building and the busses. I understand that these rooms are right beside the main Hippy pool. Will noise be an issue if we aren't in our room at all during the afternoon/evening hours? Basically, we will be getting up around 7am and going to have breakfast then leaving for the parks. We normally don't return until around 10pm or later. The pool noise level shouldn't really affect us early morning and late at night, right? We like our sleep. :)

You will definitely be close to the main building with a preferred pool view.
The preferred pool rooms face the Hippy Dippy pool.
The pool hours have become much more strict and there is no swimming unless a lifeguard is on duty. Lifeguard hours are typically from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. so you shouldn't have any trouble with noise :thumbsup2 You can always request a 4th floor room to give you the added distance from the pool.
Here is the map with the room categories highlighted. Preferred pool room are highlighted in blue/teal.

Thank you! I called a phone CM tonight to add a "King Bed" request to my room reservation. I know these are hard to come by (AKA nearly impossible) with Preferred Pool. The phone CM told me that I will be automatically assigned a King room instead of Double Beds because there is a party of 2 and not a party of 4. I know that isn't accurate at all. Should I call back in a few days to get a different CM to add my King Bed request?

Yes! I used to live there and someone called me a Plain Ol' Girl teasingly and I decided to use the town as a name here. I live close by in Frisco now.

By the way, thanks for posting the map. We will be using a car at least part of the time so I was thinking about the 50's area. I don't really need lake view.

Yes, definitely call back and add or make sure "King Bed" is the only request on your reservation.
King beds are definitely limited, especially in the preferred pool category but putting the request in may help.
You can always ask, when you get there, if they were able to assign you a king bed and if not, they can always check for you to see if they have anything available when you get there or maybe during your stay, you would have to move but it may be worth it! Personally, I wouldn't put any other request on your ressie if a king bed is your only priority and I wouldn't check of anything during on-line check in (maybe just highest floor). This will allow the room assigner choose from any king bed rooms to assign and if you choose highest floor, they would normally start looking at the king rooms on 4th floor and then 3rd, 2nd, etc.

 from one Texas girl to another!
50's area is sooo cute, Love the Lady and the Tramp theme.

Does anyone know if there are specific hours for the concierge at Pop? I want to upgrade to park hoppers when we arrive, but it will probably be close to 9:00 p.m. before we get to the resort. We have a before park-opens ADR the next morning and so it would be much easier to just handle it when we arrive. Anyone who has upgraded to Park Hoppers at POP and knows how/where to do it? Thanks so much!

Just booked a nice, long, 12 day stay at Pop for next June! Doing 4 days on the coast, first, and then 12 days of nothing but relaxing at Pop. I cannot wait. I am so excited to be going back to my favorite place on earth!!

Does anyone know if they sell smoothies at the food court? Or anywhere in the parks?

I just booked a 5 day trip at Pop (late April 2016)---I've never stayed at a Value Resort but this is girls only trip and my daughters have wanted to stay here forever. They will be surprised. I booked a preferred room. I'd like 50s, 60s, 70s theme--any idea where we will end up with a preferred room? I hope the buses are easy for me to figure out (& I have the patience ;) )

Check out this map from Page #1 of this thread that shows the location of the preferred rooms.

Hi there,
This is our first trip to Disney and we'll be staying at Pop. I just received my info booklet yesterday and noticed an arcade voucher in there so was wondering what the arcade is like at POP and how does it compare to the one at Art of Animation? I have a 6 yr old and almost 3 year old so looking for one that has more games geared towards young children. Also, not sure what Disney Quest is like. Would it make sense for us to go?

You're in luck! The preferred rooms are highlighted in yellow and all preferred rooms are in the 50's, 60's or 70's closest to Classic Hall! There is only 1 bus stop area. In front of Classic Hall, each park has it's own bus stop and there is one for the water parks and Disney Springs. Easy Peasy!

People have a tendency to make the busses seem difficult. You walk through classic hall, and out front are a row of bus stops with signs, stand at the one where you want to go and get on when it arrives. Couldn't be easier. The return trip from the parks is similar, there is a bus area at each park, and each resort has a loading zone. Find your loading zone on the giant sign, and go there to wait for your bus back to your resort.

As others have said, AoA is a bus option too. The resort is similar in size, but with the various categories, and suites, I would imagine that the guest population of AoA is about 75% of what POP normally is. This makes their buses slightly less full or difficult to get. Heading out to a park is a crap shoot, but on the return back from a park, look at both lines and jump into the shortest one. The walk varies depending on where your room is, but its a wonderful and peaceful walk.
