Wonder 10/01/2015 3-night Baja

party:Hi Everyone. Glad to be joining in! We just did this same cruise in May, so if anyone has questions about anything (port, parking, ship, DCL, kid stuff, dining, etc.), we'd be happy to try and answer them. Our girls (true DCL veterans) would be happy to talk with any other kids around their age (12) as well. Looking forward to meeting some new disboarders!
What would you definately do again and what will you avoid? Also where did you park?

We park at the Wyndham right across the street. $11/day plus either $2 or $5 fee, depending on who you book through. There are 2 companies that do contract booking... I've used both. You can NOT do it directly thru the hotel at this price. Just search for San Diego Cruise Port Parking Wyndham Bayside, or something similar. airportparkingreservations.com has $5 fee and airportparkingconnection.com has a $2 fee. You don't need the shuttle service for the cruise port (it's there mainly for the airport which is a mile or two away). The Wyndham is literally right across the street from the port. You will need to carry/roll your bags it but it's a very short walk.

Honestly, we've been in Ensenada several times before and now just stay on board the whole time and enjoy the ship. You can take the shuttle from the ship to the main drag in Ensenada for some food/drinks/shopping if you haven't been there. Check out Ensenada excursions if that's your thing. There are no "must do" things in port that I'm aware of. We just hang out and relax. Up to you...

On the ship you'll get to eat in each dining room once. Highly recommend you try them all although the buffet is also an option. The dining rooms are very kid friendly and the servers are awesome with young kids. Your 5 yo will likely love the club. My kids at that age (and most others) never want to leave. Your 2 yos (twins?) will be in Flounders of course if you want some adult time. The boys will love the Mickey Pool and the associated splash area adjacent on the port side on Deck 9 aft. The character experiences are fun for the kids, but there is no character breakfast on these short cruises. The sail away and pirate parties are fun but can be a bit loud. The pirate party also starts pretty late for the young ones. The adult areas, including Cove Café and the adult pool area are very nice for some quiet time. The gym is decent and has great views over the bow. Any adult can use the gym but the separate spa treatments will set you back a bit if you're so inclined. The fast food areas on deck 9 outside are open most of the day for calorie loading. The kids love the fries and chicken tenders. They're all included. Lastly, the nightly shows are amazing! Don't miss them.

Tip: Bring pillow cases and/or photo mattes from home for the characters to sign. Just give them to Guest Services the first day along with some Sharpie pens. [Disregard... apparently no longer offered]

Tip: DCL allows you to bring your own adult beverages in your carry on. Check out their policy on the website.

Hope that helps

There are posts on the main cruise board saying that DCL is discontinuing this as of August. :sad1::sad1::sad1: I guess it got to be too much for the characters to sign them, since so many people knew about it.

Our 12 yo girls are interested on corresponding with others in their age range (10-14 or so). They are very independent and familiar with the ship, and would love to have some other girls to run with onboard (allowing mom and dad some quality time!). Please let me know and we'll get them hooked up.

Bummer... that was a great deal! Just have to eat more ice cream now to get our money's worth!

If anyone in the FE does NOT want alcohol in their FE gifts, please comment in the thread or send me a PM. I'm not planning to give anyone alcohol, but I know some people like to do more adult type gifts.

My 10 year old would love to correspond! PM me if you want additional info.

We are on the disney cruise on 10/1-10/4 san diego to ensenada mexico. This is our first cruise and is really interested on doing the FE. If someone can help me get started on this. Thanks

I'm about to close the fish extender list. Last call! As of tomorrow the list will be closed.

Also, there are currently 90 people in 29 cabins on the list. I will split it into three groups. If anyone would like to be a part of more than one of the groups, please reply to this post or send me a PM asap. I'll send out the lists on Saturday to all participants.
Hi me and my friend will be on the disney cruise and its our first time and would love to join the FE can you help us with that?

Hi! Welcome to the cruise and the thread!

There is already an FE group, but the deadline was a couple of weeks ago and folks have started making their stuff already. I'd be happy to help you start a new one for anyone who comes to the thread from now on. It's pretty easy. Once you make 10 posts, I can PM you how to do it.
