Wonder--10-day Hawaii to Vancouver 9/17/2015

Hi, My name is Jill and I will be going on this cruise with my cousin, Jana. We have been on several Disney cruises and like most of you, we are addicted.
Are there any activities being planned we need to sign up for?

Confusing myself

If wanted to do few tours like PH etc AND aulani would you recommend aulani first then hotel near Waikiki for tours then go to wonder or wakiki then aulani then wonder

Thanks :)

Just booked...it will be me and my mom. We are just flying in the day before. I have requested an add on the Facebook page and would love to be part of the FE group. We did 9 nights at Aulani in February (DVC points), so no trip there this time. Just a hotel near the pier. Can't believe I am going to be on a Disney cruise for 10 days...can't wait. My hubbie can't go along because he can't get the time off work (doing a 2 week vacation in January), so my mom stepped up and said she would come with me.

Aloha Eeyorefanuk! Welcome!

Hmmm. Not sure I can give you the best advice as I have never stayed anywhere on Oahu but Aulani 2 different trips. We did Pearl Harbor, North Shore, pali highway and east coast driving tour all from Aulani…. Waikiki would be nice for things like Diamondhead, Punchbowl Crater, Iolani Palace, Bishop Museum and all thing Honolulu….

Stefndoug, your situation for this cruise sounds much like my own! DH cannot come, sadly work event conflicts, but DD#2 is coming along! And we haven't had a "girls' trip" in a looooong time! I had the Outrigger Waikiki booked, but have been able to snag a couple of nights at a decent rate at Aulani pre-cruise and am wait listed for a DVC points rez (so I can save more of that out-of-pocket money!!) for the same 2 nights. Where are you two gals flying in from?

We are flying from Vancouver...and sailing home :) We booked the Aston which is 3 blocks from the terminal, so we will fly into Honolulu, take a cab to the hotel and then walk to the ship the next day. Aulani is amazing...been there twice already. We are DVC members too...best investment EVER!!!

Nice, Stefndoug! Vancouver is really beautiful! We were there for the first time 2 years ago on the Wonder for an Alaska cruise. Gorgeous! And coming from hotter than Hades Florida, we LOVED the cool weather! And I'm with you on DVC! We love it!!!

So, since you're from Vancouver, any recommendations for the best way to get from Vancouver to Seattle? I booked our flights from the mainland to HNL and then home from Seattle a couple of days after the cruise since our sons live out there. We did the Cascades train before, but that only goes twice daily and we would have to wait until late afternoon to take that. We did really enjoy the train though. I just hate to eat into my precious little time with the DS's…..

There are a few options. You could do a one way rental (we just did it for a Princess cruise that we did). Or there are a couple of shuttle companies that run from downtown Vancouver to Seattle airport. Bolt Bus or Quick Shuttle...google them and you should find more information on pricing and timing.

Thanks much, Stefndoug! Do you know which company is best? And doesn't Amtrak offer bus service as well, or is it one of the services you mention? How is it crossing the border if you're in a rental car? Again, thanks so much for your help! Good to get info from a local! :thanks:

We had no problems at the border with our rental car. We have used Quickshuttle but I think the Bolt Bus is cheaper. Bolt is a new company so they are trying to get customers from Quickshuttle. I think either would be fine. Yes I think Amtrak has a bus service too, but never looked into it. I like car rental because it gives you options for stopping, but it would totally depend on the price.

Aloha Everyone! I'm so excited for this cruise. This will be my first solo cruise so hoping there are lots of people ready to have a good time! For those waiting for DVC waitlist to clear, keep your hopes up. My request came through so I now have M-TH booked at Aulani (Love the Resort and haven't been there since the additions were made). Looking forward to a magical trip with everyone.

Aloha Smrtgrl_95! I think you're on the same 9/17 Hawaii/Vancouver cruise as us! I initially booked it as me going solo, which would have been my first solo cruise, but DD#2 is going to be going along and she is BEYOND thrilled as she's never been to Hawaii!!

We were just back at Aulani the end of January and loved seeing all the completed enhancements there. I think you'll love it! So happy your W/L came through! Woohoo!! I'm hopeful my 2 nights w/l will come through to replace my cash rez. Should be a fabulous trip! No doubt Aulani will be overflowing with DCL cruisers! :dogdance:

Perhaps from downtown to downtown.... but if you want to get to/from Seatac with Vancouver... Quick Shuttle is easier

FE Group! We had to cancel this cruise...we are doing the Baltic in July and have decided to extend our vacation while there instead of going on this one. Very sorry for the trouble but could someone please remove us from the FE group? Hope everyone has a wonderful trip and safe travels-thank you!
