don't know if i'm elated or gassy, but i'm somewhere in that zone...fall 2014 PTR

You guys are doing EXACTLY what we did in 2013!! We went in January and I knew I wanted to get back down there for MNSSHP so we were originally planning it for September 2014 andddd I couldn't wait so we were back there in September 2013! :rotfl:

I love the idea for your costumes!

As far as the party goes, I think the most important thing is, as others have said, to go in knowing you can't do everything and have your priorities set. We did 2 parties last year and still didn't see everything.

If you wanna meet Jack and Sally or one of the other popular characters, definitely get in line before 7 (or maybe one of you can get in line and the other can take the girls to do some of the non-party specific things!)

Also, I think this year I'd heard that Goofy met at the party in the same outfit he wears at Storybook Circus so maybe that's one of the things you guys can do before 7.

The Villains show is adorable & I think you and the girls will both love it! If you are trying to meet them, they don't sign but they do come down for pictures and it's pretty much chaos when they do from our experience. People form like unofficial lines by where they're gonna come down but some CMs acknowledge them more than others. Like Maleficent's line was also treated pretty strictly but the less so. If you are trying to meet them, try to watch the show from where they'll come down after and be in the unofficial line!

For me, I think the hardest thing was really trying to remember that we couldn't see everything and just enjoying the things we did get to see!

I LOVE the photo mat you did with your autographs last time! I think I'm gonna steal that idea next time! How exactly do you do it?! I think the pillowcase idea is really cute too!

Love the pillowcase idea! We also have so many blankets around the house, I totally understand not wanting another one. I think the pillowcase would be cute and practical and would look good no matter how many signatures you actually collect.

the blankets! they're like stuffed animals--they multiply when you're not looking!

Love it!!
Ok I did a quilt for Caden's nursery on our babymoon and I got fabric markers from the craft section at Walmart. They don't wash off/fade like sharpies do.
And we got a small (5x7ish) clipboard and stretched the fabric over that and then used small binder clips to hold it stretched. That way the fabric didn't move around while the character signed it.

And now I'm gonna go find a pic of Caden's quilt and show it off! Lol

LOVE caden's quilt! that's so adorable! you did a great job on it.

that's a good idea to put it on a clip board to keep the fabric from moving. I was going to use an embroidery hoop because I have a bunch laying around. the fabric markers are a good idea too and I wouldn't have to embroider them when we get back....

ah, great minds, huh? :rotfl: I knew I wanted to go in the fall for the party sometime and what better reason than our anniversary? (really, did I need a reason? probably not.... ;) )

thanks for the party tips! it's hard to know you can't do it all, but I keep asking the girls what they want to do and it is actually helping me narrow stuff down. I wish we had time to do two parties, but I guess that gives us a reason to do another party in the future! (again....reason?)

you should totally steal the photo mat idea--someone else told me about it on here when I asked for autograph ideas. I really liked it and think it looks super cute with our mickey picture!

to do a photo mat....you can actually buy a frame with a mat that is made for signing on, and some come with pens too, but they are sort of expensive. I just went to walmart (cuz im cheap!) and found a frame that had a big mat that came with it. I think it was like $10. our frame is 11x14ish and the mat holds a 5x7, so it left a lot of room for signatures.

the mat is a little flimsy by itself, and I worried that it would bend easily. when I took the back off the frame, there was a piece of cardboard in there the size of the mat, so I stacked the mat on top of it and taped them together close to the edge. I packed the mat in our checked luggage for the trip down and back and it was in and out of the diaper bag every day SEVERAL times and I didn't have any problems with it bending. I just got a package of sharpies for the characters to sign with. I liked that it made the mat more colorful.

the little mickey heads on the mat....we were celebrating my birthday when we were there and the day we ate at crystal palace there was mickey confetti on our table. I loved it so much, I saved a bunch of it (i'm a dork, I know! but....mickey confetti!!). when we got home, I thought it would look cute on the mat so I just glued it on before I put the frame back together.

super easy and fun and not another autograph book laying around that i'll never do anything with.

i'm so excited to get sewing for Disney!! I ordered this fabric from etsy last night. I can't find it anywhere for a reasonable price, so I preordered it from here. now, everybody keep your fingers crossed that we can get in to anna and elsa without a 4 hour wait!

frozen fabric

i'm also thinking about getting some of this for a pirate pillowcase for Hannah to have Jack Sparrow sign. I got the first one at walmart several months ago, so i'm going to see if I can find it there before I order it. and I love the one with the words on it.

pirate fabric

pirate words

I also thought about getting this one for just any random characters we see

mickey fabric

and I need to make a run to the fabric store to find something princessy for any princess meet and greets and something for tiana (I thought she could have her own special one since we've been wanting to meet her so long!).

I also found this on etsy that I am in love with and keep thinking I might get to make a skirt....

skirt fabric

I just love Disney sewing!!

Love! the fabric! I can't wait to see how your pillowcases turn out! I think you need to make a skirt too!

I have all my sewing planned, I am making myself wait to start it until May or June. Last year I got finished with all my sewing and planing too early and them I kept changing everything.

Sigh, I am so jealous.

I wish I knew how to sew awesome like that to make fun clothes for my girls!

All of that fabric is SUPER CUTE!! I lobe the pirate words and the pink Mickey's especially! :thumbsup2

So, so awesome! I love the quilt autograph idea. I wish I could sew! Perhaps some new hobby to take up this summer. :)

Love the fabric. It's gonna be awesome!

i got some fabric to do a jasmine pillowcase for Hannah. It's not so princess-y since she not into that. When I get it sewn, I'll have to post a picture. I really think I need a skirt too!

Last time I waited too long and felt rushed to get things finished. This time I'm sad I don't have more to do! :rotfl:

thanks--I can't wait for it to get here! The Anna and Elsa one is a preorder for April--that seems like it's so far away! I swear I'm more impatient then my kids sometimes...

I learned to sew years ago and just got into it again when I found Pinterest.i figure I should enjoy it while the girls still like it. Soon enough I'm sure they won't want to wear anything I made.

Somehow I missed the fabric post before. Omg I love the pirate words! And the white mickey head fabric.
Now I wanna make pillowcases for Caden's trip! Lol

been thinking about inexpensive souvenirs for this trip. In January, I let the girls both make a smashed penny at POR before we left and they loved it. In fact, I took Maddie to the zoo the other day and she made two there. They really like doing those for some reason and they seem like a better souvenir than 20 stuffies! :rotfl: I know there are tons of those machines around Disney. I guess I'm wondering what cute ideas people have as to keeping them--container, wallet, book? Also, any tips for making them so they are "pretty"?

My girls LOVE the pennies. We bought a Disney pressed penny book and put them in there. The girls look at them all the time. It's one of our favorite activities.

How funny!! I didn't think we'd do any last trip and the kids wanted to, so we ended up doing a lot!! We bought a pressed penny book at Disney for ours (about $12 I believe) but there are some fun crafts you can do with them like a display such as this. or this one is cool right here. Or bracelets, like this one or this one here! You can even do matching earrings like these awesome ones!

Know that you can find pressed penny maps at guest services, which I read all about here and look at this cool posttoo! Plus, don't forget to make some money containers so your pressed penny money is all ready to go like these bad boys, :cool1:

Oh yeah, for a fun activity with the kiddos, find a bunch of pennies and clean them together before you go! It's like a science experiment!! Here are some directions for that!

Basically tonnnnns of awesome ideas on pinterest, I think its a great, inexpensive, activity, though it can get time consuming if you become obsessive about it, like I tend to do!! :rotfl:

I thought they must make books for them. the girls would probably like that so they could look at them, and i'd like it if they were contained and not everywhere in the house! :rotfl:

I knew you'd have ideas!!! :thumbsup2 how AWESOME is that mickey head made with the pennies?!? and cleaning them sounds like a messy activity we'd love and then the pennies would be all shiny! and who knew there were maps to the machines!!?? i'm clearly going to have to get on pinterest tonight!

Ok, so these are awful photos, but I just snapped them real quick in the bad lighting in my room, but here is the penny book we got at Disney, I think was like $12... and even if you plan to do a craft with the pennies afterward these are great for carrying them around in Disney!

I know right!! Disney always surprises me!! Theres like a million and one more ideas too, of course, but those were some I like. Do you follow me on Pinterest? Terri Walk. If not, you should, so I can follow you back!! :cool1:

I love pressed pennies!
When we were kids we did them everywhere! My brother and I used to have a bag we carried them around it. We thought we had a real treasure. Of course way back in the 90's they were 26 cents. But they are still a great cheap souvenir! You are right not another stuffie! If you scrapbook, I have seen where people put them in their scrapbook pages, which turn out really cute.

We didn't do any with Charlotte this time, but I plan to this upcoming time!

Denovagirl do you mind if I follow you on pintrest too, it looks like you might have found some cute things!
