Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party Information

Greetings, I'm planning for Sept. 2014 pixiedust: and was exploring extras and came across the dessert party (had totally forgotten about it - Yikes) we are attending the Not So Very Scary Halloween Party one night and will be at MK one night.

My question, are the firework shows the same at the Halloween Party as they are on "regular" nights? I assume the parade would be the same. This could play into my decision :)

Also, is there an equivalent for Illuminations? I haven't ever heard of one, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!

Thanks!

PS Just answered my own question about Illuminations -- "search" is a wonderful option ROFL !!!

The parade and the fireworks are different at mnsshp than they are on regular nights. The parade is the "boo to you" parade, and the fireworks is "hallowishes". They are both fantastic shows completely different than msep and wishes. I don't think the tomorrowland dessert party is available during the Halloween party, as it is a trick or treat location.

If you are there during the food and wine festival at Epcot, you might have an extra similar to the Tomorrowland dessert party. It is called the 3d dessert party. It's a hard ticketed event for an evening of desserts and drinks (wine, liquor, water) and a reserved spot to watch illuminations from between the two gift shops at the front of world showcase. It only happens a few times, though, not nightly so you will have to wait until next year's f&w dates and events are announced. I think that happens around April/may

There hasn't been a dessert party on the Halloween Party nights. And as you may have found, there is no equivelant party for Illuminiations. There are private dessert parties that can be arranged, or, if you went on the "illuminations cruise", or more well known by disney as "specialty" cruises, that can be arranged as well.
Hope this helps!:thumbsup2

Oh Thanks Alot! I am planning two nights at MK, one for the MNSSHP and one "regular" night, if the shows were the same I wasn't going to look into booking the Terrace Dessert Party, but since the shows are different, now I'll consider booking the dessert party on the "regular" night .. am I talking in circles? :rotfl:

Again Much Thanks!

Just booked party of 4 for Feb 24 ... Had planned to do the pirates league & then the pirates & pals cruise but went to book & DS2 won't be old enough... DS 6 was really excited about it and I think the only thing he likes more than pirates us chocolate so figured this would be a fun alternative... We can do the pirates gig when we go in Sept... I'm seeing a lot of posts about seating - is there "bad" seating or should I call WDW & make a request for a "front" table? Thx & hope u all have a magical trip! Only 8 days out from my double digit dance!

BTW - anyone know if we will be able to see / watch MSEP from Tomorrowland Terrace?

If you take a look at the first post of this thread, you'll see pictures of what the parade will look like. also, seating is preassigned before you get there, and is done by the reservation process... First ones reserved will be first at the front tables. All are encouraged to stand at the rail when the fireworks begin, so even if you're sitting at the front row, you may still need to stand. Hope this helps :thumbsup2

I was just there in October for the dessert party, and it was so cool! We could see Tinkerbell's face as she flew over! Our family loved it.

You will want to go stand at the railing no matter what because even if you are seated in a front row, others are going to stand in front of you since you are all encouraged to go to the railing. You won't be able to see the EP, only the tops of the tall floats; we just chose to see that on another night.

It is an awesome view of the castle and fireworks. The other night we were right in front of the castle stage for EP and fireworks and we all agreed that the fireworks view at party was awesome. That close to fireworks at the stage lost some of the view.

Have fun!!!

So funny that this is now a great spot to go! Years ago we stumbled on this terrace and were able to sit and watch the FW with a handful of people. No one seemed to know about going there - now it's a bookable party. There goes my "secret spot"!

Can't wait to try for first time in Jan. DH, DD, and DS will be so surprised. They don't even know about this and PPFWC we are doing on first night!

Forgive my ignorance, but I didn't want to read all the pages! I want to surprise my parents with the dessert party in Feb. and I see a time for 7:00. If the fireworks aren't until 9:00 do we just sit around until 9:00? Is the earlier time better to get better seats?

Hello
Generally they allow you to enter the party about an hour and 15 minutes early or so before the beginning of the scheduled fireworks time. People will generally start lining up for the party entrance about a half hr before that. What day were you looking to go? If you're seeing a 7pm time, i'm guessing the fireworks might begin around 8pm or so....maybe 9. Regardless of the time you choose, all people with a reservation for that night can arrive at any time and be allowed in....so if you have a 7:45pm reservation time, you can still be allowed in at 7....if that's the time they're letting people in.

Many have gone on the early side, relaxed, taken in the desserts, and then ready for the projection show and then the fireworks. Hope this helps. Let us know of your date :)

EDIT TO ADD:
As far as seat location, that is predetermined in order by when your reserve for your date. Supposedly, the earlier you make the reservation, the closer you are to the end tables. This referrs to the day you make the reservation, not necessarily the time of the reservation (or so i've heard anyways). All seats are preassigned before you enter the party; there are labels with the party's last name taped to the table... and there are no rearranging of seats when you get there.

Hello! We are first time Dessert Party goers!

We have a 7:10pm reservation on Wednesday March 5th. According to the schedule on the website, Wishes doesn't start until 10pm, so are we stuck there waiting for three hours?!

Thank you!

EDIT TO ADD: Just called Disney Dining. They are still showing Wishes for 8pm that night, but all the crowd/message board calendars I've seen show that Wishes has been moved to 10pm. I haven't received an email from Disney Dining concerning any changes. So...don't know what's up ?!

Going to Disney 2/1-2/8, so if anyone has a cancellation for the dessert party I'd love to snag it..this would be our first time attending. Thanks! :)

JetBlue canceled our Tuesday morning flight and can't get us on a flight until Thursday afternoon. :sad2:

Good news, is our wonderful friends at the Dolphin were able to rearrange our room reservations and we are able to extend our trip to Saturday - so we are staying the same amount of nights.

Bad news, is we had to cancel our Afternoon Tea at the GF for tomorrow and our WISHES DESSERT PARTY for Wednesday. :sad1::(

Good news, is maybe one of you can grab it... :wave2:

Great pictures! I really don't like desserts but they look yummy!

We are going in April for DH's bday. Our ressie time is 9pm. Sounds like people will line up around 8:30 and they will probably let us in at 9?

Any recent experience with desserts running out? I didn't read the whole thread but early posts mentioned getting there very early because things ran out.

Thanks!

Okay, I need some opinions....we are doing MK 2x for our first trip ever to Disney in May. The second day we are there, May 11, we are doing the dessert party at Tomorrowland Terrace. Right now the park hours say 9am-11pm with extra magic hours until 1 am. I am not sure what time the party would start for this day. So, that is my first question? What time would the wishes dessert party be? Second, I have a dinner reservation for 5pm at Ohana. Do you think I should find something earlier & have a late lunch as opposed to a big dinner and then the party? I reallllly wanted to go to Ohana on this trip because I am not sure when I will ever get back there, but this is the only day it would fit! My back up plan was a 130pm lunch reservation at Tony's Town Restaurant Square. Thoughts are much appreciated!!
