Panama Canal Eastbound Sept. 14, 2013--it'll be WONDER-ful

if someone is doing a trip report of there cruise of the panamacanal can u send me the link i would love to see it as i have decided to do this cruise next year

We got our also. Kim and Craig(Adam) room 1054 Janice and Vernon room 1056
It's not a typo, I didn't know till my last cruise that rooms are on the 1st floor.
We are excited and can't wait....a few more days.

Those are great rooms, hardly any guest traffic at all, no crowds heading down after show. There are a couple times a day that they are rolling carts around that gets a little noisy but not annoying.

Has anyone heard any rumors about who our "Guest Performer" might be? I know that in the past, Panama Canal crossings have had a Disney celebrity guest onboard to perform, like Susan Egan, (the original Belle on Broadway), or Jodi Benson, (the voice of Ariel). Anyone heard anything?

That would be so cool. Didn't know this was a possibility. Hope they do have a "Guest Performer".

I am a rookie to the FE and Postcard/recipe exchanges. I had sent Kathy (twokats) a PM with our cabin number, but couldn't figure out why no updated list was being sent. The light bulb did not go on until someone posted on Facebook about the updated FE list. It then occurred to me to go and find the original links Kathy had sent that I would be able to check the updated FE and Postcard/Recipe lists that way.

Sooo....
In the event that some of the cruisers with no cabins numbers on the list are rookies also, I thought I would risk outing myself. Now have gifts and postcard/recipes labeled with screenname and cabin number ready for delivery for those with cabins on the updated list. :thumbsup2

Tracy,

Jesse is a boy. Sorry, I had it on my master list, but forgot to edit for the FE list, but it is now fixed.

Kati is an adult. She will be celebrating her 27th birthday on the cruise, even though most people think she is still a teen.

Hi, Iminakilt. Are these all grownups and is it 2 boys and a girl.

We always use those vacuum bags when we travel. You can fit more in the luggage.

On our PC cruise, we had Susan Egan, we also had Roy Disney and his wife, and Don "Ducky" Williams.

I actually slept through the injury and didn't even feel it! So, yeah rolling carts and partying people are not going to bother me on board, either. :lmao:

Good tips about the bags! Thank you!
I love that this cruise has been an excuse to buy all new summer clothes, and they've all been on sale! :woohoo:

Ouch, ouch, ouch...hope you are not in too much pain.

I use the vacuum bags every time I cruise. You have to be careful if you are putting things like tshirts. It can leave them fairly wrinkled, but I've used these for that if needed. I usually pack undies, pj's, socks, items I'm not too concerned if they come out wrinkled. Great for compressing a jacket, sweatshirt...things that have a lot of bulk.

Hope your toe is better. It just makes me cringe reading about it!

I am packed and ready to go! Well, almost anyway...
Rita

When Rita says she's packed, she really is!! Was at her house yesterday, and her suitcases were already zipped. :dance3: Of course we went to the outlet mall for one last trip to the Disney store, so that means a few adjustments.

She has motivated me, so today that's what I've been doing. Off to pick up dry cleaning. Good to have a motivating cruising buddy. :)

Rita - so how many suitcases (and carry-ons) is your party taking? :rotfl2:

We had Don "Ducky" Williams on our 11 night Holiday Cruise - I have not heard of any special guest on this one - I would think they would announce it but maybe...

Normally they try to do fun things on the longer cruises - I've even heard they did a Murder Mystery in the past.

Well, I have a medium size suitcase and a carryon size. Then I have a backpack and big "purse." Hopefully the last few things will fit in as I added 4 more shirts yesterday. We need to hurry and leave so I don't keep adding things!
Rita:yay:

A murder mystery could be fun. They also held a crew talent show one night. That was really fun. I don't remember knowing in advance that Susan Egan was performing.

I know DCL no longer allows the traditional organizors over the bathroom door. Has anyone come up with a good alternative plan to store all that small kind of stuff. On other threads I have read ideas about hanging the organizors from hangers, using zip ties and ribbons and hanging them over hooks on the walls. Are there hooks on the walls? Any other ideas? Thanks!

There is a hook on the back of the bathroom door, take something to tie your organizer to a coat hanger and hang it up. Bring a wire coat hanger "just in case" or hang it in the closet

I had no idea DCL did not allow these. I've never had one. Just curious as to why these are banned.

Many of the organizors came with metal hooks that hooked over the top of the door holding the organizor up. These metal hooks left marks on the doors and I guess DCL had to put a stop due to the damage caused to the doors.

We love these organizors. They are a very convenient way to store all the stuff that might be piled up on counter tops elsewhere.

That makes sense. Thanks for the response.

OK, a quick update on the lists.

lbolt123 is the only person involved that I still need a stateroom # for.

Also, I have had several question me on denamo (Dena) and chdheart (Rita) both being in the same stateroom, but listed separately on each list. I did that since they are friends staying in the same room, not family and each are doing their own, so it is only fair that they each receive their own . Hope that made perfect sense to all. If anyone needs extra clarification, please ask.

I am so excited about getting on board. A week seems too long still!

I found some Tide, travel size, for washing clothes in the sink at Rite Aid yesterday. Thought I'd let you know it can be found for those of us doing a small amount of in room laundry!
