According to my email history we made the reservation Wednesday Oct 10th 2012. If I recall correctly it was opened to Disney Visa Card holders the Monday two days prior.
I am not a card holder, it's an option I consider every time FD looms.
I know getting in early is key especially for POFQ. We love the resort and it's perfect for our vacation style.

That was great you were able use the discount at POFQ even after the Disney Visa holders had their chance.

When we went in 2012 I called about the free dining which they had that year and was told I had to switch resorts. We REALLY wanted to stay at POFQ - our daughter had done research on all the moderates plus my husband and son had stayed at the CBR previously and felt it was a nice resort but way too spread. We had only stayed off site and at the Polynesian many, many years ago but felt the Polynesian was out of our realistic price range - back when we stayed at the Polynesian there was this work related discount called "The Magic Kingdom Club" and the cost was a lot more affordable back then - plus they did not have all the resorts they do now. Anyway - my daughter called back and got a different CM who applied the free dining discount no problem! My daughter explained that she had just found out she was pregnant with her second child and we had to change all our plans and that is how we stumbled upon the free dining - we were true WDW "newbies."

Thanks for the information - truly helpful :)

We check in on the 25th and can't wait!!!! We were lucky enough to get a FD PIN and I was able to snag a room at POFQ. Our first stay there and we're so excited.

This is only our fourth trip and the other three were all at Values. Don't get me wrong--we had a great time and I'd be perfectly fine staying at any of them again. But now all four of us are considered "adults". We really enjoying having the full DP and not just the QS---like that break for one sit-down each day! By the time we paid to upgrade all four of our plans, the price difference to stay at a moderate was minimal (less than $100 for 6 nights!). They didn't have any standard rooms available within the deal, so I did have to get a Garden View, but that's fine by us!

Soooo hoping to book a BB to be able to do this again next year!

We are booked Sept 17-28th with FD we originally booked thru the 25th, but had a change in out schedules and ability to change our flights fr no extra cost so we added on a few extra days!!!:cool1::cool1:

In order to add the days though, we did have to upgrade to a riverview room. So which is the best groundfloor riverview room to stay in??? I am going to fax my request for a groundfloor room since I have to rent an ECV

I'm so excited!!!:cheer2:

My understanding was that River View rooms were on 2nd and 3rd floor. I could be mistaken however.

Feel like I've been planning the trip forever and now it's only 10 DAYS and I feel like I haven't done anything yet!!!! :rotfl2:

All these lists and tips and notes that I've been meaning to jot down---guess I better get going! Time to drag out the suitcases and start throwing stuff in there that I know I'll be bringing. Time to call the resort and request that refrigerator. Time to start the packing lists.

Anyone else feel like you plan and wait and daydream FOREVER and then suddenly it's here and you feel like uh-oh, I'm not ready?????

But, of course, I'm always ready for Disney! :cool1:

It's Pool View rooms that are only on the second and third floors of buildings 2 and 5.

There are plenty of ground floor River View rooms.

I'm with you. Just finished my packing last night and made my trip sheets form Easywdw because we have the pats game, north shore music theater and the Lowell spinners all in the next week before we go.

43 more days until I get to POFQ!!! :cheer2:

Love seeing all the folks from MA/New England that are staying at POFQ.

Can't wait, FQ is the resort I wanted to stay at more than any other!

We were lucky enough to get the FD PIN in May; my sister got it. I had my heart set on POFQ but knew there was a good chance there might not be any availability there when FQ was released to the GP. Was thrilled when I called Disney to see if I had the PIN everyone was posting about. I didn't but sis did.Had to upgrade to Garden View too.

The kids are so thrilled to be staying a resort with a pool slide; we have only stayed Value before.

Too funny, we will be at the game too! My daughter is a Pats Jr cheerleader. She will be performing on field prior to the game. 163 days til our POFQ stay!! Woot woot!
