We leave Thursday for our first stay at FQ. We usually stay at WL. I'm beyond excited. Not much work is getting done this week that's for sure!

Yes. That is where we stayed and the promotion we used over Mardis Gras week this year.

Yep! We stayed at POFQ for our February 2013 trip and we were able to save almost $1k on our vacation.

We were in room 1233 which is on the 2nd floor (corner room in the pic). we had a beautiful view of the river.

can you give an feel for how long it took to get from building one to the food court/bus stop?

i would say around 5 mins. we always stay in building 5 and its around the same distance.

Thanks Stitch Waffles! I keep reading that POFQ is so often exempt from promotions or avail discounts have met quota so that I am wondering about this. Do you recall if the discount was open for the Visa Card early?

I have read that folks are willing to change resorts for discounts however -my family has their heart set on POFQ and I have to admit this resort does work well for us. Since the Polynesian is a bit out of our price range these days we found POFQ to be a wonderful alternative!. As I read through the posts on DIS it is clear that more and more folks are finding the charm that is POFQ and it is quickly booked up. I guess all we can do is "wait and see", closely watch for discounts and hope for some pixie dust.

According to my email history we made the reservation Wednesday Oct 10th 2012. If I recall correctly it was opened to Disney Visa Card holders the Monday two days prior.
I am not a card holder, it's an option I consider every time FD looms.
I know getting in early is key especially for POFQ. We love the resort and it's perfect for our vacation style.

We are leaving tomorrow\Thursday morning as well! We drive from PA and are not actually checking in until Saturday, staying a day in a local Hampton just to hang out after the drive, but I'm looking forward to it. We have also stayed at the WL, recent trips, and LOVE it there. We have not stayed at FQ for at least 5 years, and while I'm anticipating a GREAT trip and stay, I am a bit sad about not having the WL as home base while there. Our family simply loves the place, but we needed to cut vacation costs a bit this year and frankly, saving almost 1K for our length of stay by moving to a mod is nice.

Have a great trip. We'll be the ones at the pool with a party of 4 adults and 5 kids probably making too much noise.

We returned from POFQ on Saturday. We were not offered ME pick up at DTD. I saw an area for ME at Pleasure Island. We didn't have a fridge, but were told, just call if we didn't have a working one in our room. We passed up on the call, but I saw one outside for the room next door. There was a one in five chance the room would have a working fridge.
