Hey girl, that's a shame!!! How have you been? Is this your girls trip ????

You've never had lobster? Ever?? Order up, STAT! LOL. Well it's obvious what you need to do, book the first flight out to the BC/YC and dive into some. (Although, Cape Cod or Maine is REALLY the place to go for fresh from the ocean seafood!)
Guess the clue is in your name I have always wanted to visit Maine in the fall but Disney keeps "stealing" all my moneyHi everybody. My family and I will be staying at the BC April 9 through April 18. To say we are excited would be an understatement. We originally were going to do a split stay 5 nights CSR with a meal plan 4 nights BC, but with the spring offer 9 nights at BC with no meal plan was only a little over $700 more. BC was where we all really wanted to stay + my DW really hated the meal plan anyway, sometimes we would rather have an appetizer and although I do love dessert I probably shouldn't have one with every meal. We also get water view rooms with this package. I have been lurking on this thread for awhile and would like to thank everyone for all the great info. The first thing I'm giong to do after check in is change in to my swim trunks go to Hurricane Hanna's and order a sunken treasure, I'm sure DW will be in line right behind me. Oh yea, btw the lobster rolls look ok, butif you want to try the best lobster in the world come to Maine in the summer or fall. If you're wondering how I know, it's because I'm a lobster fisherman from Maine .
He's right! Maine truly has the best lobster and lobster rolls.
Hey, everyone, I think we have a new place for our party!!!
BTW-
Dee
We officially booked our trip. We will be there Sept 12-22 Beach Club level. We are so looking forward to it. I was talking with DH last night and told him I wanted to book soon. As soon as I said it I got an email with a pin, he turned on the TV and it was a Disney commercial, then he changed the channel and it was an other Disney commercial. He told me its a sign call and book right now! Now let all the planning begin. We are moving 3 months before our trip so I hope I can keep everything straight.
Cant wait to come back to BCV for our Christmas trip.
Hi guys.... We are staying at the Beach Club this spring, an wondered if anyone had Room Numbers for the rooms with the longer, adult-sized daybeds? We are a family of 5 and DD14 is taller than I am. I know he will want to be in the daybed most.
Right now we have a standard Garden view room, but may consider an upgrade to water-view if it guaranteed a longer daybed.
Just booked our May trip! May 29-June 6th! Was going between POR and Yacht Club and we just couldn't pass up the 30% off discount (we have never stayed Deluxe before!) Will be reading this thread for the next month LOL

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread, but my family and I were thinking about changing our reservation to BC/YC (from SOG) due to a really good code. We were leaning toward thinking about staying at the BC because we had dinner there last year and toured the resort and really liked it. However, for our dates the BC isn't available but the YC is. I'm just not sure if we will like the YC. I've been looking at pictures and it looks nice, but boy am I kicking myself now for not taking the time to go look around there when we dined at the BC last year.
I think SAB is the biggest draw since we will be there during the summer, but I am worried about the room view since all that's available is standard view and I heard that's going to be a rooftop view at the YC. We will absolutely use the balcony and a view would be nice, though I know I can keep checking to see if something with a better view opens up.
If we decide to go with the YC, anyone who has had a standard view, was there anything specific you requested to get a view that wasn't awful?
Hi! This is BCV-related... I debated whether to put it in the DVC section but thought I would start here and ask the actual BC gurus first! Let me know if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
I was browsing through old BCV threads on google and came across one from 2009 (around the time they were switching out all of the tube tvs for flatscreens) where someone said a CM claimed BCV was due for a "major refurb" in 2013. Has anyone heard about this? Booking 11 months out makes me curious what the resort will look like when I actually get there! I much prefer the clean white linens of the regular BC rooms but am saving money by going through points.
On a personal note, I stayed at the YC in summer 2011 for a conference and the entire time I wished I was at BC... SO EXCITED! 2014 can't come soon enough.
Love BCV but I do love Maine ! Live here myself let me know when the party is!
Haven't posted a pic for a long time so not sure if this is gonna work.
1 1/2 shots Midori
1 shot Malibu Coconut Rum
1 shot orange juice
1 shot pineapple juice
Sprite or 7-Up to fizzy taste
1 shot Blue Curaçao
Over ice
Dress with Pineapple slice, cherry, or umbrella
And it is GOOOODDDD......
DH made three glasses before it tasted "just right"!

So sorry to hear about your leg! You had been working so hard towards your goal of returning to the Beach Club to run the ToT!
We are running out of colors, but I will use BLUE for my reply.
According to the time stamp on these pictures, they were taken around 2-3 PM on a day in July. Looks like there is some elbow room. I have a few other pictures I looked at showing this area near the waterfall without many people, but that was from 5-6 PM.
I think these pictures are of the pool in front of where Beaches & Cream or the YC walkway is, but not positive.
A little more crowded here, same time:
Thanks for sharing this!!
Ah HA! I finally figured out how to post a picture!! Thank you Dee for the step-by-step instructions link. I have been trying to figure it out (slightly painful process!!). I went through all the Photobucket settings and found under profile "User Settings", "Album", "Turn on Easy Linking Mode". WOW does that make it easy. Also figured out how to download the mobile iPhone app and link that to my phone for really easy upload (since I am rarely at the computer).
I've got the last day blues. Packing up, a quick Sab visit, a trip over to try and meet teena, off to mk for a ride on carousel and people mover, dinner on Epcot, our final stop at downtown and then we are on the road. Our first stay at YC and we are think its our new favorite!

Background Info: DD6 is a good swimmer and last week during swim lessons did the whole length of the pool without a floatie. However, even with continuous swim lessons we as always need to keep a good eye on her. I am still bringing her floatie because we are not permitting her in deep water without the floatie and a close eye OR her without a floatie and DH or I with her.
1. Does anyone else have some good spots by SB where I can keep an eye on DD6, but it's not that noisy? The sandy space is to "little kid" for her.
I'd recommend the spot right in front of the back of Hurricane Hannah's, which is where they sell the pool toys, rent rafts and rent lockers. This is right at that area where they play volleyball. On the map you will see a large pool area behind Hurricane Hannah's. The other front side of HH's is the seating area and walkway by the lake.
While at the hotel pool, you will see an area with an overhead line covered with pool noodles. There is alot of seating, the water is elementary school age friendly as far as the depths are concerned and I'm pretty darn sure they have life vests somewhere at the pool that she can use. This area is also perfect for her because it's where they traditionally play the pool games in the afternoon and that attracts a lot of kids her age to that area, so hopefully she can find a friend to play with.
Thanks Ninja Mom - I will try.
2. I know she will love the pool slide, but how noisy is it over by this section?
I'm not sure about the little pirate slide area but the area where the big slide dumps out is not too noisy because the kids using the slide are too busy high tailing it out of that area to get back to the slide line.
Unfortunately, my DD6 likes to keep up with her DSis16 and DBro13 so she will be going down the big pool slide. (She's been going down the Poly slide since she was 2 - my little adventurer.) I am wondering how the area is surrounding where the big pool slide ends, anyone?
To me, that area was nice and leafy, not too crowded or large of an area and, depending on the time of day, it had seating in the sun, or in the back, in the shade (a little shade). I think you and her will be fine in that area. The sight lines to the water are good and although it is right near an entrance to the pool (it's hidden around a leafy corner so you can't see it) it's not one of the main entrances like the ones near the hotel. It's not noisy at all in that area but I will say when they start the games in the afternoon the speakers are going to be heard in many areas of Storm Along Bay.
The Yacht Club and the Beach Club also have quiet pools. That means there is what ever noise the guests make. There is no music piped in or organized games conducted by the hotel.
At times, I've seen (other) people make out these hotel pools to be a hive of noise and raucous activity. The nice thing about staying at a deluxe hotel is that there are lots of areas where you can go to relax and get off the beaten paths. The YC/BC has 4 pool areas that guests can use, all with different levels of activity and noise, depending on the location and activity schedule. People, if they are patient and reasonable, are bound to find something to their liking at this wonderful resort.
3. For anyone who has gone in June, how crowded will the pool be (scale 1 - 10; 10 being insane)?
Have not gone in June so I can't help you there!
I'll keep trying, but basically the worst case scenario would work as well when the hotel is at or almost at capacity. How busy has anyone seen it?
I seem to remember from reading this thread that the crazy times are the 4 weeks in July and the first two in August. I think you could say that about all the resorts in the Orlando area so it's not really a BC/YC thing. It's a more like that's when EVERYBODY is on vacation and things are maxed out.
4. With the chance of My Disney Experience being in place by our June trip has anyone heard if the bracelet will work for admission into SB or will we have to wear two bracelets?
We have not heard yet about how the bracelets will effect Storm Along Bay. Many of us are asking this question but no information is forthcoming as of yet. Stay tuned for further details.
Thanks . I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything that I might have missed.

I will reply in Orange
This is the area where they play the games so that's why people are hanging out there. Just by looking at this picture my "Spidey Sense" is telling me that a large game of Marco Polo has just broken up due to all of the 'fish out of water" on the pool deck
Also, in the back of the picture is the area where the giant pool slide ends. That far umbrella in the center is where the lifeguard who watches the slide area is stationed.
