Could someone please tell me the best way to get a box fan to the BC. DW, DS and I all sleep with fans on, last year none of us slept very well without one. Our plan was to ask the towncar that is taking us from the airport to BC to stop at a walmart or target but I just found out they will only stop at publix and I don't think they sell them. So what is the easiest and least expensive way? I know you can have stuff shiped to the resort, is this a hassel? Would it be easier to jump in a cab and have them take us to the closest walmart or would this be too expensive?

We officially booked our trip. We will be there Sept 12-22 Beach Club level. We are so looking forward to it. I was talking with DH last night and told him I wanted to book soon. As soon as I said it I got an email with a pin, he turned on the TV and it was a Disney commercial, then he changed the channel and it was another Disney commercial. He told me its a sign call and book right now! Now let all the planning begin. We are moving 3 months before our trip so I hope I can keep everything straight.dde04

We will be at the bc cl from the 11th of September through the 16th, maybe we will run into each other in the lounge!
Can't wait till September.

Countdown begins T-minus two weeks & 2 days! Beach Club, I hope I LOVE you! So many peeps here do, so I know we will too!!!!!#woot

My family sleeps with them as well. On the trips we haven't been able to pack them, we have asked at the front desk or mousekeeping. If guests leave them behind they will have them and bring to your room. Another option is to get a white noise maker. They are small and fit in our luggage very well. They work surprisingly well too.

Asking front desk, I probably wouldn't have thought of that even though we planned on just leaving the one we buy. LOL. Thanks for the advice. We have white noise apps for the Ipad but they can't replace the good old fan.

Each month, when I share the activities schedule, I will be posting a message about how proud I am of the positive, friendly and helpful vibe on this thread along with an appeal to everyone here to keep it that way.

Fortunately, we have had very few instances of rude or insulting comments and that is one of the reasons this is such a special place. The volunteer moderators on the DIS are here to help keep us on track, so if you see any objectionable comments, please report them.

As always, we appreciate any information and comments about the Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Villas, good and bad. We know everything is not always butterflies and rainbows, so if you have something negative to comment about, that is fine, as long as it is done in a civil manner.

Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

I read about the 'secret door' at YC but I don't quite understand the benefit in using it. What am I missing?

The secret door is the closest door to the walkway around the lake that the YC has, which also makes it close to the boat dock and the bridge to the Swan/Dolphin and the BWI. It is convenient if your room is close to it. :)

I bring a small white noise machine in one of our suitcases. I bought it at Target for, I believe, $13. It has several settings and can be turned up pretty loud if needed (louder than a fan, although I never turn it up quite that much). I agree the apps don't quite cut it.

1 1/2 shots Midori
1 shot Malibu Coconut Rum
1 shot orange juice
1 shot pineapple juice
Sprite or 7-Up to fizzy taste
1 shot Blue Curaçao
Over ice
Dress with Pineapple slice, cherry, or umbrella :stir:

And it is GOOOODDDD......

DH made three glasses before it tasted "just right"!:thumbsup2

In my mind, the real reason to know where the secret door at YC is is because if you sort of mirror the resort from the middle, it gives you an idea of where to look at the BC building when you are running back from EPCOT in the rain.

party: Just realized we dropped into "double digits today" on our countdown!

99 'bottles' Sunken Treasure on the wall, 99 bottles of Sunkeeennn Treaasureee....

Man, you guys are really killing me with all the talk about Club Level. I just figured out our taxes and as we are getting more back than expected I'm now thinking maybe just maybe I'll look into upgrading. Mind you just going Deluxe is HUGE for us.

I wasn't even considering it until reading some reviews of people with food allergies and the lengths the chefs went to in order to make sure they still had adequate food if they couldn't eat the normal selections in the lounge. Which is awesome because otherwise myself or my 4 year old wouldn't be able to eat much of their offerings.

So, what I'm wondering now is does Club Level generally fill up? I'm not quite convinced about spending the extra money. We will be there the 3rd week of May. I'm just curious if there is normally availability or if they book up so I know how soon I should be making this decision.

Of course DH might kill me if I spend all that money on Club Level and still make him drive from NJ to FL! :rotfl2:

I think for May, Club Level does fill up.

What we learned about Club level is that the $$$ you spend on water, beverages, snacks and breakfasts IN the PARKS/RESORTS is just about equal to the money you would spend to upgrade to Club Level.

This is assuming that you are not on the deluxe dining plan and that you take advantage of the club level offering for breakfasts, appetizers, snacks desserts and don't buy alcohol at the restaurants but get it for free from the club lounge. The closest way to save money is to not do the dining plan, eat breakfast in the lounge, pay out of pocket for lunch/and or Dinner but have appetizers in the lounge and then go to dinner (at a counter service or a table service). In the evening you can grab a dessert depending upon the time that you get back.

We booked a table service for lunch and were still too full to get a big dinner. We would have appetizers in the lounge in the evening and then either split a dinner entree or just wait until desserts came out later. Appetizers came out at 5pm. We would grab something and then go to the parks. Desserts were put out at 8pm so when we got back from the parks we would send the first person back to get a assortment to bring back to the room for everyone to pick on. I forget which Alcohols are available at which times but you can ask for something if you don't see it and they will let you know if they can bring it to you right then or if you have to wait (for example the desserts aren't made yet). I think wine and beer are available all day and I know the cordials were put out at night with the desserts.

The other thing I wanted to point out was that Club Level was good for families with children. You could just go up to the lounge and get the kids something to eat and put it on a tray and take it back to the room or just stay in the lounge and eat with the kids. They had fresh fruit, peanut butter and jelly there and a TV area with a kids table, so little ones, properly supervised, are welcome in the lounge. Also the staff did not mind helping parents of the little ones, whether it was to get them something to drink, like milk (I think) or to help with carrying trays over to the table.

To me, Club Level is the perfect solution for families with young children. You just grab a tray and load up or make a trip to the lounge, feed 'em and move on!

First of all I love the name Lobsterslayer! I probably should have named myself Dustbunny destroyer but it's too late now. I think there are ceiling fans in the regular rooms at the BC?? so if it's wind you are looking for you are covered. If you still need the box fan, you can ship packages to the resort as per the instructions on page 1 of this thread. I usually ship packages pre-trip so I recommend that route if the box fan is really what you need.

And finally DisneyLifeMel, I sent you a PM! :wave2:
