:wave2: Well, we are thinking about joining this cruise. We have a trip to Hawaii booked in March for 10 days but are considering dumping it for this cruise now. Looking at the list of cruisers I see some familiar names. We have already been to Hawaii but not Europe, so that is a major motivator. My hubby is going to check on getting the time off. If he can do it I bet our names will be added to the roster. *fingerscrossed* everything will work out.

Fingers crossed for you! We have tons of activities, a group rate at a hotel in Galveston (and pre-cruise meet), and planning on lots of fun! :thumbsup2

Yes but it's more of an "honor" thing - they don't "gestapo" us and auto-close at 250....I've seen some as high as 290 in the DISigner's threads before the disigner closes it! So, no worries........
I didn't realize that. I thought that at 250 it just closed. That's funny. I really do feel like a newbie.

Hope it works :goodvibes

Haha! We were cooking today, and rarely use cookbooks (always the laptop) so it was do a little here, answer a post, do something there, answer another post. Yay for my day off! Back to reality tomorrow.
Good job today pixiedust:

Pixar was awesome! Hope you can join us on this one (although I also would push for Hawaii haha)!

On the longer cruises there is A Princess at Sea Tea Party held in Lumieres.

This is a ticketed event with invite sent to your stateroom, RSVP to be delivered to box in gift shop, the event is free.
Each prince and princess is allowed 2 adults to escort them to Tea party.

On the wbta those with extra adult spaces offered them to "fairy godmothers" that were not travelling with children. once we knew date of event we left a message on stateroom phone with date/time.

if this is offered again, is there anyone interested, i have 2 adult spaces to escort my princessesprincess: if anyone is interested.

I was reading through your post thinking please let grown up children go, please let grown up children go! :D

Awesome job on Event Organizers jumping on the thread on a Saturday to do placeholders of new Part Two thread! :cheer2: We have four more we are waiting for. Those who have done your placeholder, please feel free to start adding your events to your post by editing that post. Some are already done. I have also linked the events in post #1 to your specific post (even if you have multiple events) so you will notice that in the first post now as hyperlinks.

Once the remaining four placeholders are held, I will
- add the new Part Two link to bottom of this current thread
- ask mod to close this current thread

Hopefully we can do this Monday or so after everyone has had a chance to get on DIS, see their PM from me, and type Placeholder on the link I provided.

Thanks so much for organising that! :)

I will start doing mine soon, need to update the pin trading event on the website as well - just feeling a bit down with a cold at the moment so it may not be today if that's OK - don't want to sit in front of a screen for too long.

I loved it too dde0d just wish I could get away with wearing a princess dress dde31.

Boys received a crown, girls were given sashes. All the princesses and minnie visit each table, it was a fab experience. They are also announced into dining room as "princess ....." Amazing when you have an aspiring princess.

Afternoon tea, although not up to palo standards, was yummy ☕cdf70cdf6acdf69

Ok that's us got 7 spaces for any
Fairy godmothers/fathers out there??

If I am not too late, as I was in bed super early last night, please can I have one :D

Secret Mickey

Secret Mickey is where participants are given a room to buy a gift for and the recipients stipulate whether it is a gift for all occupants of the room or just some, i.e just children, and give details of what the recipient likes such as princesses, fairies, toy story etc. Much like a Secret Santa.

Rules:
  • Maximum/minimum amount of gifts (for example: 3 gifts during the cruise and then 1 gift at the reveal moment.): TBA
  • Participants can be set up the way you want (ie, the whole stateroom, a couple, one child, two children, one adult, only the adults from a stateroom, only the children form a stateroom).
  • A maximum amount of $ for the total of gifts. Amount:TBA
  • Cut off date for signing up is: Saturday March 9th
  • Reveal moment: TBA

Please send one pm thru DISBoards per Secret Mickey (if you participate as a couple then you are one Secret Mickey but i need the info of you both. If you have 2 kids that you want to be seprate Sectret Mickey's send 2 pm's).
The info send to me by pm will only goes to your assigned Secret Mickey.

What i want to know of each participant is:

Email adres

Stateroom #
Name
Gender
Age
Hometown + State/Country

Hobby's
Best Movie
Best Book
Favorite Television show
Favorite Game
Favorite Character
Favorite Food
Favorite Color:
Shirt size:
Do you collect anything?:
Likes:
Dislikes:

Allergy
Extra info
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please send in your pm's about who wants to participate.
This way i can see how much people want to participate, aka if there is enough enthusiasm.
We will sort out the rules about gift etc. to everybody's satisfaction.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please let me know what kind of rules you think should work (this can be done thru pm or just as a reply on this thread).
How many gifts per Secret Mickey...
What $ amount per gift or as a total...
Or any other rule or suggestion you have...

So far the only responce i have gotten was:
I think four gifts is too much. Not because of the number of gifts, but because of the $ limit. I think it's hard to find four gifts under $30 (unless one is like a candy bar or something. We had a $25 limit last cruise and got some really random cheapo things from our SM. I'd rather get one "good" thing and a couple of little things. JMO. Or raise the limit (although that is tough for some).

Princess at Sea Tea Party

Would it be an idea to have this also as an event on the website and on thread #2??

Are there any places left on this? If yes, I would like to come too please.

I would like to do the Bunco as well. Thank you. :)

Thanks - hubby looking at it with me now inbetween photo uploads of Valentine's cards we are making :thumbsup2

Feel better :wizard:

Thank you - had it for four days now and feel terrible. Not so good when you can't blow your nose :( - it's the one thing I wish I could do! Lol

Not good when you are only 4 weeks into a new job either.

Here everyone seems to be getting the flu, high fever and aches and after that is gone a bad cold seems to be hanging around.

Take care!

Nothing like vacation planning to take your mind off things...
I had my blood work done for my work physical last week and the doctor called me yesterday morning to tell me that I needed to see a doctor ASAP, my platelet count was extermely low and my WBC was low. So now I am waiting around thinking about it until I can call the doctor tomorrow and to top off the stress, my sister's court hearing about the kids is in on Wednesday. So I am distracting myself with vacation planning, Thanks for helping!

So has everyone booked hotels in Barcelona? I am looking at a hotel outside of town that is a Holiday Inn Express that sleeps 4 for only $65 a night and includes breafast. I know it won't have the European feel to it but every other hotel in Barcelona was super expensive and slept two. Plus everyone in my group (besides nieces) have done Europe before. We are looking at private tours that would drop off/pick up at that hotel and don't plan on hanging out in Barcelona late at night. Thoughts?? I know it is a far cry from the W hotel I stayed at last time in Barcelona......
