December 2013: We just booked!

I decided to skip my usual May trip and just go down for Christmas this year,
i'll be there Dec. 22-27 @ Pop

Just made it official and booked the first 2 nights of our stay at the Dolphin! We check in there Christmas day and check out on the 27th when we'll check into a DVC resort, using our points. At the 11 month mark I'll call and book at SSR, our home resort, from the 27th-January 1st. We're hoping to be able to switch to another resort at 7 months but whether we can or not, I'm so excited!!!!

Yay for braving Christmas!! We're going to try it for the first time this year as well.

Are going back with the whole extended family this year. I think the new fast pass plus will be great for this trip too.

Hi everyone! We (me, DH, DD4 and DD7) are planning for Nov. 30 - Dec. 7. I will be going to a conference at BCV Dec. 2 - 5, so we will extend a few days on either side. We just went this year Dec. 8 - 15 and we had a great time!

I'm glad to hear you guys had such a good time! We're really not going for the rides, we're going more for the atmosphere at this point. We go fairly often (at least once a year, sometimes twice though) and aren't concerned with riding Space Mountain as many times as we can. I'm definitely very interested to see how the new Fastpass system will work. I agree that it will be beneficial to us for such a busy time of the year.

We haven't booked yet but have already started our countdown. We always go in December for our anniversary. Planning on going from the 4th-11th, probably stay at Pop Century again.

We've never been at Christmas, but the resort is gorgeous! It's DBF favorite resort (so far!) to take pictures at!

We did not have a lot of time to visit when we resort hopped so I am looking forward to having a few days to look all around and take many pictures.

I don't know about you guys but all this fastpass+/nextgen whatever stuff is making me very nervous! This will be only my 2nd time and I was hoping to feel more comfortable with everything but now they're changing stuff on me! Hope everything is running smoothly by the time our trips come around

does anyone know when the airlines open up fares for December ? when i went this past December i booked in June, i wanna get in early and get a good seat cheap.
i found out from southwest they'll open for September bookings next month.

It's usually 6 months out. Southwest is nice because if the price goes down later you can call and they will give you a credit.

Disney really is just trying to make it easier/ more seamless. That being said I read that if you don't want to use the bracelet you can stick with the KTTW Card. Should have at least 6 months to work out the kinks before we get there.

There are five of us and since it's our daughter's senior year we thought we would splurge on room! (Three bathrooms will be awesome!) My husbands parents are coming along, as they usually do, and will be renting points for a 1 bedroom. I did invite my parents to share our villa but am very doubtful they will take us up on the offer.

New things we are planning on for this trip are: a day at Universal, MVMCP, Candlelight Processional dinner package, Osbourne Lights, dinner at BOG, wine tasting at Jiko, resort hopping to look at decorations.

I am so EXCITED ! See you all there!

You will love the Savana view! We did that at Jambo last April. So awesome to wake up to giraffes!! We are going very similar dates (6-13), but staying at the Wilderness Lodge villas!
