Concierge/Club Level Information- Part IV, July 2012

Just got back from our Club level stay at Poly.

EVERYONE was so great!

Especially Lawrence and Pam.

There was not one thing that we asked for that couldn't be done.

We had requested. 1st floor room and were originally put in a 3rd floor room, and with a quick call, we were booked in the best 1st floor room we could have asked for.

Our room was ready when we got there at about 10:30am.

Offering in the lounge were good and plentiful.

We did have an issue with getting water later in the night, and refused to drink the tap water....it was a little odd smelling, and after I noticed my 4 year old was looking a little dehydrated from so much juice and pop I went upstairs and while they did not have any carafes left, y did give us 4 big cups to get us through the night.
I honestly could not have asked for more.

They have us hooked!

Lawrence is FANTASTIC! We always looks forward to seeing him. I can't drink the tap water so I always order a few cases, but we usually go when it's HOT so we use them in the parks as well.

My AKLV CL trip is coming in 70 days Should I be concerned I havent heard anything from CL? I've already got what ADR's I want, so i guess it doesnt matter, but I'm pretty sure when I stayed CL 10/11 that I had a form sent to me

I am taking my younger sister to WDW AKL CL from 8 to 15 January 2013 (booked today). She is on peritoneal dialysis...which means she has to do fluid exchanges several times a day. This will be our first time to AKL and CL.

She will have to be in the room quite a bit and I was wondering how to nicely request a room with a good view and near the elevator. Who do I request this through? What is the best approach? And what does IPO stand for?

Thank you so much for your help. This will be her only trip to WDW and I want to make it very special. We both have our birthdays during this trip as well. Can you please make suggestions for any thing special I can arrange as a surprise in the room? Thanks again.

We are completely new to the CL experience. I personally can not wait! We r planning on staying August 25-sept 1 at the BC CL. I would love any advice. We r traveling in 2 rooms;room 1-me,DH DD7,DS2. Room 2-my mom &82 yr. Young grandmother. I would love to hear about anyone experiences CL at BC. The pics I have seen have not shown many of the offerings. To be honest it seems like other CL's are much better with the food selection. But the offer we have I can not pass up the price, so we decided to try it out. any info would be wonderful positive or negative

I stayed BC CL early December, after previously being a huge fan of BWI CL (I still am), I loved the BC CL The room was immaculately clean and so pretty, the CMs were fabulous and generally the whole CL and resort had a great atmosphere.

I don't tend to make much use of the lounge food offerings but what I saw on the days i did I felt were similar variety wise to other CLs. Breakfast had oatmeal, fruits, eggs and pastries, snacks were potato chips, Swedish fish and
a couple of other things, evening offerings had cheese, crudités, dips, olives and a couple of hot items - the one night I had pre dinner appetisers they had a lovely gazpacho.

The only negative I felt was the size of the lounge for the amount of rooms, it wasn't a problem as my room was only a few doors along and as I said I didn't really make use of it, I understand however there is talk of enlarging it again.

Ah, the infamous FL tap water.

It's actually about the best overall tap water you can get in the USA- in terms of general quality. Florida has a somewhat unique aquifer. It's one of the largest aquifers in the country.

That said, the odor is a harmless sulpher smell. I agree 100% that the smell takes some getting used to, and lots of folks have trouble drinking it. So you are not alone.

The funny thing is....the bottled water many folks get is actually just local tap water (with an extra filtering). Zephyll Hills is among them.

Kuddos to those of you who got your club level requests. I've not had such good luck. My one request is usually plain yogurt, most club levels only have the sweet flavored kind (sometimes in 'diet'). GF is the one exception. GF stocks plain yogurt.

Check out the WDW Florist, they have lots of different baskets, balloons, etc. that you can have delivered to rooms for all types of occasions.

Ask the IPO folks (Itinerary Planning Office I think is what that means). I know you can get custom cakes. I've seen some crazy, amazing cakes delivered to folks over the years. I know you said she is diabetic, but I have to imagine they could work with you & do something that she could enjoy.

I think I remember seeing something about room service on your balcony @ AKL. A nice dinner overlooking the savannah would be lovely.

I think they still do the birthday calls too. Last time I had one it was Goofy. Ask the folks at the front desk or in the CL lounge if they could arrange that for on her actual birthday.

And be sure to get her a birthday button. Even if she is just hanging out at the resort, it usually gets a lot of "Happy Birthdays" and many cast members do extras for those celebrating. Don't expect anything huge - but maybe a free drink with lunch or sticker or something little like that.

For the room request, the IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) is the best way to go. The email address and phone number for each one (varies by resort) is on the first page of this thread, look through those posts for AKL. I would email the detailed request AND reason for the request, it may get extra pull in getting your requests fulfilled. Then I would follow up with a phone call explaining the same thing. (I say both because the email might help them forward directly to the schedulers). Good luck!!!

My DSis and I took our parents in '09 and stayed CL. My dad has mobility issues and we asked for a room close to elevators to minimize his walking. They gave room 4407, the first room on the Zebra Trail. It was the closest to the CL elevator. They actually had it empty and available for us when we checked in about 9AM.

I would like to know how beneficial the CL concierge is when it comes to making/changing/canceling last minute ADRs, and also if they can do so without penalty. Is there an added perk of fees being waved with the help of the concierge?

The short answer is no, with a maybe. For making reservations, they have access to the same ADRs you see online. In some cases they have offered to check everyday for something to open up if you're trying to get somewhere that is all booked up. (Again, something you can do yourself, but it's the convenience of them doing it for you.) For canceling, some people have said the club staff was able to get the fee waived, but I wouldn't take that as a guarantee, more as they would have a better chance than if you try yourself (which can work sometimes as well.)

I'm considering the Deluxe Dining plan and I'm really afraid that some days after two big meals we won't be able to roll ourselves to the third reservation. LOL

Also since I'm new to the whole ADR thing I'm a little unsure how to plan everything out properly, so I was hoping they'll be able to move a few things around for me last minute if I make a big mistake in scheduling.

We found with the deluxe that two meals and a snack (or club breakfast) was the way to go. You can also load up on a lot of two credit meals (signatures, etc) that way.

That's a good tip. When I was first choosing a dining plan I definitely thought I could do breakfast in the CL, lunch at QS, and then dinner at TS, but I want some bacon and eggs at some point! LOL All of the character breakfasts/buffets are 2 credits on the basic plan. This is probably the only time I'll be at WDW in the near future so I figured we might as well go big. Literally. I think I've gained 5 pounds just reading all of the menus.

Unless this has changed since Disney released the 2013 brochures, this is incorrect. CRT is the only character meal that requires two credits.

Oh wow I didn't even catch that. There's so much info on those pages it's a little overwhelming. I must've stopped reading after the "Please note: 2 table service meals..." part and thought it was for all the restaurants.

Hi everyone,


We are staying at AK in a one bed suite this coming August before a cruise on the Disney Dream.

Does anyone have any experience of staying in these suites? We have previously stayed in a standard club level room on the fourth floor. This time my nan and gramps are joining us in the suite as it sleeps six. Are the suites located on the fourth floor or the floor that the lounge is on?

Does anyone have any photos? We land in Orlando at around 5.15pm, will there be club level staff to greet us when we arrive.
