How busy do you think a Sunday evening will be at EMH?

Our second day, Dec. 2, I was hoping to take advantage of EMH at DHS which goes until 11pm.

Do crowds thin out on "school nights". Just wondering if it will be worth it to get back to DHS later that evening to watch Fantasmic!

Kinda wondered the same thing because that's our planned DHS day. It will be our 2nd day also. Arrive on the 1st, check in and out for a great dinner at Yachtsman.

There will be a certain amount of thinning out as it is a school night - our EMH @ DHS is a Sunday too. I always take advantage of EMH. Even if it is crowded and you only get a couple of rides/attractions in, its a couple more than if you'd left at regular closing :thumbsup2

That's good to know! We'll be there on 12/2 as well :goodvibes: We've got ADRs for H&V since 50's PT was booked.

I like my Panasonic Lumix camera. Nice features and good pics.

BTW, you didn't comment on what I put on your roll call entry.

Yeah I did. Somewhere back a few or 10 pages. I said something like ":lmao: I just checked the roll call to see if you made any editorial comments on my resort."

Anybody have a good point & shoot they like? Something small and cheap. ;)

Amazon has the Olympus stylus 8010 shock and waterproof camera for around $80 - it's a little pricey but the fact that it's waterproof has saved me from ruining mine many many times! It's great for the water rides - you can actually take a picture on the drop-down Splash Mountain. The battery on it is rechargeable too mine lasted five years before I had to replace it because it didn't hold a charge anymore. Great tough camera well worth the investment!

I think dh and I will split the sampler platter. I also think I will "try" the PB&J shake :) Oh boy.......I'm talking about food again, aren't I? We just ate a bunch of hot wings.....gearing up for the biggest game of the year! Yankees just beat the Orioles......I was actually pulling for the underdog birds.

Aww I wanted the Orioles to win. Hope your Cards win. Moment of silence for my Reds.

I just ordered my son the Canon Powershot A2300. It's $98 on Amazon.. Anything less than that and the cameras don't have a rechargeable battery. (Which is why we're replacing his old one.) For a little more you can get the A2400 line which has image stabilization and some other improved features. For $200+ they have the Elph line. But either way, you can't go wrong with the Powershot. Canon has really cornered the market on P&S.

That's the one I was looking at on Amazon. :thumbsup2 Might check out the A2400, but I wouldnt want to spend more that that. I just dont take a lot of pics besides on vacation.

DD is in bed and DH is going out to jam with his friend. I <3 my bass player.

So that leaves me to plan!! I am really really considering dropping DHS now and just going there late evening. Thanks for feedback earlier.

Does anyone know how late they do the Disney Jr show? I guess I can consult the internets for that answer. The more I think about it, I love the first park day to be at MK so DD can have her first (non merry go round) ride in Fantasyland. I am going to be a bawling mess  so it also gives me more time to ride with her on Dumbo, Pan and Small World over and over again.

This sounds like a WAY better plan. The kids all were done with HS in under half a day on our family trip in 2010, And they were actually old enough to like thrill rides then. For a little kid fantasyland is going to be a lot more fun and interesting than HS! Not to mention it just wouldn't be a trip to Disney World without going to MK first, well at least not for us!

I have 3 Nikons... An older DSLR, a P500 and a small cheap coolpix I got for about $80 (couple years ago) I have to say my favorite is the DSLR (which i know is not a point and shoot) however I liked the $80 cheapie over my P500 (was about $400 1.5 yrs ago) just for size and versatility and the whole breakable and replaceable factor - plus for a point and shoot it took very good pics in WDW!

...looking at the schedule to see if I have any time where I might be slightly hungry whilst at FLE........

ETA: I'm sure to be hungry during the MVMCP night........our last ADR is at LTT @2:40pm. Do you expect Gaston's Tavern will be open during the MVMCP? Surely I'll be hungry by 5pm ;)

Good thinking! A snack will be needed during MVMCP. Surely it will be open. :confused3

Does DTD come alive before noon? I'm guessing the stores open at 10am? I know the boat service starts at 10am (I think I read that somewhere).....but do the buses run earlier than that? It looks like we may have to get our fill of DTD on our first full day while at POR, which is okay to ease into our vacation. We'll have late EMH at DHS the night before so it'll be nice to relax a little the next morning/afternoon. The next day it's gang-busters MK day RD to MVMCP :)

DH and DS were watching the game while I was catching up here with 4 pages to read. I heard DH yell, "YES!" NYY won!

DS was mad when he found out that Lou Ford is with the Orioles now. He was part of the Long Island Ducks not too long ago. DS got his autograph when DH took him to a game.

Wow! Page 240 and just 10 pages to go. We will definitely be on the 3rd incarnation of this thread before the weekend is out.

Hope their feeling better.

I wish I could start exercising. Unfortunately, I'm dealing with an inflammation in my left foot from a cortisone shot last month :headache:. My podiatrist just switched my anti-inflammatory meds b/c the other one seemed to have stopped working.

OTOH, I am trying to watch what I'm eating so I don't gain anymore weight. I'll be making sure to try to use portion control for both DS10 and myself while in Disney as well as drinking a lot of water. DS is overweight for his age and height, although he is starting to lose the extra weight he gained over the summer. So it's a start :thumbsup2

Soon, my oldest started preschool and seems to bring home a new illness every week... Blah! She's a toughie it's my 15 month old that turns into a cuddly little beast!!

It's a life style change- gotta try your best and since you physically can't exercise the diet part is great! I find that harder than exercising.... Well hopefully everything starts feeling better soon like 49 days soon!!!!

So all this camera talk has me excited to bring my DSLR this trip. We moved to picturesque NH and I stopped taking pictures (lots of emotional stuff, losing my dad, PPD, just life has been off for 6 years) So still working through stuff but trying to do some things I loved before. So, my big dilemma I don't want to carry a large camera bag but I have 3 lenses and a flash... It's tight though... So my big debate, larger camera bag (no!) 2 lenses ( :( ) or stuff it in and go with it?

I made all of our ADRs at 180 days so we have an 8:35PM ADR for PTC. We've never eaten there so I'm psyched! Already know I'm getting the sampler.

I'm pretty sure it's about 10. We have walked around waiting for things to open before an 11 am lunch while visiting with family from the area.

DS hasn't had a good start for this year either. He broke his wrist over the summer and couldn't play gym until 3 weeks ago. Then I had to pick him up from school last week b/c he was throwing up a little bit (turned out it was from the post nasal drip due to his seasonal allergies). And on top of that, last Thursday, he went to a classmate's b-day party and sprained his ankle :headache:. He couldn't participate in gym this week as well as next Monday. After Monday, he can participate again.

As far as dieting, I'm still trying to lose the 4lbs I gained back in April when we went to PA for a few days. Eating out everyday caused me to gain weight.

I wish we could've made them that early. It was hard enough trying to convince my mom and brother that this is the way it's done now. I screwed us up by waiting too long to try and make an ADR for 50's. Everyone is ok with not doing it, except me. I really love the atmosphere and the interaction with the CM's. I'm still not too sure about H&V, even though we did the Playhouse Disney character breakfast there back in 2006 when DS was 4.

Since we are getting close to the limit on this thread, could you put a link to the 3rd thread when you start it (if that's possible since this has been moving like wildfire lately)? I have a feeling it might just get there tonight or by tomorrow morning if this keeps up.

Thanks!

VERY good idea! Our dinner ADR on our MVMCP night is at 5:30. We'll definitely need a snack between then and midnight! Fingers crossed it'll be open!

I'm annoyed right now, but nothing to do with our trip so this is completely off topic. I'm supposed to be out with a friend listening to another friends band play in 10 min but her DH is out and not home yet so we can go. So do I go alone or just sit in. Grrr!

Happy thought, happy thoughts!! WDW is 51 days away
