Cass, Rob and Kira back in Disney! Toddlers' tempers and tantrums *Final Video!1/06*

Great trip report! Looks like you are having so much fun! Love the idea of leaving toys on her bed to wake up to! Your meal at Sci Fi sounds great!!!!!!

CASS! You have been my scrapbook hero for the past 9 years! My first Disney Cruise scrapbook was roughly based on your first cruise scrapbook. (imitation is the best form of flattery, right?!)

I haven't been on the DIS for a while, but got on today because we're about to go on a 3-day in December so I thought I might need to catch up on some tips. Saw a thread over there that you commented on and now here I am reading your report! LOVE IT! My work computer won't show the pictures, so I can't wait to get home and see them, and also see your latest scrapbooks.

My daughter is 2, also, and I'm very nervous about how she's going to act on the ship. I can relate to everything you have said about your daughter! Can't wait to see how yours acted on the cruise.

Hello Cass! I am VERY late to the party but have been enjoying the trip report! :goodvibes

Wow I had some reading to catch up here today. :surfweb:

I loved the fact that she woke up and was playing and talking to her toys! awwww... i remember those days....

But I have to say my favorite today was her dancing with the parade girls! :thumbsup2 Towards the end she turned towards the other girl they pulled up there and it looked like she was SHOWING that girl how to do it right! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Susan, I agree with you! Cass, your pictures alone tell great stories. :yay:

Great updates, Cass! I was out of commission with sick kids, so I am only catching up now. That was a good break!:goodvibes

Great job so far Cass. I love it. The Hollywood Studios parade is very loud but I enjoy it when Walt's niece is dancing in front of us. She was on vacaction this last visit so we did not enjoy it as much. Same as High School Musical. I was really bummed she wasnt there. She has the lead girl part. I would have loved to see her do it. Next time.

Aw Cass... she's definately going to be a Disney Dancer someday... I wonder if they have videos out for kids with the characters with dancing?

Go Kira go! That flexing was adorable!!!!!!!!! Looks like a great day at HS so far.

A lot of great memories that day :goodvibes

Holy smokes! For some reason, I wasn't getting emails telling me when the thread had been updated. I missed lot of installments but am all caught up now. Poor Kira, maybe she was acting up because she was having Disney overload.

Glad you got all caught up now! :thumbsup2

:cutie: and :lovestruc about the crust. So adorable!

Oh, and this picture is just cracking me up...it's like i can read her mind and she's saying "BOOO YAH! I'm well rested and ready to give you a heck of a time today Mom and Dad!!!!"

Hahah, you are sooo right Mel, that's exactly what it looks like!!! :lmao:

That video is PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She looked just adorable!

I'm glad you liked it as much as I did :cool1:

Now that I think of it, she enjoys watching dancing shows with me...Dancing with the Stars and So you think you can Dance....maybe she is a little dancer at heart :rolleyes1

Hi, Cass! Wow, you are rocking right along with this trippie, and I am loving every installment!!!

I totally agree about the rounded shower curtain rod--they make a world of difference! I can only imagine what your story with the DCL shower curtain is going to be like. We had fits with ours. As innovative as Disney is, you would think that they's be able to come up with something to fix the "sticky" shower curtain problem!!

Kira giving her Daddy the pizza crust just melted my heart...so sweet!

Well I am still sick so I am staying at home except for grocery runs and Kira is loving being back home with all her toys and movies so might as well get as much done before I forget all the details :thumbsup2

Just thinking about that shower curtain is making me mad :headache: :lmao:

Great trip report! Looks like you are having so much fun! Love the idea of leaving toys on her bed to wake up to! Your meal at Sci Fi sounds great!!!!!!

It really was an awesome meal that I will always remember! ::yes::

Hi Kellyb!!! Of course I remember you!!! I think I got you totally addicted to scrapping :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Great to see you again!! I haven't been on the SB board in ages. I switched to digital scrapbooking in 2005 and haven't looked back since ;)

When are you cruising????

Hello Cass! I am VERY late to the party but have been enjoying the trip report!

Fabulous to see you!!! And you are only fashionably late :thumbsup2 Just in time for our Epcot day :goodvibes

Susan, I agree with you! Cass, your pictures alone tell great stories.

Sorry to hear that Paige, feel better soon hun!

Yeah, it would be totally cool if you knew someone in that parade, a lot more exciting then!!! :cool1:

Aw Cass... she's definately going to be a Disney Dancer someday... I wonder if they have videos out for kids with the characters with dancing?

Hahaha, that would be hilarious if they did!! ::yes::

Day 6 Part 1

October 20th - Epcot

After a good rest, Kira was in good spirits this morning. Here she is playing with her new Princess pin and lanyard that her Uncle Sean and Auntie Bernie bought her!

6-1.jpg

We drove to Epcot a little after 9 and the lines were ridiculous!! In my opinion, they need to open up way more turn styles in the morning and have more bag checkers!

We got in the shortest line we could find, which was still about 10 people deep and it took forever!!!!!!!!!

We stopped for pictures at Spaceship Earth and Kira was a little poser for us :goodvibes

6-2.jpg

6-3.jpg

6-4.jpg

We stopped to show her our Leave a Legacy photo. She loved seeing her mommy and daddy!

6-5.jpg

Just then we spotted Stitch all by himself!

6-6.jpg

Then we saw Daisy so we got in line. Rob put on some sunscreen and Kira helped him :rotfl2:

6-7.jpg

She really liked all the characters!

6-8.jpg

6-9.jpg

It was weird not going left towards Test Track and Mission:Space

We went right and headed for Living Seas to Ride the Nemo ride.

Here she is in her clamshell
6-10.jpg

We let her run for a bit in The Living Seas area but she had no interest in seeing any fish.

6-11.jpg

We then attempted to see the Character Spot but the line was ridiculous and she had already seen all those characters.

It was time for a fruit break so we found a wonderfully quiet spot near the Segway Room and just chilled out for awhile. She liked it because she could run around and be silly!

6-12.jpg

We still had time to kill before our ADR time at Le Cellier so we went to the Land Pavilion and rode the Living with the Land. Another first for us. It was a nice little boat ride that Kira enjoyed so it was all good!

She loved spotting all the birds in the parks

6-13.jpg

We had time for one more ride so we went and rode Journey into Your Imagination and she loved seeing Figment. We have some magnets and a little stuffy of Figment at home so she already knew who he was.

There was one spot on the ride that she didn't like because out of nowhere the wind blew right at her face but other than that, she loved the ride and I bought her a Figment of her own that day. :rolleyes1

Time for lunch!!

Day 6 Part 2

October 20th - Epcot

Time to eat at home :thumbsup2

She wasn't very cooperative in this picture :lmao:

6-14.jpg

We got there just before the restaurant opened for the day which was cool because all the servers got together and they sang our national anthem.

I have to admit though, it was confusing because 2 of them sang it in french and the rest sang it in english and since I speak both languages, I found myself flipping from english to french :rotfl2:

Our fantastic server Spencer took care of us for lunch! He was a really great server, personable, fast, efficient and funny too!

I went to take a picture of my girl and he ducked into the shot :rotfl:

6-15.jpg

Kira was in a pretty good mood and did well for the most part but I was still missing Bailey

6-16.jpg

Lunch was fabulous, Kira ate almost as much as Rob and we were all happy and full!

We stopped at the Canada Kidcot station where Kira made a mask with her daddy's help.

6-17.jpg

6-18.jpg

6-19.jpg

Since we were going to be there for Illuminations, we decided to go back to the condo and take a nice nap break.

We stopped at Mousegear on the way out and she tried on a few hats and admired herself in the mirror :goodvibes

6-20.jpg

She was getting a little cranky before we left....thank goodness we were leaving!

6-21.jpg

We were going to leave Spaceship Earth for when we got back but it was walk-on so we decided to do one last thing! I know, I know...I said we were going about an hour ago

6-22.jpg

Turns out we should have left it for later because somebody came off the ride super duper cranky!!!!!!!!!!! :scared1:

And it wasn't Kira :rolleyes1

Wasn't me either :rolleyes1

Yup, my normally happy-go-lucky husband was crankiness personified!

Apparently when he went to pick his language at the beginning of the ride, instead of playing the English version, it played the Spanish version so by the time the ride was over he was super grumpy! Well, actually he was grumpy ON the ride, which made it hard to enjoy my English version :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Oh well, now I got 2 grumpy people to get back to the condo for a break!

I think both Kira and I had a little sleep while Rob did some work and surfing and then we came back to Epcot.

We were supposed to meet up with Brenda and Jason (oybolshoi) at 6pm for some fish and chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop so we had a little time to kill.

We let Kira run around in England for a bit.

Day 6 Part 3

October 20th - Epcot

At 6pm we headed over to the fishy place and I sent Rob and Kira to get us a big table while I waited out front for B & J.

Rob texted me to tell me that Kira was hungry and getting awfully cranky so at 6:15pm I texted Brenda to tell her that we would be in the seating area eating and then I grabbed some fish and chips for us.

6-26.jpg

About 5 minutes later I went to grab some more ketchup and I spotted Brenda and Jason!

Turns out they were touring the park with another DISer (kabuki) and her hubby Jason. After hugs and introductions, we joined Rob and Kira and had us a nice little DIS meet. :goodvibes

We had a really great time chatting with them. It was great to see B & J again and Chelsi and Jason were two of the nicest people you could ever meet!

We stayed until they kicked us out for a private function they were having :rolleyes1 and we were hoping to stroll around Epcot with them for a little bit but Kira was getting anxious and she wanted to go do some rides.

We said our good-byes and wished them tons of fun and happy times.

All 4 of them seemed to be enjoying their vacation. :goodvibes They are such easy going people who really know how to just relax and have fun!

After we parted ways, we walked over to Norway so Kira could do a ride. She was happy to be out of the stroller!

I love this action shot! lol This was in line at Maelstrom.

6-27.jpg

She enjoyed being on the ride, but she was still full of P & V :rolleyes1

6-28.jpg

And she didn't want her picture taken anymore :rotfl:

6-29.jpg

6-30.jpg

We stopped at the kidcot station where we met a totally clueless CM! She was too busy writing someone's name over and over on a piece of paper to actually help us out so Kira took a little boat and we left.

6-31.jpg

About this time we noticed that Kira had something in her eye. Not sure what it was, just a small little black thing so after exploring Mexico and seeing Donald wreak havoc in that country, we made our way to the First Aid station.

Rob was able to remove it and we told Kira we would get her a treat for being so good.

6-32.jpg

Mommy got a treat too ;)

6-33.jpg

Kira's treat was dripping everywhere so we had to put a bib on her, not something we did often this trip, surprisingly!

6-34.jpg

We finished our treats and walked over to Canada because we wanted to see the new Oh Canada movie.

We were happy to see that the new and improved film was MUCH better than that old crappy one!!

Rob had some nice moments while we were watching OH Canada. Kira was cuddling with him and singing a little bit. She likes to sing along to songs, even ones she doesn't know the words to

I grabbed the camera and shot a little video of them.

Day 6 Part 4

October 20th - Epcot

After the movie, it was almost time for Illuminations but we knew Kira wouldn't like being really close to the water, where we normally watch it from.

We grabbed our stroller which was parked on the top level of the Canada Pavilion and I asked Rob if he wanted to watch it from there.

It was a perfect spot for us, we could see most of the show, it was far enough away for Kira and she could run around if she wanted to because there was hardly any other people around.

6-35.jpg

6-36.jpg

6-37.jpg

6-38.jpg

We enjoyed the show as did Kira and we were happy that we stayed where we did because it was rather loud from there!

Before the show started this guy who was all decked out in "Bond gear" as we called it (jump suit, climbing gear, etc.) entered a building and came out on the roof.

Rob and this guy next to him started laughing about the whole thing (it was rather mysterious and all spy-like, really!) and then they laughed even more when the guy opened up his secret work station which was located in the chimney :lmao::rotfl2:

Hard to see but here he is on the roof...

secret.jpg

Well during the whole show, Rob and this guy talked about his "secret mission"
and joked about this guy being a super spy.

Boys :rolleyes1

So after the show when the guy came down, of course Rob just had to go and ask this guy just exactly what he was doing.

Turns out he was controlling the laser and parts of the show. He told him that they were laughing about all the spy stuff and that they were betting that the guy would reappear in the red phone booth after the show like Maxwell Smart :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

So what did Rob do????

He asked him to get in the phone booth so that he could take a picture of the guy!! :rotfl2::rotfl:

I was already down the stairs at this point :rolleyes1

The guy was super nice and actually got in the booth!!! :lmao:

6-39.jpg

On our way out we stopped near Innoventions and showed Kira the gorgeous lights embedded in the stone. She LOVED this and we let her run around for as long as she wanted.

6-40.jpg

6-41.jpg

6-42.jpg

Here is a little video of my girl enjoying the lights :goodvibes

http://cassworld.ca/videos/epcotlights.wmv

We took our time leaving...just enjoyed the atmosphere of Epcot at night. Kira liked walking around seeing all the lights.

epcot-last.jpg

We had a good day at Epcot and we were all very sleepy!

Sounds like Kira enjoyed Epcot and wasn't so cranky today.

Love this picture

I am really enjoying your TR-we have a little girl who will have just turned 3 when we go so it is interesting for me to see what your little one likes (like the lights). I think we may be dealing with more than one tantrum for our toddler when we go in Jan.! :scared1:

Loved all the photos, Cass. Looks like Kira really had a good day, and Mommy and Daddy too!

Hey there Cass... I didn't know that they sang the Canadian National Anthem when they first open... I would have loved to have seen that (heard actually). I will keep that in mind for my January trip.

I didn't realize you spoke French as well...Does Rob? Are you teaching Kira as well? :thumbsup2

And um... Do you make that amazing Cheese soup or have restaurants nearby that do? And ummmmm........ Can I come for dinner? :rotfl:

I have only been as far into Canada as Niagra Falls... so I think my only "Canadian dining" was a TGIF's shamefully.
