Helllo!
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this thread!
I'm 19 weeks...due September 23rd. We found out yesterday we are having a boy pirate: :)
None of our friends are at the baby point in their lives yet so I have very few people to talk about this with that have any idea what it's like!

Welcome TinkerbellRN and congrats on your baby boy:banana::banana::banana:

:grouphug: Oh my gosh. I don't would be freaking irritated too.

Thanks. I've calmed down a lot but SERIOUSLY?!

He's been moving about 100x more than normal today so maybe he knows I need the reassurance. :lovestruc

Melissa- my US's are done the same way, through the hospital and I have to wait to hear from my Dr. She usually calls the next day to say "US was good, we'll talk more in depth at your next appt." Here's hoping you hear from your Dr. soon.

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

It sure is quiet here today...

I have definitely snacked all day today:eek:-- and thats totally not like me.

Thanks. I've calmed down a lot but SERIOUSLY?!

Wow! That is scary! I can't believe they waited so long to say something :sad2:

But I'm glad Lucas has been moving around a lot more. I'm sure that makes you feel a lot better :)

Thanks, it is. The Shih-Tzu was just laying on my tummy and got a few swift kicks.. :rotfl:

How is Jake doing?

Okay ladies, so I had my appointment yesterday and the drink wasn't bad at all--I went with lemon/lime (no fruit punch option) and it tasted like flat sprite. They said they would call me by Friday if there was a problem.

But...I gained 10 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it. I've been doing much better this month with exercise and food--I've barely had an appetite most of the month. And I feel great! My arms aren't flabby anymore and besides the baby belly, my clothes fit better and I'm still a size smaller than I was prepregnancy. Dr said it was probably muscle mass and because I've grown so much belly-wise this month. Plus my last appointment was at 9am and this was at 4pm, so you can knock off a couple of pounds for the daily gain. She said not to worry and keep up the good habits...but last month she told me she didn't want me to gain more than 20 pounds and I'm at 16 now! I actually weigh 3 pounds more than the heaviest I've ever weighed. I'm so crabby and unhappy about it...stupid scale.

Don't beat yourself up. Remember, some of the that weight is actually the baby and fluid. You yourself probably didn't gain much. Next time don't even look at the scale. Let your doctor tell you if there is a problem. BTW- I agree, scales are stupid!!!

So I have to admit that I am a bad mommy, lol. I have been drinking regular coke just to sugar him up so I can feel him move.... and I also poke him with the doppler and my finger if I don't feel him for a while. My poor baby, his momma is crazy!!

I don't think I will be able to get out of bed tomorrow as we were at the new house working and my back is so sore. Boy did I have a moment tonight!!! Yesterday I went to the new house and forgot the key so I couldn't get in. Tonight I made sure to bring the key and we got in just fine but then I LOST the key (In an almost empty house mind you). So here it is after 11pm and I can not find the one key. Luckily (sort of) we were changing the locks tomorrow anyways so we had a new set but no screw driver so my mom brings us a screw driver and we decide to only install the bottom lock and go on our way as the house is empty and we would fix it tomorrow. So Robert puts it on, it works and we get in the car. I notice Robert didn't have his glasses so I tell him he should run back in and get them. When he goes to come back out the door does not work and we had to start all over again. We never did get the bottom to work and had to try the top. The last people did not drill the hole correctly and it was a pain... I finally figured out in about 10 minutes after Robert struggled for 30 (bless him he tries but he is not handy) and then we left after 1 am. I won't be living this down for a long time. Poor DH has to wake up at 5:30 too so he will only get about 4 hours sleep.

Landon is having a dance party right now... it was probably the two ice cream cones I ate at almost 2am!! :rotfl: I love it!

My doctor hasn't told me how much he wants me to gain but I am 6 weeks behind you and have already gained 12 :scared1:Just keep up the good work and don't be too hard on yourself. You have a great excuse! I also think something like 18 pounds of the weight gained ends up being from placenta, fluid, and baby so you are doing good! I lost a good amount of weight for our wedding but I think I have gained it all back and more lol!! I've tried to be good but the cravings are killing me! I told Robert on Friday he has to take me to this place 30 minutes from us so I can have a Monte Cristo sandwhich!

Good morning Moms!!!!

Yesterday I did a little baby shopping!!! I had to replace my Dr. Brown bottles with the new BPA free ones. I picked up the $50 starter kit. Which was basically free because my DM gave me a $50 Visa gift card that she has never used :cool1:...woohoo, love freebies! Then I went to Kohls and picked up three adorable pink girlie outfits. They only cost me $8 total. I used a $10 coupon they sent us in the mail. I was so thrilled I felt like I got so much for the money spent.

Today, I have a regular check-up. I am now going every two weeks. The end is in sight.

Sarah, don't stress about the weight gain. Every ounce is worth it in the long run. I understand where you are coming from but just relax and enjoy this time. I watch the scale like a hawk too, but that is because I did not start my pregnancy being a size two...I worry about being bigger than I already was. I guess I will see after todays appointment. Two weeks ago I was back at the weight I started my pregnancy at. In my head I would like to not gain more than 15lbs by the end. I do not want to have to buy new clothes after DD is born. It was bad enough my shoe size changed permanantly when DS was born.

Ann

I went up a shoe size with my 2 older kids, too! Well, a half size. I was a 6.5 forever-my feet were so small in middle school that I was the last one to get high heels (now they make them for 3 yr olds, but not then). But after the kids, I am a size 7.

I'm up about 20 lbs now, but I'm so close to the end I shouldn't gain much more. Of course I was 170 lbs when I started (at 5'2" mind you!). I was horrified of weighing over 200lbs. So I've at least met that goal (staying under 200). Dh says I'm going to be smaller when the baby is born than I was before-all the weight is in my belly this time, where before I was bigger all over. Right now I'm swelling-my feet, hands, and face are all puffy, especially at the end of the day. Thank goodness for the Disney crocs-I can't stand to put anything else on my feet.

Thank goodness for the Disney crocs-I can't stand to put anything else on my feet.

:rotfl:Crocs were my friends for both of my pregnancies too! More so with DS when I was still working right up to the day before he was born.

Have a good and restful day all!
Ann

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate all of the positive thoughts. Like I said the thing that gets me is that I feel really good and the weight is definitely in the belly, because the rest of me looks better than it did prepregnancy. It's just hard knowing I have so far to go still. I really don't want to break the 200 mark.

Hopefully it's mostly baby and then breastfeeding will work perfectly and burn all those extra calories!

I feel terrible today. I took my Metformin last night since I'm really worried about GD now (I have PCOS which effects my insulin resistance--the Met helps that), but it has terrible side effects (basically stomach flu)...and of course I have 3 storytimes to get through today...

When I got home last night I had a gift waiting. A bunch of the teachers at DH's school got us the Avent gift set, a really cute rainbow fairies board book and $100 gift card to Target. I really wasn't expecting them to do anything since this is only DH's second year at this school. So that was a great pick me up!

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Sarah-I definitely wouldn't fret about the weight especially since you have been doing so well with your exercise and eating. I agree with the doc that some of it is probably in muscle weight which is a good thing! You always gain the weight from the muscle before you start to lose the weight elsewhere. I am already almost to my 30 lb. allotment for this pregnancy and I technically still have 2 months left although I don't think he is going to wait that long. Some of my extra weight is also in the over abundance of amniotic fluid I have.

Ann-which all comes in the gift set of the Dr. Browns? I LOVE Dr. Browns bottles. I just bought two sets (one of the larger size and one of the smaller size) from my Kmart that is closing. I too had to get the BPA free bottles since they didn't have them with Madeline.

DH left this morning to go to Colorado to a Christian men's retreat until Monday. I won't be able to even talk to him Friday or Saturday! :scared1: So its going to get lonely here! The sweet thing e-mailed my friends and my neighbors to let them know he was going out of town and to check in on me when they get a chance. He's such a good hubby!

Thanks, it is. The Shih-Tzu was just laying on my tummy and got a few swift kicks.. :rotfl:

How is Jake doing?

That's funny! Anytime I lean against a counter or desk at work Jake kicks it. It's pretty amusing ;) He's doing well though! Lots of movement. Especially at night when I am trying to sleep :rolleyes1

I go for my gestational diabetes screening on Monday. I was actually supposed to go Tuesday but I got lazy and all I did that day was go put down the deposit for my 4-d ultrasound. Ooops :teeth: But my dr. said I could go anytime before my next appointment so I'm not too worried about it. I have just felt SO tired the last week. I don't know what it is. I had been feeling pretty good the last couple weeks and then all of a sudden my energy levels just went poof. I guess I can start saying hello to that lovely third trimester

Hope everyone has a great day! Talk to you all later!

Starter set includes 6-8oz bottles;4-4oz bottles;10-Level 1 nipples;4-Level 2 nipples;4-Level 3 nipples; 4-Level 4 nipples;10-2pc patented internal vents;6 Storage Caps;5 Cleaning Brushes. BPA FREE

My Dr. appt went well. No real changes to report. :goodvibes . Emma's heartbeat was 148, and my belly was measuring correctly. My BP was 112/70, and I have gained a total of 3lbs total since start of my pregnancy. Next appointment is in 2 weeks.

Seems I have a slight sinus cold. I am feeling a bit congested but nothing major.

I PASSED!!!!!

Yay! I thought for sure with the PCOS and the big weight gain that I was going to fail for sure.

The nurse called, so I thought for sure I failed since they said they would only call if I failed, but turns out I passed (she said my numbers were actually very good), but I'm slightly anemic--probably because I haven't been able to take my prenatals. So yay!! I'm so happy--this makes me feel a lot better about the weight!
